Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft prescribing information

zoloft

Avatar n tn Sertraline is also known as ‘Zoloft’; I was prescribed Zoloft many years ago, but didn’t continue beyond two or three months; I didn’t seem to get any benefit from it-- Bill
Avatar m tn Your best bet for correct information, however, is to talk to the prescribing doc about your concerns, and they can tell you precisely how Zoloft affects diff people. You can also look up side effects of Zoloft in a general search from your home page. But talking to your doc is my best advice toyou.
Avatar f tn s my understanding that Trintellix is typically prescribed for major depression or at least that is what the FDA indication is in their prescribing information. Usage for anxiety is off label. Which doctors do but it may not be the best choice if your main issue is unrelenting anxiety. And combinations are something commonly given, for sure. But you need a doctor to supervise. Is this one doctor that is prescribing these three meds? And why are you on Gaba?
Avatar m tn The best thing for you to do is to give your zoloft prescribing doctor a call and talk about these problems. You cannot simply go off zoloft cold turkey because you could have withdrawal symptoms; I am saying all of this without even knowing how long you have been on it. Give your doc a call tomorrow since it is Friday and then you have the weekend ahead of you. Perhaps you can get in tomorrow or at least get some information over the phone.
Avatar n tn All these posts are so discouraging. does anyone get off zoloft successfully? Please, someone out there, if you have, tell us. If the doctor has seen cases of people who were on it for three or four years and successfully withdrew, please, let us know!
Avatar f tn You didnt say how long you were on the Zoloft...very important information. If it was less than 6mos, you can count yourself fairly lucky and if it was me, I'd ride out the possible withdrawal symptoms you perceive. I really dont understand why you were put on ZOLOFT for anxiety or stress, but I admit we see patients put on antidepressants for all kinds of other reasons now a days.
1665434 tn?1365238898 i have ocd i have been put on zoloft for about a year now at 200mg i have been on theses tables before and went off them but as i said i am back on them a year now and feeling very bad what should i do
Avatar m tn Well, I've been on zoloft for 3 weeks now, if anything I feel worse. I want to try another medication or go back on the effexor that I was on last year. How do I ween myself off the zoloft before taking another med, any advice?
Avatar n tn Primary care physicians are not the most knowledegable when it comes to prescribing these types of medications, a psychiatrist is best. It would help to know what you are taking. Did your PCP do a thorough examination for your symptoms? It's always best to rule out other health issues before assuming it's anxiety. Are you still having the arm problems but just not sleeping? More information would help us to get a better idea of what is happening. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Speak with the prescribing doctor about her response to the Zoloft and ask about other options. Children do not always respopnd favorably to the first medication that is prescribed, but that does not at all mean that there won't be options.
Avatar n tn can i just stop zoloft after taking 25mg 1 week then 50mg the next week .
1948474 tn?1329154264 Headaches are one of the more severe side effects of Zoloft....call your prescribing doctor right away and go from there! Best wishes and I hope you're doing better.
Avatar f tn Have been on Zoloft 25mg for 3 weeks new doc wants to put me on abilify 2mg with the Zoloft to see if it makes it work better. What sort of side effects does this cause and is it helpful?
11487567 tn?1418754128 Thank you for the link and information. She started on zoloft but it gave her headaches. Yes, she has an IEP at school. She was seeing a psychiatrist who prescribed this. Yesterday, I put her only on celexa only and she was much better. I will watch the video and will be looking for a new doctor for her.
6602510 tn?1382882046 s fiance died and I personally ended a relationship - hence his prescribing the Zoloft. Without a doubt it has helped my outlook in a positive way, but my symptoms are still here and getting worse. He did recommend a MRI, but due to the preexisting TBI, my insurance rates for myself alone were in excess of $800.00 a month which I can't come near to paying - so I am uninsured and am self-pay and unable to pay $7k for the MRI.
Avatar f tn I am wanting to start Zoloft again but it interfered with my sleep. Is it safe to take every other day. I find that it does help my depression when I take it this way but I am not sure if it is going to cause more problems by taking it this way. Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn You never stop this type of medication cold turkey. You need to get back on the Zoloft and get a tapering off schedule from your prescribing doctor. It's very dangerous to do what you've done so call your doctor and take his advice on what to do at this point.
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for the advice
324184 tn?1308076203 I have had experience with Zoloft (100mg). SSRIs like Zoloft tend to affect people in different ways. For me, it was extremely helpful throughout the process of learning to confront anxiety and depression. Some symptoms can definitely be from the medication, especially when your start, stop, and adjust the dose. I also believe that we sometimes tend to overemphasize and catastrophicsize our symptoms and link every little problem to the medication. In my opinion, it can be a little of both.
Avatar n tn She recently found out that her insurance would not pay for this medicine. Her Dr. put her on Zoloft without wheening her off of the Effexor XR. She is experience symptoms that include feeling very dizzy and nausea. Is this Dr. correct prescribing her this new medicine without slowly wheening her off of the Effexor XR. Are these symptoms due to her going "Cold Turkey" with the Effexor XR? Please advised.
Avatar f tn I thought that is was due to the medications that he was taking so I called his PCP and ask him he said that he was not sure but the next time he is in the office he will look at it and see. But my question is he takes plavix, aspirin, lisinopril, Zocor, Zoloft, Coreg, lithium, and methadone. I took him off the lithium thinking that was the cause because after doing research sleeping all the time was something major with that drug.
Avatar m tn That has stopped I am now taking around 8mg of xanax a day and 6 mg of clonazepam a day. Plus I take 100mg of zoloft daily. I have been doing this for about the last six months.
1084115 tn?1385228589 IT MAY TAKE TRYING SEVERAL DIFFERENT ONEs to see which one works for you ,I think trazadone and st johns worts are two you need to watch out for but I woud call the company, ask the pharmacy and read the prescribing information. I know remeron is not a big seller here in the states. I would have a psychaitrst prescribe the AD and follow you for a couple of months. Always remember all medicaton has a set of side effect that you may or may not get Just be aware of them.
