Zoloft and tiredness

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft and tiredness

Avatar f tn For those of you on Zoloft, did you notice an increase in anxiety and tiredness when your dose was upped from 50mg to 75mg?
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Zoloft for anxiety about two month ago. It made me nervous, I had insomnia and many other side effects. I then called my Psch, he put me on Paxil. I had even worse side effects. Dry mouth, insomnia, total disinterest in sex, sweating, nervousness... I took Paxil a month. I called the Dr. and he then gave me a prescription for Clonazepam 1 mg. I have taken it for about a week and hate it.
Avatar m tn Over the past 4 months, I have tried zoloft, lexapro, celexa, buspar, and now Zoloft again. I was given the 25mg tabs and told to take half (12.5) due to my body is apparently very sensitive to these type of meds. I was taking it at night, but i could not fall asleep. I would be dog tired, but couldnt flip the switch.
Avatar m tn although i am on the above treatment i continue to have alot of pain in all my joints and muscles and have a tired feeling always.i also notice lots of bleeding under my skin and feel nauseas at times.kindly advice.
Avatar m tn I too take celexa and please give it the time to work .the tiredness will pass. Also do you take any vitamin supplements like the B vitamins? that will help with the tiredness.Depression seems to suck you dry of nutrients as well as make you feel bad everywhere.I have been on the celexa for about 6 years now and I wouldnt trade it for anything.I really dont have any of the side effects you get with other anti depressents Like the tics, tremors, and sexual dysfunction.
118074 tn?1228332603 I have been on Zoloft for about 3 weeks for slight PPD and anxiety. I have been so tired after taking it. I slept from 8:30 to 7:00 this morning. Will it pass? I have an 8 month old it's hard to do that. All I want to do is sleep and I have no motivation.
Avatar m tn Went on Effexor a few months back to try and counter the sexual side effects from zoloft. Gave the med 8 weeks and nearly went insane and I'm not kidding! It was probably the most miserable 8 weeks for me, my husband, and my kids ever. So, I quit that cold turkey and immediately went back on my zoloft. I also don't recommend doing this, but I had to get off that effexor. Luckily, the effexor quickly left my system and my zoloft kicked back in fully within 10 days. Best to you........
Avatar n tn I have just started taking zoloft 50mg, and the 3 side affects that i am noticing are headaches, teeth grinding and definitely tiredness and yawning.
785176 tn?1236420109 hi, i recently found out i was pregnant and my ob nurse told ME to wean myself off of zoloft. I thought that was weird because i have NO clue how to do that correctly, was i misguided medically? anyway, i was at 150 mg and tapered myself off to nothing in about 3 weeks tops. Aside from all the lightheadedness, dizziness, headaches, brain "zaps", nauseousness, tiredness and bouts of hot and cold, I also am experiencing extreme depression and anger. Is this also a withdrawl symptom?
472191 tn?1213635731 So, I urge patience with it in the beginning and work closely with your doctor and therapist about how you feel with it. Now, Zoloft is only part of the picture here; you need to ensure you find a good therapist to talk about your anxiety with. Only by learning about this cycle can you break it. In my opinion, this is the most important step you can take in getting through this. Also, listen to your doctors about the duration of taking it.
Avatar n tn Hi Nursing mom, Call a lactation consultant and have her give you the info on Zoloft. Most drugs are compatible with BF and outweigh the risks. I can tell you that many moms do take Zoloft during pregnancy and nursing. It is one prefered by Doctors. I work in the BF field but for legal reasons I cannot tell you to take it. It is researched in Dr. Thomas Hale's book, Medications and Mother's Milk.
Avatar n tn The Zoloft made me feel emtionless, slow-witted, and dull - like the world was passing me by very, very quickly but I was moving very, very slowly - NOT a good feeling at all but I felt that I needed the Zoloft and so I kept taking it. My mother and boyfried both claim that the Zoloft has destroyed my sense of humor and that I don't see the world as it is and I am apt to agree with them - I just very slow to react and I know it.
Avatar f tn Remember that there is no conclusive evidence as to HOW and WHY these drugs, such as Zoloft work. Or, why they help some people and not others. Scientists do not know why they make people feel better. That is scary to me, they're not sure about their mechanism. Pay attention to the commercials.. they use a lot of "may be" or "it is believed", and so on. Another great book to read (bible-based) is "Depression: A Stubborn Darkness" by Edward Welch.
Avatar f tn I am also experiencing this odd sense of total tiredness. I wake up and feel like I was never sleeping my legs are so tired and my body just wont get going. Once/If I get up I am okay but most of the time I fall right back to sleep and i think this could last all day. And I am sleeping well but just doing it way to much. I am having to take time off work because of this extreme tiredness/laziness I am feeling Any help is useful.

Avatar m tn I have been on 50mg of zoloft for 15 years. I am 54 years old and my weight is at an all time high and I think the drug has stedily added to this for years. I am trying to waen myself off of the drug by myself but I think I need some help. I am down to 25mg every other day.I am feeling some dizziness, numbness in my face, extreme tiredness and very teary though not all at the same time.
Avatar n tn it was mild but it increasing in the 3rd week after i stop when i was on zoloft i also have a bit of tingling and burning feeling but not as much as now...is this normal withdrawl side effect? i research on the net and found relationship between tingling and zoloft....is anyone has any idea how long will it take until this crazy thing will go away and anything i can do to get this symptom out quicker?
1454782 tn?1285262885 You need to go for morning exercises and work out which will make you fresh and active all day and tiredness at the end of day will help you to induce sleep naturally. Pharmacological therapy includes short course of appropriate sedatives and Hypnotics against prescription. Benzodiazepines (against prescription for short term) are effective in sleep disorder and help to maintain the sleep. I suggest you to consult sleep specialist. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! I have been taking cipralex since a week and a half after beeing on zoloft for 3 yrs and a quick try on brintellix. I am doing better since I take cipralex 10 mg. My anxiety and mood are improve and I am greatfull for this. I take it around lunch but by the afternoon, I feel really tired. I go to bed around 10:30 and wake up tiredand a little drowsy. By the end of the night, I wake up a lot. Hope it will go away soon?
Avatar m tn i decided after 2 weeks that i felt like a mess and i was feeling neurotic, so the doctor switched me from the those two drugs to zoloft. After a week and a half on zoloft i realized that happiness came at the price of having no motivation and being a different person. He suggested welbutrane, after one day i'd had enough. And i got back on amphetamine salts.
1756969 tn?1332440763 after the last 72 hours i have had a lot of bouts of diarhea and nauea and pains in the stomach and more fatigue than normal. i called dr and told him i dont want to be on a combo of them. why would a dr put me on 2 dfferent ones together.
Avatar n tn I am currently on 10mg a day, and it can cause anything from diziness and tiredness, to hightend anxiety ocasionally. lexapro can and does work well for me, but there is also a lot of side effects.
Avatar m tn I am not an expert but I can give you a few suggestions. As always ck with your dr. I would try the med at night. Give it a chance. You won't know if it makes your insomnia worse until you try. You should not need to sleep your day away and this will definetly interfere with school. If taking it at night doesn't help with your daytime tiredness and pm insomnia, it is likely that you are on too high of a dose. Some people are more sensitive than others when it comes to meds.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have OCD and GAD. I've been off and on Zoloft for 4 years. 1 year ago, after getting back on SSRI's after being off for 1 year, my Dr. put me on Lexapro. I started to freak out because I had leg muscle twitching. MInd you, I never had muscle twitches before while I was on Zoloft the pervious years. Anyway, the twitching made me more anxious and fueled my OCD.
Avatar f tn I just started back up on my meds yesterday. I went off them when I got pregnant. I was on 50mg of zoloft and wanted to be off meds for my pregnancy. I am now 32 weeks and in the past few day all of my anxiety and depression resurfaced. Before I was preg I was prescribed 100mg of zoloft but only took 50 by breaking them in half as prescribed by the doc. He now has given me 50mg of zoloft and has directed me to start on 25mg to see how I do with that so I break those in half as well.
Avatar m tn I am not rying to be an alarmist I just think Zoloft is dirty and messy and not for me. Good luck to you, call your Dr, and tell them the effect and stand your ground, that is my humble advice.
Avatar f tn Hi again! I'm on week 3, or thereabouts of Zoloft, and I've been suffering a few side effects. Though these aren't too bad, I'm wondering if they are likely to disappear or continue.. I've been suffering some mild insomnia, excess sweating, but perhaps most off putting is the lack of libido and sexual response!! I realise these are listed side effects, but will these resolve themselves or are they something I'm simply stuck with if I chose to continue with the medication?
Avatar n tn The only times I was not taking zoloft is during my second and third pregnancies (and, boy, it was tough). Zoloft has changed my life - and my family's happiness. Just recently I was also diagnosed with ADD. My doc gave me adderall 10mg IR to try. The first day was wonderful - I was able to slow down and focus and much of the frantic feelings I normall have were gone. I even had a calm, "happy" feeliing, too.
Avatar n tn I am curious about the drug Zoloft, the effect on me and the dosage to start out on. I have never taken Zoloft, I have NO medical hx of any heart, repiratory or GI problems. I will give you a run down on my S&S.
