Avatar f tn I was on Lo Lo Estren and it was perfect but insurance wanted a generic so I was given a generic for Yaz. Now I am losing my mind! I am super anxious all the time and suddenly jealous of every woman that my husband works with. I obsess over silly things that I would never worry about before. I am switching back ASAP but I was wondering if anyone else has been through this with Yaz as well. I don't know how long I can take this until the pill is out of my system!

Avatar n tn im currently taking yaz birth control. lately iv been getting real sick and hungry like crazy could it be my pill or something else. im trying to get pregnant but trying to regulate my periods too.
Avatar f tn 5 months and was recently switched over from yaz to gianvi which is the generic brand of yaz. I had no choice. I had my period around the end of the month and into the beginning of this month like normal. I started spotting around 2 weeks before my next period and its lasted about a week now. Its a brown discharge like color sometimes with little red blood and very small clots. I have tiny cramps sometimes. Is this normal? Why is this happening?
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had yeast related complications from Yaz or its generic forms? (i.e. Loryna) I've been suffering from persistent yeast that correlated with my switching to Loryna and I wonder if the two could be related.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
Avatar f tn and went from 101 to 116 lbs. After the first two cycles of being on Yaz, I gained a cup size. I feel bloated ALL the time, and look it too, all through my cycles, and more so when I have my period. Even after lifestyle changes (more exercising, watching calorie intake) it still feels like there's a layer of puffiness and bloating covering my whole body! Anyone have any suggestions?! Help please, this is starting to make me feel miserable.
Avatar n tn I used to sell generic drugs and know that there are subtle differences. We used to provide BA/BE studies for our pharmacists and physicians - that's bioavailability and bioequivalency studies, which show things like the peak serum levels, etc. I have found that I cannot take generic Ambien, so I request brand. Also, my mirtazapine - I got a rash from one of the brands, so now I have to request TEVA brand.
Avatar m tn I have been on Synthroid 0.1 for 10 years without any issues. My doctor called in my prescription and the pharmacy gave me the generic form. I was out of the Synthroid so I've been taking the generic for about a week until my new prescription for the brand name arrives. I have had diarrhea for two days. The only thing I've done differently is take the generic drug. Do you think this would be causing the diarrhea?
Avatar n tn I’m not sure if Kaiser is yanking my chain and just wanting me to take a generic BCP, the only thing I can find is a study published recently in the British Medical Journal. But I thought I would ask, is anyone that has PCOS symptoms (high testosterone, insulin resistance) and on BCP on any other BCP besides Yasmin, and does it control PCOS symptoms? Have you seen any side effects?
1110049 tn?1409402144 Hey Maddie! I'm glad to hear you're back on the brand name and feeling better!! This is one of those never ending debates (generic vs brand). Doctors are pretty resistant to believe that there is ANY difference and are quick to say "it's in your head", and that simply isn't ALWAYS the case. The truth is, there ARE differences. They are complicated and hard to explain, but they are there.
Avatar m tn AR - thanks for digging into this subject. I'm going to bring up the differences between generic and branded Synthryoid tomorrow morning when I go for a blood test. Just a checkup to see how the Levothyroxin is doing for me.
Avatar n tn Valium is a brand name. Not a generic name. The generic name is diazapam. The FDA will usually provide a history of changes, although some may be proprietary. You ask an interesting question. Many "common" drugs have actually changed in formulation several times. Synthroid, for example, has changed it's formulation several times since introduction.
Avatar m tn Are you taking generic levo as opposed to a brand name? If so, the generics used by the two pharmacies might be from two entirely different manuacturers, This is often the reason endos give for using brand names only. However, given that these are T4-only meds, that drastic a change in one day is unlikely due to the hormones in the two. BUT, different manufacturers use different fillers or binders, and you may have had a reaction to those.
475555 tn?1469304339 com has published a recent study presented at the IAS2017 Conference in Paris revealing the following differences between countries in the cost of hep-c meds: "... the current lowest prices for a 12-week course of Sovaldi and Daklinza (daclatasvir) treatment for hep C range from a high of $142,710 in the United States to $104,723 in Denmark, $96,404 for treatment through Veterans Affairs in the United States, $50,059 in France, $29,361 in Brazil, $174 in Egypt and $108 in India.
Avatar f tn There seems to be a general consensus that the generic bupropion and the Name Brand Wellbutrin are quite different. Why doesn't everyone that comments on taking on or the other mention if they are taking the generic or name brand? I think if they did we would get a much better idea of the differences.
699217 tn?1323438700 I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab. Although they are all narcotics, vicodin and lortab are lesser strength than the oxy's and morphine.
7991152 tn?1396061810 I have been on thyroid hormone for 45 yrs. I switched to a generic; levoxyl once for about 2 yrs and never want to do that again. I didn't attribute it to the switch because me loosing my mind didn't happen immediately. I couldn't understand what was wrong, I felt like my mind was not there, not me, crazy. Then read in a pill book that levoxyl had difference dosages of ingredients then Synthroid did. I remember there being significant differences.
689528 tn?1364135841 m wondering how I should deal with this transition....I do not notice any differences really. Could it have changed since I stopped taking birth control? I have had issues with my weight and do not want to gain. I would like to actually tone up a little. Is it possible that it can go back and forth? Will I ever be hyperactive again?
Avatar n tn m not a doc but I can tell you that if generic is taken that of times you will experience differences in the body. Though generic has the same meds, the filler that is used to bind causes the medication not to be absorbed properly in the body and thus causes flux in the way it's suppose to work. Ask your pharacist. I've been on Levoxyl 125mcg for over 10 years.
