Avatar_f_tn OK so I started having this dry cough about 7 weeks ago. It seems to be brought on more when I eat or drink. Its almost as if I am needing air really fast so I cough or something. (I don't think I have a breathing problem though) so the cough started almost 2 months ago.
Avatar_m_tn - Constant coughing (most when I am sitting, when it's hot outside, or when the air is wet, but other times as well; no link to excercise), every day - Short, stabbing pains in my upper chest, an inch or two below the clavicule (both sides), my left armpit my left shin bone (when running), my shoulders (especially when leaning on them), and occasionally my upper or lower back; something, usually more than one something, hurts every day - Drawn-out, aching pains in my left calf muscle (when sit
Avatar_f_tn They tell me the cough/wheezing can last for months, as it will take time for my increased meds to help the situation. I'm coughing so much, of course it is worse at the evening and early morning. I have missed 3 days of work this week alone. I have never had this happen as a result of my Esophagus issues. Is there any other remedy that can help eliminate or lessen the amount of wheezing and congestion and coughing I have??
Avatar_n_tn I too have had a cough for 7 weeks straight - went on a cruise in this time 87 temps laid in the sun, tried to drink it out one night, been to the dr 4xs already they have had me on z-pak, anti, cough syrup, cough pills, puffer, nasal stuff, over the counter meds, zzzz-quil to sleep, night quil and motrin for the pain in my rib cage from coughing. From coughing so much with the bad attacks I loose my bladder now from this ongoing issue. Feels like i have something in my throat.
Avatar_n_tn perscribed amoxicillon twice a day for 7 days and a steroid once a day for 7 days. He wrote me a prescription for cough syrup. Each day my throat got a little better but my cough and mucus has gotten worse. I will be okay for a while and then all of a sudden at no warning I'll get this uncontrolable urge to cough and cough and I have loads of clear mucus. It feels like it is in the back of my throat and I can't get it all up.
Avatar_n_tn She can no longer play basketball because she can't run up and down the court for more than (2) times without gasping for air. Albuterol does nothing. Advair does nothing. Singular was recently added and also, does nothing. Two weeks ago I took her to see an ENT specialist thinking that this might help. He told me that he doesn't think this is bacterial and also does not think this is asthma (by the way, 3 PFT's are not only normal but great).
Avatar_f_tn should have said you turned 40 this year!! That explains it!! hahahahaah.......Many of us women on this forum experienced a definite increase in pvcs around 40. I asked my doctor if she feels there is a hormonal connection, and she said, "YES!" Oh great!! LOL Yep, strings of pvcs are back to back premature ventricular contractions - that definitely felt weird for me. I counted to 15 once and just started moving around to get them to stop - used to freak me out.
Avatar_n_tn The problem is that it's a steroid and doctors don't like to give it because it has side effects, but I can take it for 7 days and then I'm good for a couple of months with absolutely no coughing. When it starts again I take it for another week. So I'm not on it constantly but it does cure the cough.
Avatar_n_tn Again, this is very doubtful. Most bronchial infections will clear up within a matter of days (sometimes a little more than a week) even without treatment. Still, it does happen and your doctor should consider this as well. Again, good luck to you.
Avatar_n_tn email me at ***@**** please i have been having the same issues for 5 weeks and have blacked out three times and just this morning had a small seizure in front of my kids when i came to i felt my body still shaking as soon as i start coughing for a short period of time and or laugh hard it sends me into a coughing fit and i black out hospital has said my vitals are fine and send me on my way they dont go any further than that one hospital said it could be my uvula that is long causing me to
209384_tn?1231171906 Have taken 1,000mg/day Ceftin for 7 days. Took a 3-pack of Zithromax 500mg. Took large IV dose of Levoquin and 2 other antibiotics. Have taken too many pain pills of various kinds to count and am also on Tussionex, cough syrup plus hydrocodone every 8 hours. Understand why I have this horrible yeast infection, but have NO IDEA why I still ave all these other infections!!
Avatar_n_tn took augment during fourth week for ten days. no relief of symptoms. never had a cold last more than a few days ever. i am normal healthy 34 yr old what?
Avatar_n_tn I try to take this for 3 months for 21 days. I stop taking it for 7 days hoping that it will regulate my cycle. unfortunetly i am only regular for one month and then its back to a heavy period. i am fed up with my doctor and the gyncologist as they never have an explanation for this. I have had all the tests done laparoscpy and a DNC. after reading everyone's messages i do not feel like an alien there are other females in the same boat as me.
Avatar_m_tn Cold symptoms do not linger for more than 7 to 10 days. The green mucus is suggestive of bacterial infection of your nose and/or sinuses. It needn't be bacterial, but could be a fungal infection. You would do well to see an ENT specialist, for a thorough exam to rule out tumors and request that the green mucus be cultured for both bacteria and fungi. Not all doctors deem fungal infection of the nose and sinuses serious enough to warrant treatment.
Avatar_f_tn if i can, I cannot smoke but a couple hits right now without coughing and it hurts too much..might as well roll with it because I do not think I have smoked more than 5 -7 a day since withdrawals began.. I just do not want do too much at one time because definitely the pills have to go first..if the cigs go to right now even better!!
Avatar_m_tn I have been advised to take ZERODOL100mg Tablet 3 times a day for 7 days . Avatar_n_tn Nights are the worst not just for me but also for my family. I have no idea what's wrong with me. It's more than just a cold with a bad cough. My doctor insists I'll be fine I just have to be patient. This is affecting the quality of my life. Should I be more pushy and insist that my doctor send me for tests? But test for what? Couldn't get through this without going through a coughing fit.
Avatar_m_tn And I developed some symptoms after a month! (I started coughing, and didn't stop for another 60 days...the sneezing took over after that. ) 8. Talk, write, but share your feelings. I know some folks don't want to open up, but I think it really helps. So come on here every single day and tell us how you're doing. The good, bad, ugly, all of it. Hope these tips help someone. It's a great day to be sober!!!!
1416390_tn?1333905204 She didn't cough while we were he didn't find a problem. The coughing became more frequent. I boarded her at the vet for about a week and they said they never heard her cough. So I finally videoed a couple of the episodes. When the vet saw the videos, he x-rayed her heart and said she had congestive heart failure. She is now on LASIK for her heart. About a year before she was diagnosed with cogestive heart failure, she was put on rimadyl for her arthritis.
Avatar_n_tn Hard to catch my breadth, muscles tense to the point where I fell like I'll break a rib. Can't sleep for more than 2 or 3 minutes at a time and that's sleeping sitting up. forget about lying down. I've been to the ENT and pulmonary specialist. Same as others.....diagnosed with acid reflux and have been taking Prevacid for a few years now. They tell me to take Nasonex and Zyrtec D but neither helps. I have the strong cough medicine with codiene but that doesn't work anymore.
Avatar_f_tn women show a difference with increased cardiovascular event with diabetes the risk for women 4 times more than men and hypertension affecting men 2 times as much as women, it could be vice versa but i think I remember it correctly. It might be different in regards to PVCs but no study with women were done. Overall there was only a slight increased risk with a caveat at the overall clinical prognostic value.
Avatar_m_tn I started on it a few days ago and it's worked wonders for me. I've had sinus problems for over thirty years. The caveat of this is that although it does not metabolize in the liver, you should not take it for a prolonged period of time. Bottom line...ask your doctor.
559187_tn?1330786456 I can definitely think of a better way to spend a Friday night than go for a sleep study - my second one in 2 years. So, why am I goin then? When I was in the hospital, the nurses doing rounds at night noted in my chart that they had observed apnea events when they came through. They woke me and put me on oxygen thinking that would be the correct thing to do only to find out that this is not appropriate for apnea as the respiratory therapist told me later.
Avatar_f_tn We go on July 23rd for a level 2 scan to see if we can find out more. The more that I have read the more at ease I am because it seems if this is the only marker it usually turns out that the baby is okay and the parents are freaked out for nothing. Please pray that everything is fine!! Alicia - I'm so sorry you are going through this and I have a good feeling that your dates are just off!
Avatar_n_tn 2) Could being on these antibiotics in such a time cause a spot like this, some kind of a skin abnormality. Because I know my face certainly looks more flushed than usual, and I seem to have more pimples everywhere? 3) All around and up and down my legs and butt, even to my feet, there’s been random tingling/almost burning at times, (not painful) for weeks now, though very rarely in the groin area, and very inconsistent. (Of course, I’ve been obsessing over all this, too, though, I know.
Avatar_m_tn I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it.
Avatar_f_tn Hi. If this has been going on for more than 2 or 3 days (maximum) then it is likely a gastrointestinal infection, which will need antibiotics. She needs the attention of a vet to examine, diagnose accurately and prescribe medicine. You should not leave this, so borrow money if you have to, or sell something to raise the funds, or seek the help of a local canine welfare association - or ask your vet if you can pay in installments - whatever it takes, please get your dog to the vet.
4202953_tn?1377187106 It took about a month before my sneezing somewhat subsided. At around 70 days I'm still sneezing more than average. It definitely has gotten better though. Using opiates wreaks all kinds of havoc on your body including messing with your histamines/ anti-histamines. You may not have noticed but while u were using you probably didn't sneeze much at all...when I came off it's like I all of the suddenhad allergies!
