178590 tn?1294176767 I saw a piece on a current affairs that Yaz can cause or heighten depression and I thought that perhaps this could be the reason I feel this way. After reading this blog I've decided to stop taking Yaz and just let nature take its course...hopefully I will feel 'normal' again soon.
737515 tn?1252552423 [GAC] However i have found that with the start of taking birth control pills my anxiety has increased dramatically and depression has became very apparant.. Im a psychology major, i know what the signs are of sadness and what the signs of depression are. My problem isn't all month though. I seem to only have depression during the first two weeks of each pack. I talked to my gyno about this who decided to try changing my birth control... twice.
Avatar f tn I AM NOW SEEING ALOT OF LAWSUITS BEING ADVERTISED FOR YAZ....SIDEEFFECTS BEING BLOOD CLOTS, PULMONARY ISSUES AND SO ON ....HAS ANYONE HAD ISSUES WITH YAZ AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT....WHAT CAN I ALSO DO FOR THE MOODS...ANY SUGGESTIONS...
Avatar f tn Hi cassiee014, First and foremost got off Yaz. The birth control Yaz is dangerous. There are actually some women who have lawsuits against the manufacturers of Yaz. Getting off Yaz may solve your depression. Actually I just read you have a mild history of depression. You also said you haven't taken any medication for your depression. Okay. I would make an appointment with your family doctor . Is your doctor aware of your mild history of depression?
Avatar f tn No, I did not suffer from depression or anxiety prior to taking yaz. I started Yaz on a Thursday and by Sunday I was super excited to see my boyfriend and then that night and the following day its like someone flipped a switch on me..I just felt weird all the time..even with him. Do you know why that is? I started taking Cypralex a month into taking Yaz. I did go off Yaz within 9 days because i thought something was weird...
Avatar m tn I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.
Avatar f tn it may be the yaz... i was takin yaz and it kicked my butt.. i had to be takin off of it.. my mood swings and stuff were uncontrolable. if i were you i would check with your doc but alot of what your goin through sounds like me when i was on yaz... i have never taken meds for depression but while on yaz the dr said i might need it.. once i quit takn the yaz i was alot better and i mean alot..
Avatar f tn I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
Avatar f tn m on the medication to, trying to feel it out for my first month. Keep me posted on updates on Yaz and God bless!
Avatar f tn They include, but not limited to, Nausea, vomiting, cramping, bloating, weight and appetite changes, headaches, skin changes and depression. Each woman is different, but if yaz was the cause of your symptoms, you may start to feel relief within the first few weeks of discontinuing it. It can take a few months for it to filter out of your system; each woman varies on this. You'll know soon if going off it helps your symptoms. You should also talk to your doctor about your concerns.
Avatar f tn I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
869854 tn?1239978206 I feel hopeless so she mentioned that studies have shown the pill and also anxiety and depression meds can help the hormonal changes and regulate my moods and newly changing menstural cycle. I was so looking forward to turning 40 up until 5 months ago when my mood just shifted.
Avatar f tn My daughter has only been taking YAZ for two and half weeks and has begun calling me every night from college in tears. She doesn't know what's wrong. Just feels like crying all the time. Also had an episode where she became so dehydrated that she fainted last week. I don't know if either of these things can be attributed to the YAZ, but I plan to call the OB/GYN tomorrow to check. Will post what I find out.
405998 tn?1222396217 Here in California, on TV trial lawyers are running ads, if you are using Yaz and Yazmine and list of side effects, contact the some number. http://www.drugs.com/sfx/yaz-side-effects.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms sound very much like what I went through on Yaz. Both Yasmin and Yaz have a different kind of progestin than other bcps. I was on Yaz for six months, and started having anxiety attacks about once a month. Then after I quit I felt better for a while, but it seems like at 3 months off and six months off things would get worse for a period of time. Like Ginger said above, you may need to try to take extra care of yourself: taking vitamins, eating healthy, exercise and rest.
Avatar n tn d call your doctor and tell her you are stopping the pill and would like to discuss another possibility. Does she know you were on Yaz before?
Avatar f tn Is anyone else on the Marina? Do you have a history of depression with other birth controls? And if so, is the Marina working any better for you?
Avatar f tn I've been using Yaz for about 3 months now and I haven't had any major side effects. I bled for the first two weeks and after that, I've been regular. After reading some of the posts here though, I'm scared. Many people are saying they are getting bad side effects like mood swings and depression. I'm very nervous that I'll start getting them now. Any advice?... Thank you so much.
697574 tn?1273955747 YES it is normal. I get very different anxiety and depression prior to my period. Take your meds and try to realize it will pass and things do get better.
Avatar f tn Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Regards.
976978 tn?1248769300 sleeping pills(for insomnia),small amount of Adderall(in order to function) and a SNRI(for pain and depression) All my thyroid tests(TSH,T4,T3)always came back normal so I never took any thyroid medicine. Past labs also showed extremely high Cortisol serum level & extremely low Serotonin(not sure of current level) 2 months ago my symptoms worsened(esp depression, insomnia, muscle aches, painful cold/tingling hands&feet-in summer!
Avatar m tn Then I got back on it a year later, and started having major signs of depression, weight gain, and just a change in my hormones. I use to be the bubbliest happiest person in the world before I started taking this pill. Now I find myself majorly depressed, and have been gaining weight. I am also, tired all the time. Before I started taking the pill, I use to have so much energy. I know that I am not the same person as I was before I started taking this pill.
17396631 tn?1456315815 My gynecologist put me on Ventura birth control pills (generic form of Yaz) with the intent to stop my periods because they caused me extremely painful cramps and depression. I've been taking them exactly as directed for the past three months. Every morning between 7am and 7:30am, never skipping a day, and starting a new pack instead of taking the placebo pills. For some reason I had two full-length, excruciatingly painful periods that were only two days apart.
Avatar f tn How can you gain weight if you have lost your appetite? I know that everytime I have lost my appetite I have lost a tremendous amount of weight. In the book that comes with Yaz it says that spotting may occur. Some of these pills work for some and some don't work for others. I have used Yaz and like it the best and my friend used it and it made her sick. It's too bad they didn't have a way to plug in your information and out pops an answer of what pill you should use.
