Avatar f tn I do some yoga. I tend not to do an entire program but I do use some poses and occasionally pop on my prenatal yoga CD for a bit. I enjoy cat/cow and tree pose and downward facing dog and child's pose a lot. Hip rolls and torso twists. Also do some modified planks now. I really fell off of my exercise regimen after getting pregnant but I do try to at least stretch every day, do a touch of yoga, and do some leg and arm lifts and curls with light weights.

Avatar f tn Pelvic tilts are basically going from cow pose to cat pose, but don't go deep into cow pose, stay shallow. Focus on cat pose with hips and back arched. Rolling hips slowly around like a hula hoop is good. Wide squats are good for flexibility and leg and glute strength, but sometimes aggrivate my sciatic. Swinging your arms as they dangle at your sides, in a circle, stretches your back and whole middle body. Rolling ankles helps blood flow and soreness.

738075 tn?1330575844 Hi, All, I saw my neuro for a three month checkup. For the past two weeks, I've had more urinary surprises, more L'Hermittes, and just really weak. Climbing a flight of stairs feels like I've run a marathon. Bike riding is now without hills, and my arms and legs shake in Yoga if I hold my poses for more than 1 - 2 breaths. An balance poses? Fuhgeddaboudit. Anyway, I still have bilateral Babinskis, hyper reflexia, and now, I've flunked heel - toe and Romberg's.
Avatar n tn Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose): Lie down on the floor with your chest placed against the floor. Raise your upper body, pressing your palms against the floor. Your face should be pointing the roof and your forearms should be perpendicular to the floor. Gowmukhasana (Cow Pose): Sit in a half-lotus pose, stretch your right arm upwards, twist it backwards and lower it to touch the upper part of the back. Simultaneously, twist the left arm and move it backwards and upwards to touch the right arm.
Avatar f tn I tried it and it didn't help me at all. The cat cow yoga pose did.
Avatar f tn I've had it w all 3 of my pregnancies. It's miserable. You can't really take anything for it-Tylenol doesn't do anything. Yes a chiropractor can help. What really helped me was stretching & yoga. Stretch every night & a fee times a day. Yoga poses that really helped are the warrior pose, the pigeon, & child's pose. Look them up online-but it's the only thing that helped me.
Avatar f tn I have a quick question about this particular part of the journal by Nursegirl. "Medical Exposures. You cannot and will not EVER be infected by a medical procedure, like having your blood drawn, or an IV inserted. Medical professionals do NOT re-use needles, period. Mainly because if they did, they would be placing themselves at risk for all kinds of infections, and they simply wouldn't do that.
Avatar f tn I had my first... Super easy pregnancy, no sickness, very few aches or pains. The 2nd was born 5 yrs after, and I had so much hip pain. Now prego with my 3rd (the two little one will be 19 months apart :-0) my last two pregnancies I get sooo much hip pain, this time it started around 22 weeks (26 wks now). What REALLY helped was stretching (yoga) if you don't have time to do a full pregnancy yoga class (I just have a home DVD-no time for a class).
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is also cartilage rubbing on bone. According to yoga instructor Paul Grilley, writing for Yoga Journal, joint friction is usually no cause for concern. You might not want to go out of your way to do it, but in the normal course of life it is harmless. 649848 tn?1534633700 com/yoga-lower-back-pain/ I know the best poses for the back are the downward dog, child pose, pigeon pose, triangle pose, cat pose, and some others. These will all help stretch the muscles too and I wouldn't be surprised if you lost weight doing them, as well. My favorite yoga DVD was "Yoga for Weight Loss" I did it every day for months and I realize now it's actually what kept me from gaining more weight than I did while my thyroid was dying off.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have severe arthritis in virtually every joint in my body, but a night sleeping with my neck in a "bad" position can create so much pain, stress and tension, I want to scream or cry and sometimes did both! I wasn't into Yoga until a friend saw me wincing every time I moved my head.
Avatar n tn Hello sir, Sorry for my English, I have been diagnosed with "early hernia" at the left side of the triangle area below my belly button, it's not a "real hernia" (I think), I mean no organs went out yet, but looks like the area is so weak that the left side is a bit higher than right side (of the triangle), I'm a male, 27, used to do about 20-30 minutes of ab workouts 3 days/week for the last 4 or 5 months, maybe I did something wrong coz I can't remember I never
Avatar f tn Prenatal yoga can help a lot. Until you get to a class try some cat/cow, pigeon, and hamstring stretches. You can find lots of videos on YouTube demonstrating how to do them. I'm 22 weeks and still work out and do yoga. Have had plenty of symptoms but hardly any back pain.
Avatar f tn Rest and some tylenol is the best I can offer for this weekend. I highly recommend prenatal yoga classes. I went to an 8 week series and they teach you great stretches for you back and hips to help the soreness and strain. It's worth looking into for natural relief.
9536744 tn?1414122031 There is a yoga pose called downward dog and child's pose. Basically get on your hands and knees, let your head to the floor and hang out there for a few. Do that a few times a day. It helped me turn my son.
5793521 tn?1378043101 Look up the yoga position" child's pose" its the only thing that gives me relief
Avatar n tn When I was around 18w I did a lot of what I can only describe as a yoga pose ... sitting on your knees and lean foreword stretching your arms in front of you. I hope you start feeling better.
168348 tn?1379357075 Congratulations on joining the Y - I wish there was one near me (there is one in town, but WAY out of my way to get to). I'm glad you are going to give the yoga a try. I'm sure there should be some poses that you can do that won't be too hard on your ankle. You might also find it beneficial to wear some type of elastic support (such as ace bandage, etc).
Avatar f tn Yes, my hips have hurt forever all of my pregnanies. With my 1st baby I had sciatica pain. My left hip hurts so bad I wake up in pain. Your body produces the hormone relaxin which helps relax Ur hip muscles so the baby is able to pass through. What helps emensly is walking regularly (I waddle a little at 1st) and stretching. I started doing yoga too. I'm 34 wks now.
