Avatar m tn t want a relapse of my PPD by going off the zoloft before the 6 months my Dr. recommended, but can I lose weight while on it? I am trying to keep an healthy diet and exercise but it is not working. Any advice?
8924846 tn?1410572901 And Zoloft has never worked for me.
761653 tn?1266271699 So I'm confused about this... I'm pretty sure that I am going through some form of PPD, but I'm not sure what I need to do about it. I mean I know that I should call my OB, however, I'm not sure what to say to him and/or how to avoid braking down. I hate asking for help and most of all I don't want to become dependant on the meds, if he puts me on any. Along with that I don't want to have a flat mood.
Avatar f tn I took zoloft from week 20 for my 2nd pregnancy since I'd had PPD so bad with my first. No issues with baby and she's now 9 & perfectly fine.
Avatar f tn I've been taking zoloft for 6 months now for ppd. i started feeling like it wasn't helping me anymore, so i stopped taking it about 2 weeks ago. now I have depression worse than before and i have dizzy spells constantly. has anyone else had this happen to them?
Avatar f tn My doctor has just prescribed Zoloft and Ativan to help me cope. I am really worried about the effects on my baby. Is there anyone out there who has been on one or both of these drugs while pregnant. I desperately would like to hear about your experiences.
94902 tn?1330479667 Well I went off of Zoloft while I was pregnant but had to go right back on it after I had the baby bc of Post Pardum Depression and Post Partum Anxiety. I have had an anxiety disorder since I was very young (27 now). Before I was on 50mg but now I am on 100mg bc the 50 wasn't cutting it with the PPD. I have only had anxiety in the past, so this was my first run in with depression.
1415407 tn?1389254933 Yes, talk to your doctor as this may be a sign for ppd. Is the early intervention in your house? If so, it may be the same thing my son is in but will stop in 2 weeks because he will be 3, but they can provide a therapist to come to your house as well and try giving you more resources.
293845 tn?1227997530 I think I have PPD. Tell me if this sounds like PPD.. lately I just feel like I HATE myself. I hate everything about me.. my body, my personality (or lack there of), even my own thoughts. I don't want to see anyone. I get anxious and nervous when I'm around others. My fiance's sister is coming to stay with us and I'm dreading it eventho I really like her. But I don't have a loss of energy, I still clean the house and go on walks.
489656 tn?1249999983 Well, I started on zoloft a few months ago, b/c I have horribly anxiety and panic attacks. It got to the point I was getting depressed. So they put me on 50mg which helped alot. In the past week or so, it has come back as before. She upped my dosage today. to 100mg. I asked if it woul harm the baby, she said no- its her job to protect baby and maother and she wouldnt give me anything that would hurt the baby. Has anyone else taken this much in their pregnancy? If so, was the baby alright? Thx!
Avatar f tn minutes that you COULD be spending in a much healthier state of mind. It takes a week or two for Zoloft to kick in and for you to notice the effects. So the sooner you take it, the sooner it can start working. Good luck, and if you'd like to talk feel free to pm me.
489656 tn?1249999983 Zoloft is a great drug for GAD and I think it's the only drug in it's class that's safe for pregnant women. I wouldn't worry to much, but if any thing weird happens, make sure you call you doc. Have patience with the drug it may take 3-4 weeks to work.
Avatar f tn I am 27 weeks and have been on zoloft throughout the whole pregnancy. My ultrasound was perfect and i feel that if the benefits to you outweigh the risks to baby then you should take it. However, if you are worried about it talk to your doc. Zoloft is very hard to come off of like any other ssri but for me i need it and it's been a huge help. I am told it will also help with ppd which is why i'm on it in the first place.
Avatar n tn For me zoloft is great and every time I stop and start again it works for me... I have been taking it a for a year before pregnancy and I was really good. Now I'm without it and it's very hard.
2193601 tn?1392460637 i had ppd after my son, really bad... inbox if you need to vent hun.
3138931 tn?1350940318 Yes your drs can give you meds for ppd after delivery.
Avatar f tn I asked for something around that time beauase i knew i was getting depressed i was in the hospital at that point and they sent a physcoligist to speak to me who said i was "fine"...i knew i wasn't, a month later it progressed to severe anexity attacks which my husband had to rush me to the Dr. My Dr was very upset that i wasn't given something when i asked for it and said that i was a bigger/better person for recognizing that i needed help then just brushing it aside.
Avatar n tn i am in same problm. i have anxiety and depression. was on zoloft for 6months and stopped and after 1.5 yrs that anxiety came back and i found im also pregnt same time. i tried tofranil it didnt work not back to zoloft today is 10 th day ill increase it to 100. i donno of it will work 2nd time or not. my anxiety is so bad that everyday i want to kill myself. i can not shut my eyes without xanax and all day i suffer from severeeeee continuous anxiety . zoloft is safe for pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I really wanted to ward off ppd and it helped a lot. I also started on 25mg Zoloft. It is generaly thought safe to take after the first trimester. My second son came out healthy and happy. By the end of my pregnancy I was up to 100mg a day. I would recommend also seeing a psychiatrist also to help regulate the meds because that's what they specialize in.
Avatar f tn I always suffer from PPD...now I'm getting terrified BC I'll have my c section in 3 weeks...what meds if any did you ladies take for PPD? The last ones I took didn't helped too Much. Last time I took Zoloft.
202436 tn?1326474333 For someone who may be at very high risk for severe depression (which of course can easily worsen during pregnancy)..or someone with history of severe PPD for example, many times it is adviseable that the Mom take the medication. NO doctor will give you any guarantees...there is just NO way of knowing how each individual outcome will turn out. I CAN tell you that I took Prozac while pregnant with no ill effects.
Avatar f tn They started winging me off of it by cutting my dose in half for 5 days then into 1/4 for 5 days, then to every other day for 5 days and then off of it. Today I am on the 1/4 a pill dose, and I already can feel the affects. I am getting agitated much easier and I am starting to get my anxiety back and feeling lonely. Anyone else go through this? Did anything help?
Avatar f tn Prenatal depression is something that's really serious. It can turn into PPD which can be very dangerous for both mom and baby. It's better to talk about it with your doctor even if it just turns out to be nothing. I have prenatal depression with my second baby and it can throw you for a loop.( I've never had depression in my life) I would cry all day and barely take care of my son. Things that normally wouldn't bother me caused huge fights with my husband.
Avatar f tn Yes moat definitely, I was super bummed out when I found out I was pregnant again. I did everything I could pills and condoms. But it still happened. I was so disconnected from everyone I would just sit and cry and stay in my room disconnected from everyone. I never suffered with depression and anxiety until this pregnancy. I spoke to my obgyn about it several times. About 2 months ago he prescribed me Zoloft 50mg everyday. And I feel soooooo much better. A healthy mom equals a healthy baby.
