Avatar f tn I have been having unprotected sex and I am 3 days late on my period. I have no clue what is going on. My questions is has anyone taken this and had this problem?

Avatar m tn ) Did the dr tell you what your FSH level was? That is the best way to tell what your chances are. Progesterone is naturally produced by the left over follicle that the egg was in before it was released. Once the egg was released, the remaining follicle becomes the Corpus Luteum. It's job is to produce progesterone that is necessary for a new embryo. If you don't ovulate, no progesterone. No progesterone and af doesn't know when to show up.
Avatar f tn I don't think I am to take this every day for 30 days, so could you tell me what the correct dosage is for this problem and when do I begin taking it? Seems to me that I took it after I had a period for a period of 5 -10 days, I just can't remember. Thank you.
2051102 tn?1330321233 I will be doing this for 6 months. Why is this medication prescribed? Medroxyprogesterone is used to treat abnormal menstruation (periods) or irregular vaginal bleeding. Medroxyprogesterone is also used to bring on a normal menstrual cycle in women who menstruated normally in the past but have not menstruated for at least 6 months and who are not pregnant or undergoing menopause (change of life).
Avatar f tn Hi EAFarm, I recommend googling the name of this medication and see if you can find out what the possible side effects of this drug are and see if there is any mention of an association with breast cancer. I found a helpful site for looking up side effects of various drugs is www.rxlist.com .
1906894 tn?1321877167 HI, Medroxyprogesterone is known to cause breast tenderness. Also in animal studies it has been implicated for breast tumours. Hence as you are having symptoms it is necessary that you consult your Doctor for an examination and possible discontinue the drug. Take care and good luck.
20811884 tn?1518853698 In addition, I have Epilepsy Seizures, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Stomach Ulcer, and Acid Reflux. I am 40 and just need some questions answered. Is it normal for the MedroxyProgesterone pills to literally flush out my uterus in order for me to have regular periods? Is changing my pad every 3 to 4 hours normal? Is it natural that when I stand up blood is supposed to come out as leakage or clots? Any answers to my questions are greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn It’s always been irreagular so my doctor prescribed MedroxyProgesterone. I have never had an issue with this medication. Till this month I took 20mg for 10days . July 4th-13. It’s been 13 days and nothing . I did call my doctor she said take a hpt, came back negative, I called and let her know so she said okay try again next week and than call me back with what the hpt says. I honestly have always thought I couldn’t have kids I don’t want to get my hopes up. But can anyone else gone thru this?
873692 tn?1337279333 prescribed it i guess its okay. do more research online about it first. sometimes its good to have a sec opinion.
349601 tn?1219809462 these pills are Medroxyprogesterone 10 mg. Avatar n tn I was taken off Bellergal and put on Medroxyprogesterone 10mg.My question is I have terrible hot flashes.I'm on Tamoxifen and Had a hysterectomy. How do I know 10mg is enough.I had the same trouble with Hormal replacement. It took another doc. to recommend a high doseage that help a lot. I can't have estrogen. Is 10mg enough...And if it's upgraged what are the mg's..thankyou..
Avatar f tn so taking this medication is just helping me to have a period if i ask my doctor for Clomid that will help me to what other things do you recomand for me
Avatar n tn I am told it is from something wrong with the sinus node. For some to tell you this is what you have and then blame stress is contradicting. It is an "appropriate" response with stress. It is "inappropriate" when there isn't any apparent reason for it to occur. My cardiologist told me exercise is still very beneficial even with the beta blocker hindering your heart rate. By the way I am 43 and not menopausal.
Avatar m tn p.Glu429Ala (E429A) heterozygote. I have had 2 miscarriages over the past 2 years using no medication. Pregnancies only last 6 weeks. I seem to have trouble ovulating. My periods are not regular. They come as they please. It has been three years now and still no baby . I have been on Medroxyprogesterone 10mg and Clomid 50mg for a year with no luck of pregnancy. I feel that the Clomid stopped me from ovulating completely. I was just diagnosed with MTHFR. I have not talked to my doctor yet.
427728 tn?1204233418 Aloha: I'm not sure what is going on with my body. but ever since last year i've been getting irregular menses. I went to my OB and he perscribed me MedroxyProgesterone and clomid a couple times. After taking it a couple of times I got my menses naturally (without meds), which is really good. This year, January and February I had my menses but only slightly. It wasn't heavy as before. My first day of my last menses was on Feb. 5th 2008.
Avatar m tn She put me on it to stop my periods so I don't lose anymore iron. I'd like to know what other people's experiences r w this medication and should I expect to get a period or not?
Avatar n tn I know this is what god wants me to do because I wont be truely happy with myself till I lose weight. I am looking for a pin pal we can discuss the stuff we hate about it and the things we want to try and also things that help us. I do not like talking to people regarding pcos that dont have it and doesnt understand. I think its a great idea to have someone to vent to who goes through the same daily issues and struggles!
Avatar f tn I have pcos and I dont get my period unless I am on some type of medication. My doctor started me in medroxyprogesterone to induce my period then clomid for ovulation today is my last day on it. Just wondering how many women actually get pregnant from this and how long it took. Im pretty new to all this so any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar m tn I had my Mirena IUD taken out and 4 days after i started my period, it is now 10 days later and i'm still on my period! so my doc prescribed this medication to me from what i gathered it is to stop the bleeding. will this make me ovulate after i have finished taking it? I really don't know awhile lot about it, so any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated.

Avatar f tn PROVERA IS NOT A BIRTH CONTROL Provera is used to treat abnormal menstruation (periods) or irregular vaginal bleeding. Avatar f tn I apologize for having forgotten to add my age, I'm 49. The only medication I'm taking is the Bactrim for what I believe was a bladder infection and was prescribed before learning the culture was contaminated, but it has relieved the frequency urge and most of the discomfort associated with emptying the bladder. Having said that, and not knowing definitively whether or not it was a bladder infection, is it possible the symptoms could be attributed to any of the diseases you mention?
Avatar f tn What is the reference range for the Free T4 and Total T4 and T3? Ranges vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report? Unfortunately, Total T4 and T3 aren't very useful for determining thyroid function. Your doctor should have ordered Free T3 instead of the Total T3, but we'll use what we have. Am I understanding correctly that you were already on the medroxyprogresterone when you had the original TSH test with the result of 5.0?
Avatar n tn "Doctors have suggested PCOS" That is what I thought of.... has your endocrinologist checked your testosterone level yet ? "I would also like to mention that my mother, maternal grandmother, and maternal great-grandmother all had cycle issues that somehow magically fixed themselves after they got pregnant." And nature / genetics probably passed this on to you !
Avatar n tn My period is regular under medication ( medroxyprogesterone/ provera- 10mg), now I have completed the medicine course, will my period become regular after the surgery? ( birth control pills- Minastrin Fe, Generess, do not suit me as I tend to lose my appetite, become nauseous ) 7. How long I have to wait to get shower after the surgery, how long I have to take rest to get back my normal lifestyle? 8.
Avatar n tn Sometimes heavy flow, but the consistency is bright red and watery, not what I consider normal for me. I realize I may be peri-menopausal missing periods and then heavy to light over days, then dark spotting and lasting for several weeks sometimes. My recent bloodwork results showed all normal with TSH but Prolactin slightly low at 2.5.
Avatar m tn The medication that she takes to regulate her periods is probably Provera or Medroxyprogesterone Acetate. This medication will cause bleeding (sometimes heavy with clots) if the woman is not pregnant, and will not cause bleeding if she is pregnant -- it will not cause miscarriage. It is a good idea to use condoms whenever beginning a new relationship. Another form of birth control that your girlfriend might really like is the oral contraceptive pill.
Avatar n tn I do not mean to scare you, but I think it is important to note, that there is a reason that they stopped using medroxyprogesterone as a pregnancy test... one because there are faster ways, now... and secondly, because it can cause birth defects when taken early in pregnancy (specifically to the genital area). Given how little time you have been taking it, though, I would say that risk is very minimal, even if you are pregnant.
