yasmin mood swings

I am taking Yasmin four years and I never had any problems with mood swings and other horrible things that are caused from hormonal pills (like sweating, depression, anger, irritability). So, from my experience, Yasmin is good, better than some other medications of this kind.

I am a 26 year old woman and i have been using the birth control pill yasmin for the past year and a half. Since then i have been experiencing mood swings and bouts of depression. I have also gone from 138 lbs to 120 lbs, i am 5'6 and 120lbs makes me look as though i am starving,i have very little appetite i have tried tonics to regain the weight but nothing seems to work i am not happy with my weight at all and how i feel. please help!

I have 3 boys...that's plenty for me. I have had my tubes tied and oblastion done. I don't need the pill for birth control I need it for the PMS (mood swings) but I don't want to gain weight, I am heavy enough. Any suggestions???

My GYNsuggeseted the pill. Even though I am against hormones. But my syptoms were so bad I am desperate. Mood swings, irritability, low sex drive, trouble sleeping, weight gain, confusion, hard to focus etc etc. I feel like I have all the syptoms of peri-menopause but my she claims there is no way to accurately check my hormones as they change daily and hourly.

Other pills have a different chemical make-up, but more estrogen can cause more mood swings. Does anyone else take Lexapro and Lamictal in addition to a BC pill to suppress periods? Thank you!

Hello ladies, I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 19. I'll be 33 next month. I've suffered from severe acne, cysts, abnormal periods and major mood swings. I've had 3 laproscopies and I've been on Yasmin for over 8 years. I have to say, of the 5 or 6 different bc pills I've taken, I found Yasmin to be the best. It really curbed my acne a great deal. Also, I had no cysts. On some of the other bc pills, I still developed cystic ovaries.

For some reason I cannot get my period without being on birth control. I was on birth control for 8 years, and stopped it. I had no periods for a few months, felt very on edge, crying, moody, anxious etc. I started Tricyclen and got one period back, but had such severe anxiety on it that I started having to take Klonopin which I am still on now. I haven't had my period in two months.

Hello, I don't know if you are bipolar or not but if it really bothers you being so moody you could see your doctor about it. Also check out a list of bipolar symptoms and see if you have a lot of them. If you do, then you might want to see a doctor. Certain meds can help stabilize your mood so you don't have erratic mood swings everyday...or you may just have stress in your life that is causing you to be moody so I'm not sure if it's a disorder or not.

Hi, I have been on the pill for roughly 9 months I have been expiriencing depression, self harm, insane frustration over simple things and severe mood swings. It has recently been affecting my life and my closest relationships very badly. I get so confused sometimes as to why I snap at my boyfriend and why I get so mad at me for no reason whatsoever he has been so patient with me. But enoughs enough I need help! What should I do?

Hi; I'm on my third month of Yasmin, which I mainly started for acne control. On the whole it's been pretty great. I have no mood swings, emotionally I've been stable and my acne is pretty much normalizing. Since starting Yasmin however, I've experienced two occurrences of vaginal irritation. Each occurrence has lasted 1-2 weeks, during which time I was extremely itchy, irritated and sensitive. Has anyone else experienced this?

The first 2 months were ok but my period was very light on month 2 and then my skin became horrible with big sore pimples that i never get - as well as horrible mood swings where i literally wanted to strangle someone i was so irritable. So now month 3 and day 6 into my inactive tablets - no period... I am a panic mechanic so have been researching high and low - seems many people have these problems on Marvelon 28.

I switched over to the Nuva Ring. I feel so much better. I was experiencing terrible mood swings. I would cry and feel depressed all of the time. I am currently on Lipitor for a high LDL count. My Triglycerides and HDL count are very good. I take Lipitor for my high cholesterol. Is the Nuva Ring okay to use while on Lipitor? Is the Nuva Ring not recommended for people with High cholesterol? My Lipitor is 10 mg. Thank you!

i have heard of something where women suffer from horrble mood swings when their on their period. like WAY beyond normal mood swings.

t remember a lot of nausea but I remember cramping a lot and spotting a lot with horrible mood swings. Maybe you should switch back to whatever the doctor gave you in place of Yasmin if it worked well for you.

Hi there, I'm 19 and was on Lavalin, or something, since I was 16. I was on and off it, during that time my mood swings we're also on and off. Felt like a roller coaster! I spoke to my naturopath and she said a lot of hormonal birth controls cause depression, lack of sex drive, fainting and other symptoms, in severer cases, heart attacks, strokes and so on. I am trying Yasmin and feel a change in my moods not to mention the nausea, dizziness and blurred vision.. It's quite scary.

I have had that physicians that don't understand PCOS often say certain things won't help. Yasmin, a diet of lean protein, minimal complex carbs and minimal fruit is working for me. My elevated testosterone level and mood swings are finding much comfort with Yasmin. Don't give up until you find someone that will listen! Believe me you will be happy that you did.

I had been on Yasmin for 5 years and never had any problems with it, my skin was clear, my periods were regular, the only thing that I've had to put up with is the slightly worsened mood swings when I get my period.

Yes. All of this is normal. My mood swings are random. I more so feel like I'm about to cry. When ppl have attitude or upset with me I just completely lose my patience.
