Zoloft with hydrocodone

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft with hydrocodone

zoloft

Avatar m tn Short answer: Yes it is safe. Long answer: Vicodin contains paracetamol & hydrocodone, and Zoloft contains sertraline. paracetamol is a non-opioid analgesic, hydrocodone is an opioid, and sertaline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). These classes of drug do not react with each other.
Avatar m tn Ophthalmologist was seen for vision problem in R eye and gave rx for nighttime glasses. Weaned off Zoloft over approx 1 month. Has been Zoloft free for approx 3 weeks. Headaches are worse than ever. Has been taking Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 1x daily for a couple of months with little relief. Later given rx for Butalbital as alternate pain med but pt has only tried a few times. Hydrocodone gives better relief but not full/long lasting relief.
Avatar f tn I always trouble with the side effects. As far as hydrocodone for pain, it never really took the pain away, just changed my mood. Then with time the withdrawal and severe depression set in. Take the time and go to the addiction forum on this site and you will read about the real hell pain meds can cause. They have their place, but should be monitored much more closely.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the quick response. My doctor told me I should not of stopped them CT and spoke to him first about getting off them before seeing the specialist, as I will be having surgery. But I called them him three days after the fact. He said he would of weened them off me. But I thought I would be okay, I also cut them in half and took them throughout the day. Isn't Lorazapam a mind tranquilizer?
Avatar n tn i'm using zoloft (vitamin Z), and it's hard to say from my perspective. I was on Z when I started abusing hydrocodone. I tried weaning from zoloft sometime ago, before hc, and it was hard, different from opiate withdrawals. As "worried" mentioned, could help with the depression, if it surfaces. i recommend asking your doc.
Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
Avatar f tn The more I think about this, the vicodin must be interacting with the zoloft causing the zaps..I've never had zaps come from any of the pain meds I've ever had..Only the antidepressants. Might need to discuss this with your doctor. Might need to switch the pain med or reconsider the zoloft..Because the two seem to be clashing now..
5387794 tn?1373257093 I was on a whole bunch of sh!t before I got pregnant. Hydrocodone, xanax, Zoloft. More but those are the same as you. I quit it all cold turkey the day I found out, I've been struggling greatly without them but I don't want any of that in my babies system. If getting off Zoloft is what you want then I hope you can do it!
Avatar f tn As for the xanax I only take it maybe once a month for a really bad panic attack. Most of the time I try to deal with it on my own. I learned the hard way that the hydrocodone should have been tapered. The prescribing doctor didn't tell me that and I paid for it. I wish I could tolerate the SSRI's but just can't tolerate the worsening anxiety. I wish there was a miracle pill for all us. I feel I am running out of medication options. Thanks for the advice.
Avatar m tn I was originally prescribed hydrocodone 10 twice a day for lower back pain 4 years ago. My pain is now pretty well controlled with Alieve. I continue to use hydrocodone/ib 7.5 in the AM and half that pill in the late afternoon but not for pain. My question refers to a moderate depression I've had for years that only 5mg Xanax relieved. My doctor advised against Xanax use except for emergencies. No anti-depressant worked or had severe side effects.
Avatar f tn I was able to have a sesssion with my addiction counselor and find a doctor who put me on zoloft, as I have a depression and anxiety disorder. After I took the Zoloft, I became very sleepy and totally lost my appetite. He switched me today to Celexa. I haven't taken any yet. Could the problems I'm having be from going off the hydros or taking the antidepressants? Maybe a combination of both?
Avatar f tn This has added to the severe pain I already had. I am currently taking hydrocodone apap and zoloft as my meds. I also have a brain injury. I feel like I am falling apart. Is my limited arm movement from my neck or the tendonitis? Please help thank you.
Avatar m tn Would I have to gradually add these and take simultaneously with Zoloft? Is it safe to take one or both of these with zoloft? If so, what dosage? Also, is it safe to take zoloft while taking natural harmones ( cream)?
Avatar m tn Typically, taking downer drugs, and opiates are downer drugs, make people feel better while they're on them and more depressed when they're not. It's not like taking an antidepressant, which once your brain gets used to it and it works, it keeps working all the time. You don't say if this was prescribed or you're using it on your own.
Avatar n tn I have a question if anyone can help on hydrocodone withdrawal (recovery) along with tapering down antidepressants. I was taking 20+ 10mg of hydrocodone a day, drinking atleast 8beers and then taking 20mg of ambien to sleep. Was tired of pills controlling my life so I got help. It has been a month for me clean (whoo hoo!!). It has definitely been h*#$!!!
Avatar f tn There is no reason you can't take Abilify with Zoloft. I take Abilify with several other medications. It started working within 2 weeks and my depression decreased dramatically. One common side effect of Abilify is akathisia, a restless need to move. I have that but added propranolol and it stopped it completely with no other side effects.
Avatar f tn I have been on Zoloft 25 mg for about 6 months now and I am wondering if I am going to have to take this medication forever or can I get off of it. Also I have recently hurt my back and am wondering if I can take an hydrocodone acetametaphine pill to help me sleep.
Avatar m tn all i wrote last week on this forum when i had started taking zoloft for insomnia/panic attacks and depression. I am one of the fews who went through close suicide call with zoloft. first night of taking it i woke up in middle of night confused and fearful that i will take my life or harm myself. my wife assured me that everything will be ok.. i thought of being a mentallly ill patient. anyways, i ignored it as i was having so many anxiety attacks wondering that it was another one.
1269044 tn?1393189903 I've dealt with gad my whole life too. Zoloft is the first experience with any ad. It seems to be helping considerably. It's not a magic pill but it's helping a LOT. 7 days is awesome! You are through the worst physically atleast. You will get better just give it time. The dreaded word, time. I promise you soon you'll feel much better.
Avatar f tn Thank you for sharing your experience with Celexa. I have a script. I haven't started it yet. I had a hard time with Zoloft & worried that I will have the same SE with Celexa. I am happy this med works so well for you. Hopefully it will do the same for me! As long as I have energy with no weight gain I will be super happy. And of course it helps with the anxiety. *anyone else have an experience with Celexa they want to share please do. Thanks!
Avatar f tn Anyone dealing with Tramadol withdrawl. I mean mental? An how are you dealing with it? I see a psychologist an attend NA when I can. Excercise when I can. But some days good others bad. Any feed back would help. Thanks.
Avatar f tn ve been on prescription painkillers for years and have stolen from family. I have been blessed with not having to score off other people on the street or buy pills. I did buy poppies online once. Been on everything from lortab to dilaudid and I used to love every second of it. Not anymore. I gradually felt like I was drowning and for the first time I was starting to come up for air. I've detoxed before but I've really only quit once.
