Avatar f tn I really fell off of my exercise regimen after getting pregnant but I do try to at least stretch every day, do a touch of yoga, and do some leg and arm lifts and curls with light weights.

Avatar f tn Pick up some prenatal yoga DVDs, or look for videos of orenatal yoga online, they will show you all the postures and flows and the modifications for each trimester. Basic kegals involve squeezing your pelvic floor muscles tightly and holding for a count of ten, repeat 20 times. Do that about 5 times a day every day. You can also hold them at different levels (as I'd going up and down an elevator 3 or 4 stories then stopping and holding at each level.
168348 tn?1379357075 Congratulations on joining the Y - I wish there was one near me (there is one in town, but WAY out of my way to get to). I'm glad you are going to give the yoga a try. I'm sure there should be some poses that you can do that won't be too hard on your ankle. You might also find it beneficial to wear some type of elastic support (such as ace bandage, etc).

738075 tn?1330575844 I sure can, about the yoga and balance. I sort of flunked out of yoga a couple of months ago. My arms and legs shook too, and I had to hold onto the back of a chair half the time. PT did help the balance quite a bit, so you may want to look into that. I even got better at the tandem gait (heel to toe drunk driver test). At least I could tandem 'stand still' after quite a few PT sessions. Good luck on your LP. Mine was truly the merest nothing, done in a hospital under flouroscopy.
Avatar f tn I've had it w all 3 of my pregnancies. It's miserable. You can't really take anything for it-Tylenol doesn't do anything. Yes a chiropractor can help. What really helped me was stretching & yoga. Stretch every night & a fee times a day. Yoga poses that really helped are the warrior pose, the pigeon, & child's pose. Look them up online-but it's the only thing that helped me.
139792 tn?1498585650 Another area that greatly benefits from the practice of this yoga pose is the sexual organs of both men and women. You can practice Uddiyana Bandha for many kinds of sexual problems and dysfunctions. Women can do this pose to reduce PMS pain during their cycle. It is good for the ovaries and the fallopian tubes and to prevent uterus collapses. If you suffer from irregular menstruations cycles or other genealogical problems this position might be a solution for you if you practice it regularly.
Avatar f tn Ive done yoga in the past and enjoyed it but havnt done prenatal yoga. I will be starting a prenatal workout class in 2 weeks though that im excited about. Avatar n tn I usually use the dead man's pose at the end of my yoga time or the child's pose which also feels good.
Avatar n tn Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose): Lie down on the floor with your chest placed against the floor. Raise your upper body, pressing your palms against the floor. Your face should be pointing the roof and your forearms should be perpendicular to the floor. Gowmukhasana (Cow Pose): Sit in a half-lotus pose, stretch your right arm upwards, twist it backwards and lower it to touch the upper part of the back. Simultaneously, twist the left arm and move it backwards and upwards to touch the right arm.
Avatar f tn I have a quick question about this particular part of the journal by Nursegirl. "Medical Exposures. You cannot and will not EVER be infected by a medical procedure, like having your blood drawn, or an IV inserted. Medical professionals do NOT re-use needles, period. Mainly because if they did, they would be placing themselves at risk for all kinds of infections, and they simply wouldn't do that.
9536744 tn?1414122031 The chance of bub flipping is about 50%, in saying that there is a small chance that bub can flip back. Personally I think thats fairly good odds, I went in to have a version done but they wouldn't do it for me due to my bub being IUGR. Cesareans aren't as bad as they sound and I never ever wanted one.
Avatar f tn I had my first... Super easy pregnancy, no sickness, very few aches or pains. The 2nd was born 5 yrs after, and I had so much hip pain. Now prego with my 3rd (the two little one will be 19 months apart :-0) my last two pregnancies I get sooo much hip pain, this time it started around 22 weeks (26 wks now). What REALLY helped was stretching (yoga) if you don't have time to do a full pregnancy yoga class (I just have a home DVD-no time for a class).
Avatar f tn I tried it and it didn't help me at all. The cat cow yoga pose did.
Avatar f tn Yes, my hips have hurt forever all of my pregnanies. With my 1st baby I had sciatica pain. My left hip hurts so bad I wake up in pain. Your body produces the hormone relaxin which helps relax Ur hip muscles so the baby is able to pass through. What helps emensly is walking regularly (I waddle a little at 1st) and stretching. I started doing yoga too. I'm 34 wks now.
Avatar n tn The most common cause of popping joints is joint friction. when two pieces of bone in a joint, such as a ball and socket, rub against one another as you move. Sometimes it is also cartilage rubbing on bone. According to yoga instructor Paul Grilley, writing for Yoga Journal, joint friction is usually no cause for concern. You might not want to go out of your way to do it, but in the normal course of life it is harmless.
2143641 tn?1396678143 thank u both. doctors said I have nothing, they just dumped me. MRI only showed sinusitis. although they did spot something on the left tibial on the EMG and they found high C3 which I never checked again. This numbness in the fingertips for me it seems to be a symptom "on the way" to healing of the left hand.
Avatar f tn I have severe arthritis in virtually every joint in my body, but a night sleeping with my neck in a "bad" position can create so much pain, stress and tension, I want to scream or cry and sometimes did both! I wasn't into Yoga until a friend saw me wincing every time I moved my head.
Avatar f tn OK I'm a ftm and I'm 18w 2days , my back is killing my all day from sharp pains to just sore pain in my lower back.
Avatar n tn But, if you want to be proactive, your can spend a lot of time on your hands and knees doing pelvic tilts, or with your butt in the air (downward facing dog yoga pose...or as close as you can get at 33 weeks. Haha). Putting ice on the top of your stomach and warmth on the bottom can help some babies turn, as can rubbing diluted peppermint oil on the top of your stomach a few times a day. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I use to do yoga and stop when for the first month of pregnancy because of morning sickness getting worse with some pose. I m looking for antenatal yoga classes now but as my back hurts really badly and at night as well, I start to do some at home watching utube video. Works well. I really feel better.
Avatar f tn Ur body starts to produce a chemical called relaxin to soften joints so the baby can pass through. Some stretching will help. I do some yoga pregnancy poses-warrior pose, pigeon etc.
