Zoloft and exhaustion

Common Questions and Answers about Zoloft and exhaustion

zoloft

Avatar n tn I have just started taking zoloft 50mg, and the 3 side affects that i am noticing are headaches, teeth grinding and definitely tiredness and yawning.
Avatar f tn Is this reduced mental capacity and concentration and exhaustion due to Zoloft or due to the fact that I suffered two months of constant day and night anxiety attacks and panic and my body is drained???? Will it go away or is this permanent?! I wasn't a very energetic person before but at least I led a normal happy life.. And now I can't seem to shake off this depression and exhaustion.. Someone tell me it gets better.. I'm so afraid to have to switch meds again.

Avatar f tn Oh goodness, you have my sympathy. I've been stuck on Effexor XR as I am on 450mg, above the FDA regulated dose, and can't tolerate withdrawl symptoms at this time. For me when I accidnetally went into withdrawl, I got the cold sweats-extreme, had to be in bed all day, the worst migraine I ever had, and nausea/vomitting. What I do know about Effexor and other anti-depressents is they stay in your system for as long as they took to build up in your system, about 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn After taking it for a few months, I ran out of refills on the prescription this spring, and never scheduled in a follow-up with the psychiatrist. I decided going off the zoloft was just as well -- I had felt very strange the whole time I was on it (I was lazy, unmotivated, and lacked emotion, but felt unstable).
Avatar f tn I am pretty scared right now. I am wondering if if should forget the Zoloft and instead try estrogen replacemnt and something to help me sleep.
Avatar m tn Even when switching from one SSRI to another, I have always found it better to do at least a short taper off before introducing the new SSRI. The info you received regarding how long it will take for Zoloft to start working is IMO wrong. Just because lexapro is an SSRI and Zoloft is an SSRI doesn't mean that it will work instantly. You can expect the Zoloft to still take 3 to 6 weeks before it is fully effective.
Avatar f tn t last more than a few weeks but the exhaustion and depressed feeling lasted for a long time, 6-12 months as I recall though it could have been longer. It didn't just magically go away, it was gradual until one day I didn't worry about it anymore. My daughter is struggling to overcome depression and anxiety that were triggered by an illness (not mono, but either a virus or lymes disease) 18 months ago so it can go on a long time.
Avatar f tn I feel frequent anxiety and depression, racing heart, palpitations, foggy brained, trouble concentrating, panic attacks which results in high BP spikes and tachycardia. I have tried different antidepressants (Zoloft, Amitriptyline, Lexapro) but cannot tolerate them even at the most tiny dose. I have been put on beta-blockers for anxiety, which helps slow the heart rate but not always reduce the BP spikes. I also have a history of multinodular goiter.
Avatar n tn t complain about fatigue/exhaustion anymore! But something interesting happened today when we went to an event and had to park our car pretty far and had to walk quite a bit. He got really REALLY tired, the same way he used to feel a few months ago. It made me think of his job that he had when his symptoms started and when he complained about the extreme fatigue. His job involved tons of walking.
Avatar f tn I have been having really bad anxiety on and off. The Dr. gave me Zoloft and it seems to have helped with my anxiety. But as it is I have a very hard time getting restful sleep. When I do sleep I have ongoing dreams and my mind doesn't get any rest. Now with the Zoloft my sleep is much less restful. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Background: Diagnosed w/ OCD (health obsessions, not compulsions), PTSD, PMDD, panic attacks So after 5 very unsuccessful attempts at managing my extreme anxiety w/ medication (psychiatrist & PCP), my [new] PCP & I may have had a breakthrough w/ Zoloft. I'm currently taking 25 mg (we started low due to my intolerance of other SSRI's), but this time we combined it w/ .5mg of Xanax (.25mg 2x/day).
Avatar n tn I looked up the side effects of Zoloft and tachycardia or any arrhythmia for that matter is not listed. You may want to ask your doctor about this. It could be some anxiety but the Zoloft should be helping with that by now. Take care.
Avatar f tn The insomnia is so bad I get about 3 hours sleep a week and sometimes less than that. I also suffer from hypothyroidism and adrenal exhaustion probably due to the extreme stress I have been under all my life. I have been in therapy most of my life, became addicted to prescription meds at an early age and for 26 years, so am unable to take anything to help with the horrendous symptoms I am having. Most doctors are unwilling to help in any way and I am completely alone. My N.D.
Avatar m tn This is why people new to AA spend so much time calling their sponsors and others -and going to meetings- to get the support they need to deal with feeling like doggie -you know the rest. So now, the GAD is out in the open, and needs to be dealt with. Agreed, that if the course of meds you've been prescribed goes on for ever -and the results are as you expect (low libido, etc) then that's a tough deal.
380558 tn?1309042387 I agree it comes and goes...one minute i'll feel fine and an hour later my arms and legs feel soo heavy...
Avatar f tn i've been having dreams and nightmares for a week solid. Can't get into my doctor for another 12 says. They are going from adandoment, which will never happen. To creepy, to things that make little sense. Waking me up, I don't feel rested. I'm scared to sleep, and I don't know what to do. Other then try and escape reality, or close off from everyone. I'm going crazy, and honestly I don't know what to do anymore.
Avatar f tn She said after nearly 12 hours of sleep she wakes and is still groggy and often wants to go back to sleep. Is this a common side effect of the devvice?
Avatar f tn I never had really any symptoms till I hit about 18weeks or so then the morning sickness came and exhaustion and now just the emotional and hormonal side of it.
Avatar n tn It is not my blood sugar. Do you have any ideas. I have suffered from cfs for 39 years and have vitiligo and asthma. I feel sure it is all to do with gut problems.
Avatar f tn I get up at 5 to read my bible with hubby then cook breakfast and fix lunch then go to work all day when i get off i clean my house and cook and still never get tired at the end.
Avatar f tn You might be developing anxiety about insomnia and when your sleep cycle gets out of order it can be helpful to cut back on time in bed so that you reestablish the association between being in bed and sleeping. And then once you are tired enough that you are sleeping close to straight through when you are in bed you can increase slowly the amount of time you are in bed.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Most likely normal bur you are talking about something a bit more than just normal pregnancy exhaustion in my opinion. If you are gasping for air and feeling like you are going to pass out when exerting to go up stairs, I would mention this to your doctor. Probably fine but worth mentioning. Do you have high blood pressure or anything. I found that in my first trimester, I was like 'wiped out'. Like I wanted to sleep a lot more and could nap at any time.
Avatar f tn When I was expecting my second, my first was about the same age as yours, he wasnt much of a daytime sleeper but I found that if I put him in the car and went for a drive he would nod off and I could then go find somewhere to park and have a quick snooze myself!
