yasmin side effects depression

I have been suffering with severe endometriosis since I was 16 years old. It's been 6 or more years and I am still going through the same stuff. I am on progesterone (for almost a year) and it's stopping the menstrual cycle and stopping more endo from growing, which is what we want, but it's also causing so many horrible side effects! Like hair loss; weight gain; depression; hot flashes; etc. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?

However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?

The gyne was stumped as to which BC pill would be best, as Yasmin is for the PMDD, but causes the side effects for her. Other pills have a different chemical make-up, but more estrogen can cause more mood swings. Does anyone else take Lexapro and Lamictal in addition to a BC pill to suppress periods? Thank you!

with the Ortho it took me 4months to get over the side effects. took it for 6 months before TTCin n it wasn't so bad. as for the Yasmin, it gave me horrible migraines and I kept on vomiting every time I took it. if ur sure about the Yasmin pills then I'd recommend that u wait until u finish ur ortho first to avoid unnecessary bleeding. I've personally never been on Yasmin, but I have heard from other women about the side effects they experience. They almost always end up switching to another brand.

yasmin works well for me and i also have pcos. never had breakthrough bleeding or side affects.

i just began taking yasmin today (never taken birth control before). so just now i began doing my research on yasmin, and it seems that the side effects are crazy! i cant say anything because this is only my day. i know pills work differently for everyone but i am really quite scared. what should i do? anyone have any good stories about yasmin??

Aren't such side-effects as abdominal cramps have been reported for Yasmin? As I have found them in the drugs description.

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with endo 6 months back and was operated on immediately. The gyne later commented i had stage 4 endo which was very sever at my age (I'm 26 this year). Subsequently, i was given Decapeptyl for 3 consecutive months, stopped for 3 months and now starting to take Yasmin..I've read about the side effects of Yasmin but there seems to be few people taking Yasmin to help with endometriosis..can anyone advise?

I was on the pill and had side effects from yasmin but tricyclin was ok and alesse was good too. I cant remember to take tehm daily so Im switching to the ring and see how that goes.

Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.

I just started to take yasmin not yaz and hope this helps me. I have been off the pill for years. I had no luck with the copper iud for 4 years hormone free but the bleeding never go less and the duration never did either. The nuva ring made me depressed tried that for 4 mnths after the iud. I am 39 and my hormones are changing greatly my which they say can happen at this age. my normal periods all my life are changing to every 21 day last period came 109 days later. My GYNsuggeseted the pill.

I have heard about Yaz and Yasmin causing more of a risk for blood clots in women....BUT (yes there is a but) almost all birth control pills can cause blood clots especialy if you have had them before, or have had a family history of them. If your nurse wants you to switch to a genric then you can still take Yasmin (but it would be Ocella). It's the same thing.

Hi. I had endometriosis on both ovaries and tumor on my right ovary and 10 cm chocolate cyst. I had lap done (at the age of 19) and my right ovary was removed. Since than I was taking Yasmin pills (they are ok, because there aren't any unpleasent and serious side effects). But, because I have problems on my left ovary, too I had to do another lap, but I didn't want to, so I went to a puncture (they sucked the cysts and the blood).

My question is: If I get an IUD, will it be able to control all my hormonal problems? Can I have an IUD and also take an anti-androgen or something like that?

This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together. Hello, I am 24 years old (will be 25 in December). I had tumor, chocolate cysts, endo and blood tickening, so my rihgt ovary was removed during lap 5 years ago (was 19 years old). Since than I am on Yasmin birth control pills, I had one punctuation and been on Zoladex shots for six months (that makes you go into an early menopause) because my left ovary is also problematic. Unless you have serious problems and risks, I wouldn't recomend removing both ovaries.

1. How tall are you? If your BMI is less than 10% that may be why you aren't having your period. 2. Between tricyclin and yasmin, tricyclin will probably make for worse "moon fluctuation" because it is tri-phasic, which means it has 3 different levels of hormone depending on what week your are on. yasmin has the same level all 3 active weeks. However, if you are going to choose a low-dose mono-phasic pill there is no reason to jump straight to yasmin.

I was on Yasmin for 5 years, unlike others I did not experience physical side effects but it did ruin my marriage since it destroyed my libido, no sex drive at all! I decided to stop it in December of 07, and i have been on the most horrible ride of my life.First the periods were allot in one month or back to back. They would last for about 10 days! and then came the Acne!
