Avatar f tn A blood test will check your hormone levels and if very low u can have low dose of hrt to correct most things. I tried it but sent me loopy ha so still trialing herbal stuff.
Avatar f tn But is my yaz birth control still usable for preventing pregnancy? I'm just concerned because it was prescribed by my dermatologist. I'm scared that because I'm on a low dosage and it wasn't prescribed for preventing pregnacy that I will be pregnant. Do you know if it's the same thing no matter what it's prescribed for and the low dose can still be used for preventing?
Avatar f tn I have trouble with my thyroid so they put me on Levoxyl 50 MCG. She said they will start me out on low dose and move up if they need too. My B 12 is not looking great. They put me on B-12 vitamin 100 MCG. She said my test results look like I may half to go on shots for B-12. It looks like my bodies not storing it. I just want to start feeling better. She said maybe I should try to go off of yaz and see if that is casuing some of my problems.
Avatar n tn Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety. I was prescribed Lexapro for mood and maxalt for headache by PCP ( have been on numerous triptans for the last ten years for good control) When my perimenopausal symptoms began to increase hot flashes, sleep difficulties and mood, I was placed on Yaz. It has overall been great. Controlled by anxiety except for right before menses.

This is why females with migraines should not use any estrogen containing birth control methods. They should only be resorting to the progesterone containing methods like depot Provera injections that you had used.
Avatar f tn Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Regards.
Avatar f tn I am on Yaz and have been on it for almost 2 months before I started taking Yaz I was on the Depo shot. On my second pack of Yaz I missed two pills one on Monday and one on Wednesday I took them right when I remembered to but I'm afraid maybe I could get pregnant ..what are the chances??
Avatar f tn m on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.
Avatar f tn No, I did not suffer from depression or anxiety prior to taking yaz. I started Yaz on a Thursday and by Sunday I was super excited to see my boyfriend and then that night and the following day its like someone flipped a switch on me..I just felt weird all the time..even with him. Do you know why that is? I started taking Cypralex a month into taking Yaz. I did go off Yaz within 9 days because i thought something was weird...
Avatar n tn i am on yaz and i am supposed to start my white pills in two days..today i saw some blood in my underwear what could this mean? is this normal?
Avatar m tn I was on yaz once but the hormones made me go crazy so I was put on a low dose birth control and got preggers. I am left wondering the same thing. I am thinking a diaphram might be the best bet for me after baby.
Avatar f tn The symptoms of non-classical CAH are treatable with very low dose glucocorticoids. This type of treatment may be optional and need not be lifelong." Did you have the genetic test to confirm the LOCAH (aka nonclassical CAH) diagnosis? Let us know how the Yaz works out!
Avatar f tn After being diagnosed with endo I was put on a low dose BCP called Marvelon. I take it continuously without taking a break. I have found that it has helped me alot. If i come off it I think I will go mental (as i have tried before) I have heard alot of bad things about YAZ and I was also told that BCP are not responsible for weight gain. If you are gaining weight I would ask for another Ultrasound to see if you have any cysts. I totally understand how you feel.
Avatar f tn No they are not the same. Yasmin or Ocella is a lower dose of birth conrtol, while Yaz is prescribed more often to those who suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder). Yasmin is one of the best birth control pills out there for those who suffer with PCOS. I've been on it for 2 years, with a break of 6 months. I just started a new pill pack this month again. I too suffer from migraines, but the pill does not give me any.
Avatar f tn I hate to second guess my doctor, but I am wondering how a lower dose can do better for me than Yaz? Also, I have been extremely depressed since a month or two after starting Yaz, and I turned down anti-depressants in hopes that a new medication will help with that. Does anyone know anything about personal experiences with loestrin 24 and depression?
Avatar n tn I am constantly tired and have a very low sex drive which is not like me at all . I will not be taking any more Yazmin pills after this pack.
Avatar f tn Hi, my girlfriend and I are both 19 years old and we have been dating for about 2 years. We decided it'd be smart if she got on birth control just because it's not worth messing everything up with a pregnancy at our age. She was taking ortho tri cyclen and everything seemed fine, but her doctor switched her over to Yaz and ever since then it's been horrible. She's always got very bad mood swings, and her sex drive is ZERO and it hurts when we do it.
Avatar n tn After speaking to a doc once i used to say you cant get pregnant on the pill, if you take it correctly and do as adviced then you wont get pregnant.......... i took mine at the same time every day, was never sick or on antibiotics, never missed one, i then went on the depo, i didnt have sex until after the advised 7 days, probably longer than that..... then i started noticing things like my nipples getting bigger and darker, asked the nurse and she did a test as a precaution....
Avatar f tn FRUSTRATED. I'm so I'll. And so easily irratated right now! I started yaz a month ago and was pretty consisitant! Now no period... As of now 3 days late- at one day late I tested just to make sure so I could stop BC but now still no period! I've had cramps for over a week now! I'm getting so irratated.
Avatar f tn Usually if someone is on birthcontrol pills, you will require more thyroid medication. Estrogen interferes with the binding of the thyroid medication. Just try to take the lowest dosage possible of birth control. If your thyroid is regulated properly, your pms should get much better if that is an issue. I haven't heard many good things about Yaz or Yasmine....my doctor wanted me on Yasmine until I said no way. I am now on low dose microgestin.....
Avatar f tn The only meds she was taking at the last blood test was Prevacid for nausea. Before that she was taking Yaz for irregular periods, but since being off the Yaz, the T4 has not really gone down. Her other symptoms are: constipation, weight loss, extreme fatigue, nausea, fluttering in chest/throat and most recently pressure in her head (squeezing feeling on top and sides). Does this sound like anything anyone has heard/experienced.
Avatar f tn 5-12) and T3 uptake 17 (23-35). Incidentally she has been on Yaz for 4 years for excess androgens. Recently, her cholesterol(280) and triglycerides(244) have gone thru he roof. She doesn't drink or smoke, is not over weight and rarely drinks a soda. She has been complaining of being dizzy and has lost a ton of hair. My mother has hashimotos hypothyroid. Does this sound thyroid related?
