t remember a lot of nausea but I remember cramping a lot and spotting a lot with horrible mood swings. Maybe you should switch back to whatever the doctor gave you in place of Yasmin if it worked well for you.

The gyne was stumped as to which BC pill would be best, as Yasmin is for the PMDD, but causes the side effects for her. Other pills have a different chemical make-up, but more estrogen can cause more mood swings. Does anyone else take Lexapro and Lamictal in addition to a BC pill to suppress periods? Thank you!

I am taking Yasmin four years and I never had any problems with mood swings and other horrible things that are caused from hormonal pills (like sweating, depression, anger, irritability). So, from my experience, Yasmin is good, better than some other medications of this kind.

My GYNsuggeseted the pill. Even though I am against hormones. But my syptoms were so bad I am desperate. Mood swings, irritability, low sex drive, trouble sleeping, weight gain, confusion, hard to focus etc etc. I feel like I have all the syptoms of peri-menopause but my she claims there is no way to accurately check my hormones as they change daily and hourly.

During that time I had tons of mood swings, lack of energy and problems with my skin. I was an emotional wreck and gained 20 lbs with no changes to my diet. It caused issues in my marriage with my moodiness. I finally had it removed and I've been about a year Mirena free. I have lost 15 within the past few months without even trying. It takes a while for the added hormones to leave your body. The weight I added it mostly gone. I ended up going back to the size I wore prior to the IUD.

Hello, I'm 19 years old and just got diagnosed, as one would say, with ADD/ADHD rather recently. I was given a prescription for Concerta 36mg to be taken daily. This is the third week taking it and I have been noticing some odd side effects. On days when I take it in the morning and don't eat I feel nauseous and generally off, which I was warned about prior so it doesn't worry me as much. However, I have also noticed quite a difference in my mood.

I am a 26 year old woman and i have been using the birth control pill yasmin for the past year and a half. Since then i have been experiencing mood swings and bouts of depression. I have also gone from 138 lbs to 120 lbs, i am 5'6 and 120lbs makes me look as though i am starving,i have very little appetite i have tried tonics to regain the weight but nothing seems to work i am not happy with my weight at all and how i feel. please help!

Yep, welcome to Tamoxifen. Those are all glorious side effects. Suggestion...try changing when you take Tamoxifen (try a couple weeks in the morning, couple weeks in the evening...couple weeks midday), take it with food...and also make sure you drink plenty of water in the day. I take mine usually midday now and the hot flashes have calmed down along with the mood swings.

Hello ladies, I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 19. I'll be 33 next month. I've suffered from severe acne, cysts, abnormal periods and major mood swings. I've had 3 laproscopies and I've been on Yasmin for over 8 years. I have to say, of the 5 or 6 different bc pills I've taken, I found Yasmin to be the best. It really curbed my acne a great deal. Also, I had no cysts. On some of the other bc pills, I still developed cystic ovaries.

For some reason I cannot get my period without being on birth control. I was on birth control for 8 years, and stopped it. I had no periods for a few months, felt very on edge, crying, moody, anxious etc. I started Tricyclen and got one period back, but had such severe anxiety on it that I started having to take Klonopin which I am still on now. I haven't had my period in two months.

on 100 mg some cramps and crazy mood swings, the 150mg by far the worst horrible hot flashes, with my mood swings i get so angry, then i cry because i'm angry, bad bad cramps, oh yeah and when i go from a dark area to light i have wavy lines that follow everything i look at. i take it at night also, i would rather sleep off my hot flashes then be dripping at work. i think i just respond poorly to hormones, i had a lot of side effects when i was on bc 4 years ago.

Hello, I am 24 years old (will be 25 in December). I had tumor, chocolate cysts, endo and blood tickening, so my rihgt ovary was removed during lap 5 years ago (was 19 years old). Since than I am on Yasmin birth control pills, I had one punctuation and been on Zoladex shots for six months (that makes you go into an early menopause) because my left ovary is also problematic. Unless you have serious problems and risks, I wouldn't recomend removing both ovaries.

I have 3 boys...that's plenty for me. I have had my tubes tied and oblastion done. I don't need the pill for birth control I need it for the PMS (mood swings) but I don't want to gain weight, I am heavy enough. Any suggestions???

i don't know about the dreams, but mood swings and lack of concentration are most definitely side effects.

ve been taking it for almost a year I never had the spotting problems but the mood swings were horrible the first pack! My mood swings eased up during the second pack, but I can still be very emotional. I never was before but now its like my body is normal. Thats really the only side effect besides the headache and breast tenderness that I have had with seasonique.

i have heard of something where women suffer from horrble mood swings when their on their period. like WAY beyond normal mood swings.

I havent had that many side-effects..ive had mood swings and pregnancy symptoms (nausea, cramping, and soooo tired) but nothing that i can't live with. i think i have put weight on but mostly thats me being lazy but i do think the implant holds your weight. I dont get periods with it...just a bit bleeding every now and then....and i really cant complain. as a student nurse its helped me as if i was on placement for a 12 hour shift with period pains.....well, no thank you!

Hi; I'm on my third month of Yasmin, which I mainly started for acne control. On the whole it's been pretty great. I have no mood swings, emotionally I've been stable and my acne is pretty much normalizing. Since starting Yasmin however, I've experienced two occurrences of vaginal irritation. Each occurrence has lasted 1-2 weeks, during which time I was extremely itchy, irritated and sensitive. Has anyone else experienced this?

Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.

I still have problems with mood swings. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions about how to handle mood swings? Can they be tamed?

It feels good in a way i guess but in other ways now I HAVE to deal with real life, which gives me tons of anxiety. The antidepressants just were not worth it with all the side effects you know? I cry over the littlest things now. And I snap at my hubby alot, and hes not use to that, I was a so go with the flow person on the drugs. Oh well it is what it is and this too shall pass right?

what do you think?? Progesterone side effects or could this be it? I was on progesterone w/DD but we got pg the first month trying (after 4 mc) so I don't have a reference point of progesterone w/o pregnancy.

Having terrible mood swings the last couple of days, assuming the Clomid? 2nd round CD 11. Anyone have issues with this? I took Clomid in the past but cannot remember. Hopefully this means things are working. I have the fear that this time no follies, had 2 last time with no success. Get checked in 2 days for this.

I began Effexor and found it helped the depression but not the flashes. Now a year later, I have started having severe ups and downs and mood swings and the sweating still there among other things. I have been taking the B1 and E suggested. can not find the periden c. no help I finally am seeing an M.D. who is also a qualified homeopathist with a background in biochemistry and pharmaocology so she knows about drug interactions.
