I don't know about using Yaz to shrink cysts, but I was on Yaz for years until I eventually had breakthrough bleeding and had to stop. Yaz was the only birth control pills that didn't make me feel crazy from mood swings or depression. I see those lawyer ads on TV also, but I really liked Yaz.

After going to see my family doctor, he put me on Yaz. Yaz took away off of my symptoms from my period and I was beginning to think it was a magical pill until the third month. During the third month I was taking Yaz, I became very emotional and could cry at the drop of a hat, crying for over 3 hours at a time. I was utterly irritable and would blow up and yell at my family for the littlest things. I also became extremely depressed and tired all day long.

I was on Yaz for a few months, it is the DEVIL! I had anxiety attacks, mood swings, depression, terrible yeast infections, and trust me the list goes on and on and on. I found a forum on here talking about Yaz and over 250 women replied to it and ALL of them had horrible issues with this birth control. Please get off of it ASAP. You'll feel much better, I promise!

I was prescribed Lexapro for mood and maxalt for headache by PCP ( have been on numerous triptans for the last ten years for good control) When my perimenopausal symptoms began to increase hot flashes, sleep difficulties and mood, I was placed on Yaz. It has overall been great. Controlled by anxiety except for right before menses.

If you think it is severe enough, she might have PMDD, pre-menstural disphoric disorder. I really think she should try Yaz. It will help with the mood swings, and if she does have PMDD, it will help with that as well.

Hi, I've been taking Yaz for about two months now, but recently I forgot to take it a few days ago. My friend told me that if I miss a day I can just take two the next day. I did and later on I noticed I was spotting. I did read that it is very common for something like that to happen but for me it seemed like i was having my period. I have been off the pill for years. I had no luck with the copper iud for 4 years hormone free but the bleeding never go less and the duration never did either. The nuva ring made me depressed tried that for 4 mnths after the iud. I am 39 and my hormones are changing greatly my which they say can happen at this age. my normal periods all my life are changing to every 21 day last period came 109 days later. My GYNsuggeseted the pill. Even though I am against hormones.

any one have any good news about coming off yaz? I have heard some horror stories about heavy bleading!!!! please respond.

I too have been taking Yaz for 5 cycles now and I have experienced the same bloating you are talking about. I am a very athletic person and I run almost 70 miles a week. Before Yaz I was skinny 5'3 110lbs and I didn't have much of a tummy at all.I am still the same weight but now I look almost pregnant, and i am positive i am not, but my stomach sticks out so much from bloating and it is making me miserable as well. I just want it to go away.

Recently I have been getting very depressed the week of my period to the point where I will just cry. I take YAZ so as soon as those 4 days of taking the blank pill I feel like my mood just crashes. I started to take a antidepressant 2 months ago and that was the first time I experienced such a low mood, I usually get more emotional but I felt like it was doubled. I started taking Generess FE 2 weeks ago. I was previously on Yaz for 4 years(no issues), took a break for a year, and started with the pill again. Since I have been taking the new birth control, I have felt so uncontrollably sad. I cry all the time, and I even had a panic attack! well i recently went to a hospital where i got sent to a psychiatric ward where i stayed for 10days The reason why i got sent their was bc of my cutting addiction and my anxiety attacks. the psychiatric their put me on abilify stating that he felt that i had a mood disorder and he was putting me on it because it has a mood stabilizing element to it. now i think that i made him diagnose me like that on purpose bc ive been reading all about bi polar disorder but i might not be really bi polar...

My new doctor thinks I've been misdiagnosed for depression/anxiety. He says this based on everything I described to him and because general SSRI's just cause me more problems than good (high anxiety and side effects). He says I'm not BiPolar, but that I have a mood disorder, on the BiPolar Spectrum... maybe unipolar. He says he does not know exactly what kind of mood disorder yet, just that I have one. So he's trying me out on Lamictal.
