One way to find out what is causing the lows is to change the timing of your long acting insulin injection. If you are injecting NPH before bed, you can expect it to cause a low at about 3am. Try having this injection in the morning instead. If the night time lows stop, you have solved the problem. If they don't stop, it could be because of the combined effect of exercise and the dinner time short-acting shot.

the length of time of vial of generic insulin depends on what your insulin dose is. For example. A vial of insulin has 1000 Units. If you are taking say 50 units a day, then this vial will last for 20 days.
I used mixed insulin in the past, and while it can be quite effective, because it is a fixed amount of both medium and short acting insulin, you will need to eat on schedule to avoid going low.
The other thing to mention is that sometimes Type 2 can be managed quite well on oral medications and never require insulin, whereas some require insulin form the start. Each individual is quite different,as can be their diabetes course.
In regard to supplements, because the diseases are quite different especially at the start, it is not likely that any supplements will work for both. I am not sure what you refer to as "supplements"--I assumed herbal medications and vitamins.
My fasting levels range between 126 and 136 ( first thing in the morning ) and during the day they keep coming down 90 to 108. They get to around 90 after a long brisk walk. I have had a glucose tolerance test done and the fasting reading was 136 and after 2 hours it was 115.
So, I am kinda a confused. I have a diabetic reading for fasting, but a normal non-diabetic reading for the 'after 2 hours. So, what's going on?
are you given heparin or any other anticoagulant during the cath? Heparin is gotten usually from pig intestines or lungs. Some other types are synthetic.

People absolutely CAN prevent this from happening. Losing weight is a very good at and this is often accomplished through physical fitness (on a regular basis) and eating a healthy diet. High in vegetables, low in sugar/fat. Whole grains and fiber. This is one health issues that many can have a direct affect on by their own actions.

i was treated with himulin 30/70 insulin for a years and usually my fasting sugar is high (200-400) and now my new doctor give me lantus and apidra insulin instead of himulin insulin and now my fasting sugar reaches to 215 not exceeded. Are lantus and apidra combatable for me?? and what are the side effects of them??????????
