Common Questions and Answers about Yaz new generic

yaz

Avatar f tn I was on Lo Lo Estren and it was perfect but insurance wanted a generic so I was given a generic for Yaz. Now I am losing my mind! I am super anxious all the time and suddenly jealous of every woman that my husband works with. I obsess over silly things that I would never worry about before. I am switching back ASAP but I was wondering if anyone else has been through this with Yaz as well. I don't know how long I can take this until the pill is out of my system!
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar f tn i had a little for the first time before my last period and then now i havent had my period for a week and a half and i got the the same thing but more now im on the generic version of yaz and it says there could be spotting is that blood with regular discharge or and infection? should i be worried?
Avatar n tn Well my gyn nurse practitioner called and I guess there is new evidence out that Yasmin is causing causes more blood clots than other BCPs, and this is a risk that increases as you get older. She’d like me to switch BCP. Which is not as straightforward as she thinks. I’m not sure if Kaiser is yanking my chain and just wanting me to take a generic BCP, the only thing I can find is a study published recently in the British Medical Journal.
Avatar f tn 5 months and was recently switched over from yaz to gianvi which is the generic brand of yaz. I had no choice. I had my period around the end of the month and into the beginning of this month like normal. I started spotting around 2 weeks before my next period and its lasted about a week now. Its a brown discharge like color sometimes with little red blood and very small clots. I have tiny cramps sometimes. Is this normal? Why is this happening?
Avatar f tn going to the #2 is a horror in itself. I figure I am done with Yaz! I start a new month today and the pharmarcy still has me on Yaz because the names are similar I guess. 8. I still have night sweats from when I was on nothing 9: Both Yaz and Yasmine have similar formulas. Yasmine has a higher level of ethinyl estradiol (10ug more than Yaz) . Gianvi is the same formulation as Yaz, execept in generics fillers are different.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had yeast related complications from Yaz or its generic forms? (i.e. Loryna) I've been suffering from persistent yeast that correlated with my switching to Loryna and I wonder if the two could be related.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Ocella (generic for Yasmin), I have been on it for almost a month, I start the inactive pills tomorrow night. Before I took Ocella, I was taking Yaz(and I switched immediatly). My last period lasted for 3-4 days. I should start my period on March 11th. Yesterday I had light pinkish/red blood when I wiped and some cramping and now I am having light brown discharge that is odorless. I have not missed any pills, and I do have unprotected sex.
17396631 tn?1456315815 My gynecologist put me on Ventura birth control pills (generic form of Yaz) with the intent to stop my periods because they caused me extremely painful cramps and depression. I've been taking them exactly as directed for the past three months. Every morning between 7am and 7:30am, never skipping a day, and starting a new pack instead of taking the placebo pills. For some reason I had two full-length, excruciatingly painful periods that were only two days apart.
Avatar f tn I was on yaz for a few years, and then I switched. The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.
Avatar n tn I have a question about the birth control pill. I am currently on Yaz and have been for about 6 months now. Last month, I missed a pill but made it up the next day when i remembered. I did this two times the entire month but on seperate weeks (both times making up the pill the next morning). I also was not able to take it at the exact same time each night due to busy schedule.
Avatar f tn I am starting a new birth control...I was on Yaz, but it had me feeling extra odd. I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
1871430 tn?1320266337 I was on yasmin (generic yaz) for abou 6 months.
Avatar f tn I use Yaz birth control, and I start a new pack every fourth Tuesday. Last Monday (September 20th) I started my period, and it finished on Thursday. This past Monday (the 27th) I started missing pills. I missed Monday's, Tuesday's, and Wednesday's, and today is Thursday the 30th. Upon freaking out, I took two pills -- Monday's and Tuesday's. I plan on taking Wednesday's and Thursday's tomorrow, and Friday's and Saturday's on Saturday. Is that right?
Avatar m tn So, I am 21 and pregnant with my first child. I think I'm some where between 8-10 weeks(find out for sure tomorrow). I was taking the lo lestrogen pill for birth control, had a feeling something wasn't right....intense cramping, weird spotting, sore breasts,an obvious change in the way I was dreaming, etc. A friend suggested I take a pregnancy test and much to my surprise, it came out positive! To get to the real question, which birth control should I switch to after my baby is born?
Avatar f tn Unfortunately this past week has been the worst yet. I started a new job and every day at my new job I woke up in the morning with the worst feeling of panic and an absolute dreadful feeling of going into work. This is a great job and great opportunity and there's no reason for me to feel this way. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with panic and anxiety as a result of yaz? And have you found that it even got worse when you took yourself off of it?
Avatar f tn I tried Yaz for three months and just quit with a whole new unopened pack I'm not going to use. My trouble was intestinal distress. I couldn't eat anything without being sick--burning feeling in my gut, cramping, diarrhea, indigestion, gas, bloating. That was everyday all day long. I tried taking it first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Nothing stopped the diarrhea until I stopped taking it.
Avatar f tn Hello, last month instead of my period I experienced brownish spotting--it started a day before my period usually begins (though it has started a day early before), and only lasted 2-3 days at most. It only appeared when I wiped. It seemed odd but I assumed it was just a light period (no pain or anything unusual like that). This month, my period is late--only by 2 days, but in light of the weird period from last month I took more notice.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Lexapro for mood and maxalt for headache by PCP ( have been on numerous triptans for the last ten years for good control) When my perimenopausal symptoms began to increase hot flashes, sleep difficulties and mood, I was placed on Yaz. It has overall been great. Controlled by anxiety except for right before menses.
Avatar f tn I am on Yaz and have been on it for almost 2 months before I started taking Yaz I was on the Depo shot. On my second pack of Yaz I missed two pills one on Monday and one on Wednesday I took them right when I remembered to but I'm afraid maybe I could get pregnant ..what are the chances??
Avatar f tn I would definatly consult your family physician or your OBGYN about a suitable birth control for you. I took Yaz a few months ago for a short period of time(just a week and a half) and it messed with my emotions and feeling like crazy. I strongly suggest you don't use Yaz. I still don't feel like myself even though I am off the pill. If you like being happy, don't use Yaz, please, its not worth it. I have not heard many good things about Yaz since I have taken it.
1167457 tn?1291860189 Hi everyone! I'm new to this group and I was just diagnosed with PCOS. My husband and I have been TTC for about 6 months and haven't gotten our BFP yet. My doctor prescribed me with Metformin. I guess I'm just wondering about side effects......also is there any food I should be eating or avoiding when on it?
Avatar f tn now my doctor wants to put me on birth control, which what ever, nothing else has worked why not try it again. But my concern is the type of birth control that it is. YAZ!!! I have done very little research about it but what I have found shows that there are more people out there that have negative things to say about it. I have heard people talk about migranes(sorry for spelling) blood clots kidney failrue, which really scares me and horrible moodswings.
