Yasmin and Yas are new types of hormones that other pills don't contain, but that does not necessarily mean they are going to be better for everyone. These two are still under "brand" name and therefore will be many more times as expensive for you than another option. I take the generic version of "loestrin FE 1.
Avatar f tn If you dont want to take bc pills you can either use condoms or maybe an IUD. Im not sure. Talk to your doctor. Yasmin is a low dose bc pill, so maybe that one might work.
Avatar n tn I too am on Yasmin, but never had any problems while taking them. I was told that Yasmin bc is the best choice given to those with acne problems and pcos. It's a mild dose of bc. Try to give yourself 3 months to regulate it in your body. Consult your doctor if you have serious side affects. Are you taking any other meds for your pcos? I'm also on Metformin for weight issues. I started my journey in September 2008 at 333lbs and I am now at 272lbs.
366262 tn?1360031596 B12 is in meat in the highest amounts. That's why vegetarian's often are low. You can also get b12 you put under the tounge. How low is low?
864198 tn?1239188205 t get sick. Also try Yasmin. Yasmin is a low dose bc pill, works great for me. I had no breakthrough bleeding or side effects. Also if you have acne (i did) Yasmin is a good pill that will help clear your breakouts. Good luck on this and if you ever need any other info, just let me know and i'll try to help!
Avatar f tn Another option to consider is the Paragard IUD. It doesn't have hormones and the only thing you might get is heavier periods/cramping--but this doesn't even happen to all women. The only thing about low dose birth controls is that you have to take them perfectly. There is no room to mess up, as they're very easy to fall pregnant on if you do.
Avatar n tn I also am on Yasmin birth control due to menstrual issues, I am on Metformin due to insulin issues. I am wondering when the Armour will help and will it help be able to come off the two other medications. I do have adrenal problems and take Adrenogen, DHEA, fish oils and vitamin D for a vitamin D deficiency. I was told that Armour can help with alot of this, is that true?
Avatar f tn Its becoming 5th Month now on Yasmin but still i have very low flow and last only for two days. I took the second opinion from another Gyne at Welcare Hospital but she told us that this is normal and nothing wrong in it. Yasmine bacically reduce the duration of period and make the blood flow lesser.
Avatar f tn If the pregnancy test was negative, you are probably NOT pregnant. I ALWAYS recommend repeating the test though. Sometimes the very low dose pills can result in a bleeding that is so slight that it looks more like an infection than a period. It is never a bad idea to get a check up too, though. It could also be something like bacterial vaginosis or yeast, or worse, an STD. I hope this helps!
473222 tn?1214439873 The pill shuts down your own natural production of hormones and replaces them with lab manufactured hormones. Yasmin caused me to develop B12 deficiency, extreme anxiety, food intolerances, low libido and many more problems. All along I just persevered with the pill because I thought it was just my body trying to adjust. Now of course I know it was my body trying to fight the terrible changes been forced on it. After a lot of specialist fertility treatment and readjustment I am recovering.
Avatar f tn 2 years ago I started a birth control pill called Yasmin and was on it for 2 years. During this time I was on and off it as it gave me alot of symptoms which included being very emotional, weight gain, low libido and more. These symptoms didn't exist when I started Yasmin, not until probably 6 months in, is when I started noticing that my body wasn't liking it. So I stopped it completely last year around August.
Avatar f tn You can also postpone your periods by taking norethisterone which is often used to postpone a period. The dose is 5mg three times a day starting 3-4 days before a period is due. It can be continued for up to 2 weeks or so until you want to have a period. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar n tn i know u may not want to put her on the pill, but it may be the only option you have so she will have a normal 28 day cycle. a pill like Yasmin which I take, is a low dose pill. If she has acne then Yasmin will also clear that up too.
Avatar m tn Chances of pregnancy are extremely low. You didn't ejaculate, and any pre-ejaculate would have been in the tip of the condom rather than the top, where it could spill out. Second, most condoms are coated with spermicide, so any fluid that touched the condom (inside or out) would have had dead sperm from contact with the condom/spermicide.
Avatar f tn I was sick and on antibiotics so took yasmin double dose for 2 days only. The midcycle bothered me but now it seems to subside. Taking pills was a mistake, and being irregular even bigger. I agree with your point. I think we shouldnt be experimenting with our systems when all is in order. Thanks for your advice and kind words.
Avatar n tn I just started Yasmin for acne, having previously taken Microgynon with no issues. I've only taken Yasmin for about 2 weeks, but I've noticed it seems to be really affecting me. I feel so fatigued, low, lacking motivation and just generally flat. So strange.
Avatar f tn I have been on birth control for the past three years, I was on yasmin for two years and had severe headaches and was then put on seasonique. I tried to stick it out with the seasonique but I just recently got so fed up with the depression and symptoms I stopped taking it all together. I had NO sex drive on seasonique and now I have a healthy one again but I want to find a birth control that does not take away my sex drive or make me depressed. I was thinking maybe ortho tri cylcen low.
Avatar f tn it could be either. you can take a test or your period may not regulate on the pill for a few months. but i would take a pregnancy test just to be safe.

Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with endo 6 months back and was operated on immediately. The gyne later commented i had stage 4 endo which was very sever at my age (I'm 26 this year). Subsequently, i was given Decapeptyl for 3 consecutive months, stopped for 3 months and now starting to take Yasmin..I've read about the side effects of Yasmin but there seems to be few people taking Yasmin to help with endometriosis..can anyone advise?
Avatar f tn I take my continuously so I am not sure if that makes a difference. I am on a low dose pill as well (marvelon21) but it is very effective for me. After my surgery I took Lupron for 6 months and I decided that it would be better if I took the pill because the Lupron made me sick. My body needs to feel pregnant to be normal and Marvelon works for me and I really have had no pains at all like I used to.
Avatar f tn I came off the depo provera 15months ago and did not get a cycle, so the drs did the hormone checks, scans and iternal checks and said all is ok but perscribed provera 10mg 3 times a day for 10 days, althought gt my perscription wrong so first dose 10mg 3x for 7 days. 704655 tn?1228685706 If the PCOS has made you gain weight already, a low carb diet can help you lose weight and control the other symptoms that come with PCOS. It's hard, but it helps. Good luck.
