Hello. I've recently had a cold and lately I've noticed that every morning when I spit out some phlegm there are streaks of blood in it. When I started coughing, it wasn't there then but after a few days of coughing really heavily it started. It only happens in the mornings though after waking up. No blood comes up the rest of the day no matter how much I cough. It's been going on four about... I don't know, 2 to 4 days now.
it was darker. Well, a week later, today i still am coughing up blood in the morning. It actually has had some bright, fresh, blood in it but it isn't in that big of quantities. It's the sixteenth and i've been wheezy since the eighth. I no longer have a family doctor and lost my job over three months ago now.. Should i go to emergency?? Doctor dropped me cause i took longer than a year to get a check up and NO ONE is taking new uninsured patients.
I am asthmatic since around past 30 years. This morning I found blood in my phlegm when I was brushing my teeth. This is the first time I found blood in my phlegm. I am a non-smoker, non-alcoholic & vegetarian (often I eat eggs too). Kindly help.

Hi there I would go to gp blood in saliva could be due to chest infection,coughing too much thus bursting tiny vessels in throat(not serious) if you have severe gastric disorder it could be coming from gastric is the blood bright red? If so this is prob due to strain from coughing,is the blood brown in colour if so this is old blood and should be checked out ASAP are you on medications that could be making gums bleed thus leaving slight blood in your salvia.

I have some pain in throat for last two days.. i m feeling like some thing is there in my throat. then the same feel spread up to chest only in right side.
Even if i m not able to sleep properly. After 1 & half day . i mean today morning i started coughing after that when i spit that was only blood. can u suggest me what to do. I m so scared...

And I went 4 days of having a headache and then the next morning my eye was fine and then I got in the shower and while brushing my teeth I notice red in my eye, to my shock it was bloody and at the bottom of my right eye, I've never had this before and didn't know why it happened. As the day went on my eye started to hurt and I started to get another headache. Could my eye and headache to related??

he told me that this morning he was coughing really hard and spit out blood which was almost about half a cup..he is not an alcoholic and he doesn't smoke either.he has coughed up blood for the first time and i am really worried.can you please tell me what this might mean? also there was no phlegm in the blood,it was just blood.please help.
P.S: he is a heart patient and has had 2 heart attacks in the past 15 years..
After it ended I began couging up a small about of blood. In all it probably measured up to almost a tablespoon, and then ended. The next morning my chest felt like someone had hit me with a baseball bat. I went to the doctor the following day and he listened to my lungs, did the normal pushing of my stomach, checked ear, nose, and throat, and ran some blood tests. He did not do a chesy x-ray, and didn't seem interested in doing one.
Last night I came home from working and being at my sisters and I looked in the mirror and I had a broken blood vessel in the right corner of my left eye... It was small dot with a little streek.. When I woke up this morning it was still red and it looks like another smaller one is under where the first one started however it could have just drained to that area. What causes this?
This time the soreness persisted the whole entire day. I went to bed last night with a lot of phlegm in my throat and woke up this morning with a lot of soreness and phlegm once again. I tried to hack up the phlegm. Most of it was clear or yellow. Then I managed to get a real good one... I hacked up a real thick sample that was directly from my throat, and spit it out onto a tissue. I noticed a streak of blood on the tissue mixed with yellow phlegm.
My son who is 12 is having episodes of coughing up blood every 60 days --it started in March of 2012 -- it sometimes starts with sharp pains in his right side (front) -- or sometimes he just coughs up blood -- the coughing up of blood lasts for about 20 mins -- he coughs up about 1/2 of a specimen container of blood -- he says it feels like there is something he needs to cough up -- he coughs -- not too hard - and then spits into a cup and it is blood.
