Atkins diet vs hcg diet

Common Questions and Answers about Atkins diet vs hcg diet

diet

I have been on the HCG Protocal for almost four weeks and have not achieved the expected results. I have been following the prescibed diet and HCG injection instructions to the letter. I live in Houston, Texas and have been working with a clinic in Colorado Springs. Is there a clinic in Houston that provides the HCG protocal. Perhaps support in my local area would achieve the desired results.
Will a basic improved change in eating habits ( no sodas, eat a high protein breakfast, eat mostly organic, etc) keep the weight off after the hCG diet? I am about to start 3 people on the hCG diet. Simple case studies. Should be interesting. I am getting them to start a diary. We will see. I may be biased, but I am a physician and I am interested in the most objective evidence that this will work. Or that it won't. I know if my patients stick with the diet they will lose weight.
I haven't been doing much in the way of exercise as I fractured my leg just after starting the diet. When you come off the diet, you have flush your body of the HCG. You do this by eating the same drinking & 500 cal diet for 3 more days while not getting the HCG. Then you can eat anything you want as long as it doesn't have fats or carbs in it for 3 weeks AND you don't gain or lose more than 2 pounds going above your last lowest weight while on the drops.
That's similar to what I've been saying, but HCG does play an invaluable role in this diet. You can lose on a 500 cal diet w/out HCG but can you stay on that diet? I've been on both diets: 500 Calorie 'with' HCG and 500 calorie 'without' HCG. (Read my post about that from 6/15). Believe me - this is sooooooooo much easier to do this 500 Cal diet WITH HCG than it was without. Without, I was miserable, hungry constantly and couldn't stick with the diet.
There is a clinic that recently opened in Ft Worth but they require they follow you through a 30 day Phase I 'pre-diet' cleanse and diet preparation before they will prescibe HCG. Can't email Transformations program because it's only 'hard copy'. Dr Simeon's original diet can be found at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/HcgDieters/files/. There is a summary version and the full 64 page document written by Dr Simeon.
I've been off hcg for 5 days and the weight is coming back at almost the same rate (a lb a day) but I'm doing a version of the Atkins diet, avoiding carbs. Despite all this, I still believe in hcg and intend to do it again in 5 wks. I'm going to up my dosage to 200 units per shot and see if that does work any better. There must be something I've done that worked against me - I don't know what - but I'm going to keep researching and find out.
No its not called the B-12, or the cocktail shot. It is called the Lipo-B or Lipotropic diet shot. Which works pretty much as a injectable fat burner. Some say that it is similar to injections given to patients, when they are about to have a lipo-suction surgery, to help break down fat deposits.
and try to avoid Sugar. Low Carb and Hi Protein - it almost sounds like the South Beach Diet or the Atkins Diet.
Victoza is a new kid on the block approved by the FDA in January 2010. It is too new to fully understand its good vs bad on humans. In animal studies, Victoza caused tumors of the thyroid gland in rats and mice. Whether it will aid in weight loss is unknown as no weight loss studies were conducted. Your best solution is a lifestyle change; proper nutrition and exercise. No pill can do what you can to do for yourself. Lisonopril - Do you have kidney issues?
I have high blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol. The diet begins with a blood test and an EKG and then you start the diet after you see their doctor who just does a simple physical to make sure you are healthy enough to diet. All I can say is... This time (it's my 4th time in 20 years)... this time, my blood pressure has dropped from 150/92 down to 116/75. I am in my fourth week.
I've gained significant weight while on these drugs (despite an intense exercise program and careful diet). My nutritionist and MD told me that the drugs likely altered my metabolism, but no one can tell me how long it will take to correct that. Most frustrating, I've noticed that since I stopped taking both, my weight gain has accelerated. Any ideas as to how long I need to endure this or ideas for correcting my metabolism? Thanks.
I was on that for seven years and finally got a sensitivity to it and it was no longer effective. With autoimmune urticaria vs. chronic idiopathic urticaria (which they said was what i had for eight of the ten years) I couldn't use antihistimines at all with effect, doxepin was the only one! Plaquenil is our next option. However using synthroid (synthetic thyroid) daily has done more for my hives than anything used thus far.
I took a pregnancy test last week and it was negative. Does it make a difference if you take it in the evening vs. morning? I would be elated if I was pregnant and so would my husband.
also and i know this for a fact as this happened to me march of 2006 when i found out i was pregnant with my one year old i had negative tests on cheap hpt's the cheaper ones only pick up the higher amounts of hcg where as if you pay the extra it picks up from 10 rather than 20ml of hcg it could be that you have a low dose of hcg and it is not picking it up try getting a blood test, if the blood test is negative then put it down to stress.
