Avatar f tn I am sort of in your shoes! Being a highschool senior over 240lbs. I know that planet fitness is open late and something I have found that helps is giving up soda aswell as exersize! I gave it up over the summer, I occasionally have a sip or two now and then because it is bad to deny yourself everything! All I really drink is water and some tea, it was only hard to stop because we always had pop and I work at a place where we can get pop when we need it.
Avatar f tn 125 lb is not much for someone who is 5'6" tall. If your only problem is love handles, it sounds like the main thing you need to do is tone your muscles. Yoga is real good for that, as is pilates. You can also try going for a daily, 30 minute walk. I'm finding, myself, that posture is also very important when it comes to those love handles. Keeping the spine and shoulders straight (as opposed to hunched over) goes a long way toward diminishing the illusion of love handles.

Avatar m tn Hey, so yesterday I was in the gym and the last workout I did before playing basketball was a sort of pectoral contractor where you pull weighted handles together until your hands meet in the middle of your chest. It was my first time on the machine, but I did my usual weight and reps. When I got home I noticed the right side of my chest was really tight. Usually when I get this feeling, I just stretch and after a pop it goes away.

I think 20 min. a week on your arms would be enough. I do 20 on arms, 20 on legs, and 20 on core per week. The weight your using is also good, your at 3. I use 3 and 5. If you go up I wouldn't go up more than that.

Hold for a second then when you breathe out puff it out and suck in your belly button as far as you can. Practise doing that until you don't have to think about doing it. When you do an ab workout - sit-ups etc sit up on the outbreath.
Avatar f tn Prenatal yoga is great for strengthening all the muscles you're gonna use during labour and for focusing on your breathing. I've been swimming a lot during my pregnancy as it feels so nice to exercise without feeling the weight of your belly. Walking as often as possible is also good. These are the only exercises I did but depends on your ability and fitness level. I had breathlessness throughout my preg so anything else was too much much me.
