Avatar f tn I was wondering if taking Zoloft had any effect on trying to get a good deep breaths, i have been having problems and always yawning to get a good deep breath. does any body else have problems like this and also take Zoloft.
Avatar f tn I have been on Sertraline (Zoloft) for over 2 months now, for depression that's borderline bipolar, and I am still yawning and have gotten TMJ. I also keep having to take deep breaths until I can't take in any more air- not yawning-; I am clenching my jaw a lot still and having to open my mouth as wide as I can- again, not yawning- which makes me look a liiiiittle crazy! Anyone know of anything that might stop or alleviate these problems?
545693 tn?1214494153 Both yawning and swallowing difficulties can be seen with MS, but I suspect your yawning, at least, was from the Lexapro. I had severe yawning with Zoloft, so much that I had to come off of it. I also have swallowing difficulties. Sometimes it feels like suddenly I have forgotten how to swallow. Once I get it started it usually is okay. It can be a symptom of anxiety, but for me it isn't. Anxiety is definitely not one of my problems. Stay a while and tell us about yourself.
915119 tn?1341948989 I started on this medication about a week ago. I have noticed that for the last couple of days I have been excessively yawning and I looked it up and it said there are some health problems that cause it. Now I am super worried. Can my depression medication cause this excessive yawing, or should I worry? Please, anyone, more information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn So over the summer i took way too much zoloft, i think i went from not taking any to 125 mg for 5 days. I started yawning alot, my pupils got huge, and i got uncontrollable muscle twitches and jerks. On the 5th day i woke up shivering excessively and just in a complete panicked state. I got off Zoloft immediately and took a long detox period. I tried taking it again, but everytime i did my body went right back into that crazy state.
Avatar n tn I'm in the process of getting off zoloft. I was on it for about a year, and I always wanted it to be something temporary. I feel I've come a long way since I had to start on the drug, but of course getting off it is still going to be difficult. I'm on half of what I was, and the drop downs are hard. But it's not the drop downs which are worrying me right now, but sleep. I can't stop sleeping. I used to use sleep, I guess, as a tool to cope.
516040 tn?1213837018 Hi, this could be either tension headache, migraine or raised intracranial pressure. Best will be to try pain killers along with anti anxiety medication for at least one week, if no relief is seen, do consult neurologist for investigations like MRI etc. Eye fundus examinations can rule out raised intracranial pressure which is characterized by vomiting along with headache and blurred vision.

Avatar f tn I recently started having anxiety symptoms and attacks out of nowhere on a regular basis so my dr put me on Zoloft 50mg once a day. After three weeks on it my dr increased the Zoloft to 100 mg, once a day because I still keep having a lot of anxiety and days where I just feel very depressed (no energy or desire to do anything, etc). I'm getting anywhere from 7-8 1/2 hours of sleep a night but am staying soooo sleepy during the day with constant yawning and just overall feel tired.
Avatar f tn I stared taking 50mg of Zoloft 4 days ago for anxiety. The Dr. told me to take it in the morning. I was having very bad side effects (very tired, excessive yawning, clenched jaw, headache, loss of appetite, shaky hands, dizzy, and increased anxiety) so I called the Dr. and he said I could start taking it at night. Today is the first time I've taken it at night and it seems like right after I take it I feel all these symptoms. I dread taking it!!!
1269044 tn?1393189903 Day 2. A LOT of yawning, watery eyes. Still feeling withdrawn but felt okay. The start of this day I had to tell my wife that this time I was hooked on kratom. I let her down again, and that feeling sucked. But I felt better knowing she supported m. Day 3. Zero energy, achey as all holy he11 just wanted to escape. Bored off my mind. Anxious, depressed, feeling detached from my reality. Oh and the wonderful restlessness at night. Skin crawls. Day 4-6.
Avatar m tn I am a former smoker (Iquit four years ago)in my 40's experiencing excessive yawning. Other than a day or two of real shortness of breath following a flu (H1N1 I think---was not tested) I have no other symptom other than this excessive desire to yawn as if I can't fill my lungs enough to get a good breath in, even tho I can and do. It makes no difference exercising or resting, in fact I notice it more when not busy.
1218873 tn?1300091216 I haven't noticed yawning causing anything, but I have had bouts of uncontrollable yawning. You know how the "polite yawn" feels? You have your lips closed and the yawn is taking place only in the back of the mouth, with the soft palate lifting and a good intake of air through the nose. (A very nice singer's breath feeling.
Avatar m tn Fatigue is a common symptom of Hypothyroid, yawning could also indicate a lack of oxygen or sleep apnea. You could post your recent thyroid labs for members comments.
358304 tn?1409709492 and yesterday I noticed that I could not stop yawning! Like BIG yawns that make me want to gag almost! lol. I think I remember when I tried Lexapro a long time ago it did this to me, but can't really remember. Will this eventually wear off in a week or 2? Thanks! My plan is to get back to the old me without having to take klonopin. I've only been on klonopin 1mg a day for about 3 weeks. I know that's not a lot, but I don't like to stay on benzos too long.
5461254 tn?1368376816 When I said I had been taking Zoloft for about 2 months, he said that he had other patients on Zoloft who had become clenchers. He did NOT say that the Zoloft caused it, but I didn't clench my teeth BEFORE I took Zoloft! I asked my doctor next time I saw him and he also said he had heard of this as a side effect of Zoloft. Both he and my dentist recommended a mouth guard while I slept, which I did get, but I found myself clenching my teeth all day long as well.

Avatar m tn Hi, I've had pretty bad hiv ocd fears! I restarted taking Zoloft 100 mg and was wondering if there is a better med to take for OCD. I've had this for several years. A lot of worry and anxiety over non risk situations! RubyWitch has really helped me w my fears and really has educated me that I didn't have any risks! The OCD keeps me from moving on w my life! Any advice would be appreciated!
Avatar m tn Hi, Been taking effexor for 2 and half years and it worked good for me for the most part. But this past year do to insurance changes went a few times without having any for days. Saw a Dr and got prescribed zoloft. This first week I'm supposed to take half a 50mg of zoloft and take my one 75mg of effexor every second day. Then next week stop taking effexor completely and take one 50mg of zoloft once daily. I've heard from people that coming off effexor is hard.
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with anxiety/panic attacks. I am on zoloft daily and ativan as needed. It seems to be well under control now. Have not had a panic attack on 5-6 months now, but these esophageal symptoms have gotten no better. Heart cath was good. Just recently had an upper endoscopy, all was good. I did have a nissen fundoplication for reflux. My reflux is 100% gone. I can eat things that I haven't for years. It is wonderful, but it did not make these symptoms better or worse.
