Zoloft withdrawal relief

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft withdrawal relief

zoloft

Avatar n tn I had mild anxiety last july 2008 and my family doctor prescribed me buspar. After two weeks I felt very blue, and was put on 50 mg of zoloft. The zoloft didn't seem to help too much. It somewhat cured the depression but not the anxiety. In september, bumped it up to 75(anxiety with school). After another month of feeling like a zombie, I met with a doctor and made the decision to wean off 25 mg every 3 weeks. Weaning off 75 to 50 was pretty easy, felt a little tired the first few days.
Avatar m tn t realize my prescription had no more renews, and it took a week to get that sorted. I missed work today due to withdrawal symptoms. I started back on the Zoloft today. Any suggestions for relief from these symptoms? Thank you!
Avatar n tn I began weaning off of zoloft a month and a half ago. I went from 100 mg down to 25 mg. When I got down to 25 mg the withdrawal became so bad that I would wake up every morning trembling, with diarrhea, naseau, and anxiety. I have lost 12 lbs. I have no appetite. I then switched to 10 mg of celexa. I am having severe headaches, confusion, dizziness, tremors, naseau, lack of appetite and diarrhea. I have only been on the celexa for 5 days. I am also having lots of muscle pain.
Avatar n tn I am now completing my second week on Zoloft. I have been three weeks off of xanax and still my panic symptoms persist. I have taken leave from work and am on my third week away. It seems that panic I experienced while driving which was akin to near fainting/black out has given me a phobia towards driving. I tried to go to work today and only got about twelve miles from home before starting back. I want my old life back.
Avatar m tn I am worried about when I come off of it of what the withdrawl symptoms will be. And wondering when the Zoloft will kick in to work. Xanax seems to be my only relief. Any suggestions? Thanks you.
Avatar n tn Dear Memma, welcome to the medhelp forum. I hope you are doing well. Zoloft or sertaline weaning can cause various withdrawal symptoms like cold sweats, shock like feeling, and difficulty in swallowing properly or choking particularly if you try eating large bites of food. You can get double vision, and bleeding issues. You need to be careful with sudden stopping as serious complications like edema or water collection in lungs and heart failure can develop.
Avatar m tn I was on Zoloft 3 years ago for anxiety and panic. I did not notice any side effects (sexual, physical, emotional), I would dirnk alcohol ans everything seemed fine. I was on Zoloft for 2 years and it worked for me. I stopped about three years ago and i was fine until recently (anxiety, heart skipping beats, fatigue, etc.) as the stress in my life has picked up.
Avatar m tn You are suffering some pretty common withdrawal symptoms, and Zoloft is a drug that most people get some sort of withdrawal from when they stop taking it. For most it passes in a couple of weeks, but in your case, if it's happening as you taper off on such small amounts, you're getting a stronger effect, or at least that's how it sounds. So slow it down -- let your body get used to the lower dose before you drop down, and keep doing that as long as it takes.
Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking Zoloft (100mg once a day) a few days ago. I had no withdrawal at all. This morning I woke up with the most intense vertigo and nausea I've ever had. I have a fear of throwing up so I'm on the verge of tears because I do not want to throw up. I tried eating and I even took 50mg of Zoloft to see if that was the problem. But it's been 3 hours and I'm sitting here at work wondering if I should go home or if it's even safe for me to drive.
10361664 tn?1409609407 Ok now im scared! What do I do?..ive been on Zoloft before about 15 years ago and I liked it I was only on 30 mg of Paxil before I started the taper!
Avatar m tn Today I took 1 Vicodin (Labeled M367, 10/325 norco) I took my last Zoloft 14 days ago. I was on 50 mg Zoloft. I took my first Zoloft pill on December 19, 2014 and I took my last Zoloft pill on January 19, 2015. I'm currently going through Zoloft withdrawals and have many of the typical Zoloft withdrawal symptoms. I was just wondering if taking a Vicodin will interfere with the recovery of my Zoloft withdrawal?
Avatar f tn I used the exact same tapering schedule to wean myself off Zoloft. In my case, I didn't experience any withdrawal effects.

990051 tn?1249190363 whilst I had only been 48 hours without Zoloft (generally my maximum)...I did have the early withdrawal symptoms I experience, except for that "jittery" feeling...when I've missed Zoloft for 2 doses, it usually takes about a week to fully settle...so I'm hoping that the Efexor isn't increasing that and it is JUST the 2 doses of Zoloft that I hadn't taken.
Avatar n tn s the downside of moving immediately from one med to another without completing a nice slow taper from the one first. Especially Paxil, which is known to have a strong withdrawal. If the Zoloft proves problematic, taper it down slowly; don't do this again. And as far as I know, none of these is particularly great for a baby to be born taking. The other problem is that Zoloft hopefully will work, but there's no guarantee one ssri will substitute for another.
Avatar m tn //mentalhealthdaily.com/2014/04/15/zoloft-sertraline-withdrawal-symptoms-list-duration/ I was listening to a song I always use to think was very catchy before I took Zoloft, and now I can't figure out what was so appealing about the song. Do you think that's from lack of emotion combined with the other symptoms I've been having?
Avatar m tn Will my brain and body still heal from the Zoloft withdrawal even if I'm taking Vicodin? Will taking Vicodin interfere with the Zoloft withdrawal process?
Avatar f tn How fast did you go off Zoloft? You may be suffering withdrawal. Did you taper down or just quit? It's not clear from your post. And if Zoloft was working so well, it might be worth the weight gain - all antidepressants can cause weight gain.
Avatar f tn First of all, I don't think Zoloft is approved for use in pregnancy either. Second, how quickly did you quit using Paxil? Switching to Zoloft won't help the withdrawal from Paxil, which is one of the most difficult medications to stop taking particularly after that long. It needs to be done very slowly -- after that long it might take months and months.
Avatar f tn It most likely is withdrawal. It's dangerous to not take these types of medications as prescribed, and you never want to abruptly just stop these types of medications due to withdrawal. I assume and hope that the Zoloft was prescribed by a psychaitrist? If so he would be able to tell you how to taper off. Also, being without the medication may be causing you anxiety, which in turn will cause your current symptoms. All this may also mean you still need the medication.
