I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.
Had to call gynecologist over weekend and she recommended I come in today if pain had gotten worse. Obviously I stopped using the Aldara when these symptoms started, but they have since gotten much worse since ceasing the medication. Had an emergency visit to my gynecologist today: she confirms that it is severe burns from the Aldara on my labia and I also coincidentally have a yeast infection occurring at the same time.
I have recently been using Aldara cream to try and eliminate my genital warts (HPV). Although the warts minimised in size after three months my doctor told me to stop using aldara because of the ineffectiveness and incredible sores and lesions that i endured whilst treatment. He reccomended me to a dermatologist for the treatment of the HPV.
hi there i have recently been using aldara cream for my anal warts (HPV) I have used it twice so far friday and monday. And today (tuesday) i have been feeling muscle pain, and i guess some kind of fever i feel cold or hot at various times of the day but i can function... but during the weekend i did play soccer and hockey and did sweat a lot and ran a lot.
I also had red itchy swollen labia, an initial vaginal discharge, anal itching, occaisonal stabbing pain in the back of my legs. My Gyno first said I had dermatitis. However, I had been using DMSO cream which significantly reduced the symptoms by the time I saw her.
I was able to keep the itching and redness somewhat under control with the DMSO and other natural products I purchased. But it kept coming back. I fully expected to break out with herpes, but I never did.
This left me devastated for a few days and I hit an all time low. I was advised that I could go back onto the aldara cream because the doctor seemed to think it wasn't linked to the herpes outbreak.
I started again with the aldara cream and I started to get a regular tingling sensation again and also saw visible outbreaks again on the scrotum area (not where the cream was applied at any time). I carried on using three or four sachets but then I took the decision myself to stop.
Since I am traveling oversees for several months, I self-diagnosed, and bought a 1-month supply of Aldara 5% Cream from an OTC pharmacy, and have been applying that following the directions in the product insert (3x/week, overnight). What seems odd is that the shape of the 'bumps' are flat, only slightly raised, flesh-toned (i.e.
I have been waiting for the results (though I know I have no other STDs thankfully those tests have already come back) and using the veregen. i have not noticed any changes to the bumps or what i think are bumps surrounding my vagina nor the the bumps surrounding my anus.
I'd still say it could be a reaction to the Aldara, and how you are using it. You will just need to wait and see what the test results say.
i have tried picking them off which was painful and messy but they were only gone for a month or so then they came back .
Is there anyway to get rid of these its killing me mentally because im actually turning down sex because im so embarrassed and worried of infecting anyone else.
i have tried a topical cream also called aldara which was expensive and i picked one off at the time before using it so not sure if it worked properly?
Hi, I had genital warts back in 2002 (3-4 small ones). The doctor used the nitro gun and froze them but he missed one. It was a very small one, hardly visible, so I didn't do much about it. I went to the doctor again 2 months ago and he suggested to use Aldara on it because he didn't keep a nitro gun. I had been using it for about 2 months when I developed this sore on my penis, size of a quater, but not round. There were no blisters but just a sore as if the skin had been peeled off.

I had 2 sessions of this, but the wars just came back and started spreading again. I'm female and originally just had them on the area between my having and anus. Well I went back to the clinic yesterday and the woman was awful to me.
Went to the doctor in June of this year and she prescribed with Aldara because she thought it was molluscum contagiosum which I was told to put on 3 times a week. So I started using the cream and noticed no difference on my inner thighs or butt. But when I put it on my labia it turned into a sore and is terribly itching and burning now and now has a lump/bulge. No idea what it is or how I can help the burning and itching which is causing a lot of pain.
I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ? My next step if this doesn't work will have to be the cauterization method, ouch.
I went to the doctor, and they gave me Aldara for HPV. This was in January. Since then, I have had the worst yeast infections, and while one bump is slowly decreasing in size (and has hardened and turned quite red in the process), none of the others are changing size at all, and I am getting more tiny little white bumps within a few inches of the initial three bumps I had. I have genital HPV and I was treating the warts using Aldara. Applied a lot of the cream Monday to the outside of lower labia minora. Wednesday the labia was hard, swollen and really sore. Friday the swelling was reduced and in it place were 2 sore lesions located just inside the labia.
I am now convinced it is herpes from looking at pictures online and reading the symptoms. I am also experiencing tingling down there too! I also have a decreased appetite although this could be from worry.
ve had reactions to the aldara cream but now those are pretty much under control. My concern now is that when I pull my foreskin back to clean myself, it ******* hurts. its like its swollen, somewhat-dry, and it hurts. I've heard horror stories of men having to be circumcized because of complications with the foreskin. Should I be putting on lotion? anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.
However the warts that were still present in the inside of my vagina were treated at the obgyn with Trichloracetic acid because the aldara was not working for me at all.
I'm using aldara right now too, I am a female but my skin has started burning and bleeding too, I talked to my doctor and he said it's normal.
I have been treating anal warts for 8 weeks with aldara and after about 6 weeks i noticed they were slowly shrinking. While the visible warts are indeed shrinking (almost gone entirely), i know that there are internal ones in my anus that are still there, whether or not the aldara is helping them is undetermined.
After a whole week of having this constant itch and burn and continuing to use the Aldara I went back to my Dr. He scared me so bad because he sai "these aren't the bumps you had before, how old is your boyfriend and do you only have sex with him?" I answered yes and that I knew. He did a culture and a blood test and told me to call him in a week because it looks like I have herpes. I started crying on the spot. He prescribed me Herpes meds a cream and pills.
