2051102 tn?1330321233 it had been 3 months since I had my period. Wondering if you have subsided in the side effects ... I was SHOCKED at how much weight gain I have had since taking it (I feel "full" but have the immense drive to eat), I'm tired all the time (sleep 14+ hours a day and am tired on top of that), and I'm bloated (my body looks like an egg)!! I was NOT expecting ANY of that at all ...
Avatar f tn anyway Ive been taking the medroxyprogesterone for 2 1/2 days and no significant side effects...a little sluggish feeling kinda blah and dreaming alot more than usual.....
16221027 tn?1446217790 6 days ago i was perscribed Medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10days. i was having side effects so i decided to stop taking it. and it's been 2 days since the 5th dose. I've been having brown discharge and light cramping in my lower stomach. I'm not sure if this is even right? Or not. I'm also trying to eventually have a baby. i'm 18. i've been with my partner for almost a year. i've never really had regular period.
Avatar f tn Hi EAFarm, I recommend googling the name of this medication and see if you can find out what the possible side effects of this drug are and see if there is any mention of an association with breast cancer. I found a helpful site for looking up side effects of various drugs is www.rxlist.com .
1906894 tn?1321877167 Ive been on medroxyprogesterone for a wk already to hopefully regulate my period but my breast are very sore. I havent felt this soreness since i was pregnant. I know the soreness is normal but I also feel like my breast feel n look bigger. I barely fit a size 34b for over 3 yrs or so n now it fits a lil tight. Is this normal? Are my breast getting bigger? Does my age have something to do with it (20years old).
Avatar n tn (not this one) Okay, now, my concern is the effcts after STOPPING yasmin. I understand that all bc pills are different and so are we women as far as side effects go. I have read postings about women who stopped taking yasmin and have experienced the following: - anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations and fluttering - depression - excessive weight gain - hair loss *I already have a prob. with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, so I am currently on medication.
Avatar f tn This is actually one of the side effects of the drug. Are you taking it on the days prescribed? Are you taking it at exactly the same time for each dose? Those are things that can affect how well the medication works. I would wait about four more days and then contact the doctor. Some medications can take several months to "kick in" but this shouldn't be the case here.
Avatar f tn I have pcos and I dont get my period unless I am on some type of medication. My doctor started me in medroxyprogesterone to induce my period then clomid for ovulation today is my last day on it. Just wondering how many women actually get pregnant from this and how long it took. Im pretty new to all this so any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn My mom really doesn't want me on that or the stronger birth control. The Metforum apparently makes my aunt really sick (I knew she was on it, but not the side-effects) and my mom took the same pill they're going to want me on if Provera doesn't work, but it made her crazy. I don't usually have weird drug reactions like that, so I am still open to trying it if these two months don't go the way they're supposed to. I'm putting my foot down this time around.
Avatar n tn If you are prescribed metformin by advice to you would be dont give up on it becuase it is a rough medication and side affects are horrible for the first 2 weeks then it gets better.
Avatar f tn Little by little you will decrease your use of progesterone during the ninth week of pregnancy. Side Effects of Progesterone What are the side effects of taking progesterone? Natural progesterone does not have any known side effects on a pregnancy. This includes the progesterone in Crinone gel suppositories, Prometrium capsules, and the progesterone in oil for injection.
Avatar f tn If you have overgrowth of endometrial tissue, that will have more to do with your odd menstrual issues than the synthroid, The Medroxyprogesterone is not a double whammy with the synthroid because synthroid is a thyroid hormone and progesterone is reproductive hormone - while all hormones must work together in the body, they each have a different function. Typically, side effects from Synthroid only last until your body has adjusted to having the hormones it's been doing without.
Avatar f tn 1 classic diet. However, gastrointestinal side-effects are observed, but meal preparation was easier and compliance was better. Modified Atkins diet is another diet you can discuss with your doctor. The diet consists of 60% fat, 30% protein and 10% carbohydrate by weight; calories are not restricted. Older children and adolescents who refuse the ketogenic diet's restrictions may tolerate the modified Atkins diet. I hope this can help. Please do update us. Take care and regards to Mimi.
Avatar f tn After trying many prophylactic meds which help others, nothing worked or I had bad side effects until I got on Petadolex--an herbal medication which did help some. Their website is: www.petadolex.com and their free Patient Info line is: 1-888-301-1084. Also what helped me even more are nerve block injections every 4 weeks and Botox injections every 9 weeks, plus a neuropathic gel that acts like an anti-inflammation on the skin. Plus more serious pain killers when nothing else works.
Avatar n tn 1. Does anyone have any idea as to what causes this condition to begin in the first place? I'm very frustrated by suggestions that it "must be stress" in the absence of an obvious physical cause. I know myself well, and stress is not the answer, nor is caffiene, alcohol, etc. Could a virus have triggered this? If so, is this type of condition generally life long, or time limited? I somehow feel either hormones or a virus must be the underlying culprit.
Avatar n tn Implanon, depot medroxyprogesterone (DMPA) and Norplant used to prevent ovulation are well known for causing depressive moods and emotional lability, Stemetil is used for nausea and is related to medications used in psychiatry (phenothiazines) which cause very troublesome side effects; that is the reason you were given Cogentin. The effects of Implanon should wear off soon. Neither of these medication should have permanent consequences.
Avatar n tn However, 5mg tablets are not available in all countries and it would be normal to prescribe 80mg to a patient weighing 75mg. Side effects are generally dose-related, but 5mg would not make a big difference. Accutane has many potential side effects but this must be balanced against the fact it is the most effective acne treatment available. These side effects are described in great detail in the literature enclosed with the tablets. Were you given this?
Avatar n tn I've wondered if there were any side effects to worry about if i should get pregnant while taking provera. i have searched the internet looking for any info i can find. But still always end up confused yet hopeful. my dr. has me starting clomid on days 3 thru 7 of my peroid. im so excited and can't wait. im also supposed to have a procedure during my period called hystosalpingogram, where they check my fallopian tubes to make sure they are open and free from obstructions.
Avatar n tn They say they dont like you to go more than six months without a period simply because its good for your uterus to shed its lining and clean itself out. The medication did work but had some side effects for me. Years later, when I was a newly wed my periods stopped once again. We were also trying to concieve at the time and wondering if it was going to be possible when I hadnt had a period in 6 months or so.
Avatar n tn Didn't know it was a shot which may be enough to deter me from taking it. Now you mention that the side effects and I'm wondering if I should just continue taking the pill and take my chances. My husband and I are probably going to try to get pregnant within 6-9 months, so I am trying to do a cost/benefit analysis here. I really don't want to take anything that may make my life a living hell again. Headaches-I get bad ones anyway!
Avatar n tn IT WAS THOUGHT THAT DUE TO BACK PAIN HEAY MENSTRUAL CYCLE THAT I HAD FIBRIODS I WAS TESTED FOR THAT AND DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING IN MEAN WHIL I WAS TAKING MEDICINE CALLED MEDROXYPROGESTERONE WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO REGULATE CYCLE AND LET FLOW OF BLOOD BE NORMAL WELL I TOOK THIS MEDICATION FOR 12 DAYS WHILE TKNG IT MY NORMAL CYCLE WENT OFF AND I BLED FOR 2 WEEKS . 280700 tn?1210287416 My side effects were hot flashes, moodiness, breast tenderness, cramping, fatigue, nausea, and extreme hunger which lead to weight gain and I'm still feeling those side effects. Since so many of those side effects are symptoms of pregnancy it was very upsetting to find out I didn't ovulate and I'm not pregnant. Hoping for better results next cycle...
Avatar n tn (Maybe due to a low thyroid). Unfortunately I have been suffering through the periods without medication since October 2004 because I was hoping to get preg. I was told this was a possibility because the bleeding does not always correspond with ovulation. It is emotional to live like this, it is really depressing to wear a pad everyday. Please share any help that you find and I promise to do the same.
1340863 tn?1366644684 I lost weight when I first strarted and when I started the Follistim, I started gaining fast. It's so hard dealing with the side effects of all the meds! Avatar n tn My husband have been trying for the past year, but I have not had a period in over a year without the help of medication. My doc has me on an estrogen/progestrone cycle...which still has not jumpstarted my periods naturally. My doc tells me that we still can have a baby (but no luck yet), but I too feel broken.
299260 tn?1304219705 Okay, now I'll play catch-up :) kmcarino: I don't know anything about your disorder, but I'll look it up after I post. I'm sorry, I'm sure the decision to reduce is not an easy one for you! rachjas: When I first started ttc, my luteal phase was only 9 days & that's when I was put on progesterone suppositories. They increased my luteal phase quite a bit & with them and clomid, my lp is now 15+ days.
Avatar n tn C I experienced some cramping on one side near my ovaries. It was accompanied by alot of thick ovulation type discharge. Much more than I usually saw during ovulation. I went to the doc and he said that this was normal and that my body was probably trying to regulate and ovulate.
