374225 tn?1269899262 30 (I take 1, 50Mg Zoloft and 3 50Mg Trazadone) those are the meds and only once at night. How quickly can I taper off of them? Been on them both for 6 weeks and I want off them fast but without the withdrawals.
Avatar m tn I have held the valium taper since August due to diarrhea and decided to taper zoloft but now I am not sure which to taper first. I am at 6.5mg valium down from 12.5mg (was c/t in August also from 9mg and reinstated to 7mg almost immediately).
Avatar f tn was taking zoloft for 6 years went off it recently had bad withdrawels went through it all now im back on 25 grams od zoloft again plus 1 zanax a day been taking this for about 2 weks zoloft one week. my question untill the zoloft kicks in will i get with drawel symptoms from zanax if i contiue to tale 1 a day. i still do get anxiety.
Avatar f tn What you're now on is Prozac. Two problems potentially here. First, you can't just quit Zoloft -- you need to taper off it as most people get some withdrawal from quitting these meds. That most likely explains your symptoms more so than the Prozac. Often, at the tail end of a taper down, Prozac will be used to help when withdrawal is bad because it's considered easier to stop taking, but that's only at the very end of the taper.
Avatar m tn s and 2 weeks on zoloft. quit the zoloft last night, not worried after such a short time, but I am afraid of both a taper and cold turkey on the benzo's.
Avatar f tn Hence I cannot say with certainty that stopping Zoloft will restore the weight. The decision to taper off Zoloft should be based on the clinical symptoms. It is best to take your treating psychiatrist's opinion regarding the weight gain issue. Zoloft can be gradually discontinued over 3-6 weeks. You can reduce 25mg/week for a 3 week taper. If you experience symptoms of the discontinuation syndrome, you may go back to 75mg and try the slower taper (25mg every 2 weeks).
Avatar f tn this is something that only your doctor is qualified to answer...benozs are not to be c/ted and a taper is a must. I know its hard to taper for most addicts, because a taper maens controlling your addiction and addiction means being out of controll therefore making a taper hard for most. Maybe your doctor could suggest something that will work for you. We are all here for you and will continue to be.
Avatar m tn My question is, does my taper make sense or does anyone have advice/experience with successful taper using Zoloft? I don’t trust my Dr. fir advice at this point. He told me Cymbalta was EASY to discontinue but for me it has been hellish. I need advice ASAP as I am starting a new job tomorrow and really scared of functioning in this sickened state. Thank you fir any advice!!!!
20632981 tn?1503687567 re essentially going through both at the same time? My own advice is, taper off the Zoloft as slowly as you need to and when you've successfully quit, move to the Prozac.
Avatar n tn t, then you are putting yourself through something that you do not have to go through in my opinion. When I came off of Zoloft, I did a very slow taper under the advice of my doctor which helped with withdrawals tremendously. What has your doctor told you about coming off of this? Keep us posted!
Avatar m tn I am wondering if I can taper down on the amount of Zoloft I am on. I take 100mg twice a day and I don't like the sexual side effects. I've been on this drug and this amount for years. How much can I go down to to see if the side effects go away and yet still be on an amount that works? This may be a silly question but it's what's on my mind.
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed 100mg of Zoloft to combat ill effects of xanax. I've d/c'd the xanax under her authorization. Sine this time, I've had increased anxiety and panic attacks. I don't know if it's the zoloft or simply withdrawal but my anxiety has increased. I have had the most panic attacks while driving. Anyone have similar experience with zoloft?
Avatar m tn Hi, did you taper from the Zoloft? Do you no longer need to be on Zoloft?
Avatar m tn Does Tramadol have as much SSRI in it as Zoloft? Does 100mg of Tramadol have as much SSRI as say 50mg of Zoloft? I was taking Tramadol while I was going through Zoloft withdrawal and I'm just wondering if I stunted the healing process of my Zoloft withdrawal. My body and mind still don't feel 100% since quitting Zoloft, but it's definitely getting better.
Avatar f tn Now LEXAPRO has pooped out ,I did the same 1 day taper back to ZOLOFT and it seems to be giving me a second stab at the med. GROSSING OVER meds of the same group is easy and painless .I pioneered the method with my GP in ENGLAND ,the only 1 willing to let me try. now they all do it , this method was born in America and I first saw it on PHYCOBABBLE 20 YEARS ago when I was a member .
Avatar n tn s the downside of moving immediately from one med to another without completing a nice slow taper from the one first. Especially Paxil, which is known to have a strong withdrawal. If the Zoloft proves problematic, taper it down slowly; don't do this again. And as far as I know, none of these is particularly great for a baby to be born taking. The other problem is that Zoloft hopefully will work, but there's no guarantee one ssri will substitute for another.
Avatar m tn I am one of the unfortunate ones who take zoloft, so it especially requires a taper. Today, I suffered a set back and a kind of emotional breakdown. I was crying and had scary thoughts. I've been crying more and more leading up to this, expecially in the evening when the wd symptoms came the hardest. Unfortunately, I relapsed as well. I just couldn't take it anymore. I figured it was a combination of not taking my antidepressant, and wd too quickly off my tramadol.
Avatar f tn My PCP prescribed this medication, as well as Zoloft; 5 1/2 years ago. 3 mg xanax per day, 200 mg Zoloft per day. I have since been referred to a psychiatrist, and he upped the xanax to 4 mg a day. Now he wants me to taper off. I have started by dropping .50 , but I am finding it very difficult. Very nauseous, light headed, and rubbery legs. I am also having more severe panic than previously, and my depression is bad. Any input?
Avatar f tn Is it bad to stop taking Zoloft cold turkey? It really works for my anxiety, but I've been taking other meds and I'm afraid of interactions. I take Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and Mobic.
937070 tn?1244921939 i been on and off xanax and zoloft and my brain feels weird, like i been having brain shiver symptons. my brain feels slow and a weird shock sensation, the docotor checked me out and am totally dine everythins is perfect they said.
Avatar f tn I was on Zoloft for 15 years and I stopped for two years in the past year I've been taking buspirone 10 mg and gabapentin 300 mg twice a day it wasn't working very well so I got on trintellix 10 mg for 3 weeks causes serious anxiety,OCD and lethargy and depression. I want to get back on the Zoloft I'm still taking the buspirone in the Gabapentin but it's been 3 days since I've taken the trintellix what do I do? Taper ? Switch?
Avatar f tn I have been taking Zoloft for 8 years for anxiety, stemming from menopause. I've been having discomfort in my upper right quadrant under my ribs for about 6 years. My doctor diagnosed IBS and I've been taking donnatal, which helps. I've recently decided to taper off of the Zoloft and have noticed that my discomfort has diminished. Could it have been associated with taking the Zoloft?
Avatar f tn I've been taking zoloft for 6 months now for ppd. i started feeling like it wasn't helping me anymore, so i stopped taking it about 2 weeks ago. now I have depression worse than before and i have dizzy spells constantly. has anyone else had this happen to them?
Avatar n tn hi, I'm 25 years old and been taking zoloft since the birth of my child and thats been 6 years now, i currently feel like i dont need the zoloft anymore im not depressed or have anxiety anymore but trying to get off the zoloft is harder then i thought, i get night sweats, sweaty palms and feet, i feel like im thinking all the time and feel confused sometimes. are these bad or good. I went from 100mg to 50mg and i want to go lower should i wait?
Avatar f tn You cannot just stop taking Zoloft, there is a warning on the box not to stop without a doctors help it must be done slowly.I'm on 200mg and once I couldn't afford to fill my script I got that bad I went to my chemist he gave me enough to get me through till we got paid and he said don't ever stop like that again,He told me to go see him if I'm ever in the same situation again,I became very suicidal.
