Common Questions and Answers about Wrongful seizure of vehicle

seizure

Avatar f tn I am very concerned about you. I assume what you call "abscent" seizures are what we call "Petit mal" seizures - short periods where one loses a sense of awareness. This can be fatal when driving a vehicle. You have done nothing wrong and have nothing to be embarrassed about. I consider it essential that you tell your mom or dad about the problem and get an in-person medical evaluation. In the meantime get a notebook and log the experiences and the duration.

1530342 tn?1405016490 html ATLANTA (AP) — A man jumped into an out-of-control Jeep as it drifted across lanes of traffic on a bustling parkway and steered the vehicle safely into a guardrail after its driver suffered a seizure, authorities said. Christopher Sanders said he blacked out on his way home from work Thursday in Columbus, a west Georgia city.
Avatar m tn When i was about 5 i was at a neighbors house i accidently cut my hand wwhen i got home and seen the blood i had my first episode my parents say it was a grand mal seizure i was flashing in and out of consciousness and for lack of a better word i was thrashing about. When i was a kid whenever i seen my own blood from knicks scratches etc this would happen.it probably happened 4 or 5 times.I stopped having these problems for 15 yrs or so.
Avatar n tn I would certainly make an appt. with a Neurologist ASAP.... As far as your work goes....is this a place that has cameras? You could request to see the footage of this 'incident' that you don't remember...As well as get written statements of the actual reason for your termination. Were you taking any type of medication for the migraines? I'm also unsure why you just didn't take a sick day and go ahead and leave yourself...
Avatar m tn You require an opinion from a neurologist specializing in siezures. The problem is the now-mandatory CDL (Commercial Driver's License) physical required by the DOT before you can be hired with an "A" CDL. Thus you have two physicals to contend with. First is the Department of Motor Vehicle physical. This, with a note from your physican certifying 12 months of seizure free activity will probably permit you to drive non-commercially. The DOT physical is much more strict.
Avatar f tn This is actually about my son who is 20 years old. What would cause him to get dizzy and "black out" as he called it while he is just driving down the road? I don't have too much to go on at this time. He did tell me that he hasn't been sleeping very good lately. He usually sleeps really good though. Really worried about this cause it caused him to veer off the left side of the road and roll his jeep, which is now totaled.
Avatar m tn Sometimes electrical heart problems can cause seizure-like activity especially when electrolytes are out of wack because of vomiting or diahrea. It is worth checking it out with a cardiologist.
Avatar f tn I can tell you from personal experience that the idea of awareness when having a seizure is VERY vague. Think of it as being temporarily thrown into a dream state.
1058625 tn?1269784649 I panic, I fall hit the ground but crazy enough I get the sensation I am still falling, everything is still but I'm still falling. My whole lower body goes numb, it always starts with my left leg... it just goes way beyond numb it's as if it doesn't exsist. I grab things to try to stop the falling sensation but that doesn't help, sometimes it comes in waves and can last more than half an hour. If I close my eyes it's like I'm not in me, if that makes sense.
Avatar n tn We have a 4 month old akc lab pup. For the past week, he has been scratching like crazy and we thought maybe he picked up fleas from a relatives house we had visited. We bathed him, and put hartz flea & tick medicine (in tube) on his back about three days ago. Last night he suddenly fell to the floor and had what we thought was a seizure. I called a friend whom is a vet and we thought that the visit could wait until today.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had unprotected sex with 2 ladies, and one of the ladies was bleeding, I never knew. According to here, the cause of the bleeding was a wrongful abortion, but the think there was that my penis got contact with the blood. After some days, I started feeling an itch at the tip of my penis inside, not outside. It's very mild, but it's very uncomfortable.
486038 tn?1300063367 Sunny, my weird little seizures only happen when I already feel like crud. Short on sleep, or did too much that day, and the next day - wham! I've opted not to take any medication, because I get the seizure thing only when I'm feeling 'seizure-y.' It never takes me by surprise. Sure, they affect my quality of life - but they're directly related to the MS fatigue. So my advice is that you should be taking an anti-seizure medication.
Avatar m tn I told them I could not perform this maneuver and would seizure! They literally pushed me out of the vehicle! At this point in time I went down and my head flexed and reverberated on the cold concrete … as in my severe muscular contraction two grown men had let go of me! I told them again that I was now down and my head hurting from the impact and to take me back to the real hospital –they put me in the gurney and transported me finally without making me walk!
Avatar f tn My ovulation test was positive today and It was my 16th day after period. Let me tell I m ttc. So pls suggest is it not wrongful to ttc.
Avatar n tn I do not know if the brain zapping is a fixed way of living after going off of Effexor, but do know that experiencing them has been one of the scariest and most terrible things in my life, and going off of Effexor is the most debilitating thing my body has ever undergone. The physical side effects are awful and the mental equally horrible. In the reading I have done online and in books I have noted that brain zaps may continue throughout several years.
1252074 tn?1271541709 Since I've become ill, I have begun to feel isolated big time, w the seizure disorder of unknown etiology, I can no longer drive, extreme fatigue making it difficult to even walk to the kitchen and prepare a meal these days, plus I'm having less and less time on laptop b/c of this, (seems looking at screen increases fatigued feelings) My son & wife live only 10 miles from me and he works less than a mile from here but never stops by, never calls to see how I'm feeling, if I nee
Avatar f tn You should not drive for at least a year, because if you experience a siezure you will lose control of your vehicle. Ordinarily you will require a letter from your physician to regain driver's priviliges. In New York City last month a driver who was advised not to drive experienced a siezure, killed two people, and was sentenced to 25 years to life in the state penitentiary, so I would take your physician's adice seriously.
Avatar f tn Note there is a difference between the cause of a seizure and a trigger. Seizures can be caused by head injury (at any time in your life), diabetes side effects, a high fever as a child or a virus/bacterium like meningitis. Triggers are things like alcohol drinks, flashing lights (like driving a car through shade/shadow or watching window blinds flickering the light from a breeze, or for some people anything raising the adrenaline level. In women, PMS is usually a trigger.
Avatar f tn My husband is a type 2 diabetic and is 70 years old. Out of the blue a few months ago he had an episode in the night that I didn't witness but the symptoms were that of a seizure according to the Doctor who saw him in the hospital (he had a fall at the time and had superficial facial wounds) The doctor put him on dilantin and they did an EEG. Then he was taken off the dilantin because the EEG didn't show anythin g.
163305 tn?1333668571 Can a third party sue for wrongful death? Yes. Every wrongful death action it's going to be brought by a third party whether it be on behalf of the decedent or perhaps by the spouse or child or partner etc. Often when non-lawyers see a case like this they think there is a legal answer to the feasibility of successfully bringing a law suit. Generally it's more about the facts and the lawyer's resources and imagination than it is about the law.
