I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.

I was on Lo Lo Estren and it was perfect but insurance wanted a generic so I was given a generic for Yaz. Now I am losing my mind! I am super anxious all the time and suddenly jealous of every woman that my husband works with. I obsess over silly things that I would never worry about before. I am switching back ASAP but I was wondering if anyone else has been through this with Yaz as well. I don't know how long I can take this until the pill is out of my system!

i had a little for the first time before my last period and then now i havent had my period for a week and a half and i got the the same thing but more now im on the generic version of yaz and it says there could be spotting is that blood with regular discharge or and infection? should i be worried?

Hi, I'm new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.

and went from 101 to 116 lbs. After the first two cycles of being on Yaz, I gained a cup size. I feel bloated ALL the time, and look it too, all through my cycles, and more so when I have my period. Even after lifestyle changes (more exercising, watching calorie intake) it still feels like there's a layer of puffiness and bloating covering my whole body! Anyone have any suggestions?! Help please, this is starting to make me feel miserable.

5 months and was recently switched over from yaz to gianvi which is the generic brand of yaz. I had no choice. I had my period around the end of the month and into the beginning of this month like normal. I started spotting around 2 weeks before my next period and its lasted about a week now. Its a brown discharge like color sometimes with little red blood and very small clots. I have tiny cramps sometimes. Is this normal? Why is this happening?

Has anyone had yeast related complications from Yaz or its generic forms? (i.e. Loryna) I've been suffering from persistent yeast that correlated with my switching to Loryna and I wonder if the two could be related.

If you asking on behalf of a female contemplating the use of the contraceptive product called YAZ or already using YAZ, please tell her that YAZ has been found to be a questionable product for birth control. By questionable , this is what I mean. I have seen commercials where lawyers are telling women who have used YAZ and have suffered severe side effects from using YAZ that they are entitled to a settlement. I conclude that the product YAZ can , in some cases, cause severe side effects.

I was on yaz for a few years, and then I switched. The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.

I have taken Yasmin(same as Yaz) and generic forms of it for several years, now. I take them continuously, so I never go off the active pills, to repress my periods. They have helped my moods, helped my PMDD, and cleared up my face. I occasionally have breakthrough bleeding and so I go off of the pills for a week when that happens, and have a period. My periods have always been horrible and clotty and painful. Same when I have them now. I have about 2 a year, and that is perfectly fine.

I would stop taking Yaz definately! There is lots of bad things going on with Yaz it could be counteracting with the Prozac also..im surprised the Dr has not took you off! I hope we dont scare you more but you really need to do research on Yaz and give it to your parents and Dr! Good luck sweety and keep us updated please!

I meant unclear exactly what kind of thyroid problem -- ie thyroiditis vs hot nodule vs graves vs abnormal labs of uncertain significance......vs possible pituitary issue.... would see an endocrinologist to sort this out. It is an unusual situation to have consistently normal TSH/T4 and high T3.

I’m not sure if Kaiser is yanking my chain and just wanting me to take a generic BCP, the only thing I can find is a study published recently in the British Medical Journal. But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?

I stopped yaz for a month then started it again. I also had the same symptom after starting yaz again. My doctor change my birth control bill back to Ortho Tri- Cycle Lo this month.

One minute I am on top of the world with a ton of energy and the next I want to climb in a hole. I started on Yaz birth control about 4 months ago. I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.

No, I did not suffer from depression or anxiety prior to taking yaz. I started Yaz on a Thursday and by Sunday I was super excited to see my boyfriend and then that night and the following day its like someone flipped a switch on me..I just felt weird all the time..even with him. Do you know why that is? I started taking Cypralex a month into taking Yaz. I did go off Yaz within 9 days because i thought something was weird...

A couple of weeks ago I decided to go off the pill (Yaz) because I was wondering if it was making me feel sick (I've been taking the pill for over a year now). I was just wondering a) if anybody else has felt sick on Yaz; b) if going off it helped; and c) how long it took for the pill to get out of your system? Thanks for any help. (I'm 18).
