Another question from me:P, i have been reading around latley, and have found many differnt types of insulin,and insulin pumpsm etc. all with there pro's,and cons. If possible, could someone please explain to me the differnt types of insulin, and ways of managing diabeties, and the pros and cons of them.

Food, Exercise, Meds, Life Style the same, yet one or two months b/g is the same, then suddenly the b/g drops drastically with a need to cut insulin dose in half, but when the dose is cut a great need to urinate and drink a lot and weight loss indicating the need for more insulin, yet b/g stays very low for some days or so. What's happening to this type 1 brittle diabetic for over 20 years?! Months later b/g goes up and stays up, need for more insulin to level things out.

Even now, we're still just adjusting to the eating and injection schedule, and you will too. It takes time, and we'll never really "get used to it", but it's all we can do for our kids. Our son's last HbA1c check was 7.
Always had it under ocntrol, eating right, etc.Abount a year and a half ago, i decided to stop taking insulin because i read a stupid book "natural cures they dont want u to know abouit" which said to stop all insulin and get cured. Since then, i have lost a lot of weight, too much weight for me. I went fro a size 9 to a 3. I have had an ongoing yeast infetion for a year now. I very recently started taking my insulin again, and i eat a lot, but dont gain weight.
Two things that I love are that there is no more long acting insulin, and it keeps a record for so much stuff. The no long acting insulin means that my basals can change every half hour. I spent years on Lantus, like a yo yo. Raise it and I crashed in the afterneen, lower it and the high fasting got higher. A few thoughts come to mind -- even tho' you're a teen ;-)
Often our summer schedules are different from school-year schedules and it's reasonable to expect to make changes in our diabetes management, too. I'm not sure which long-acting insulin you're taking, but it sounds as tho' it's not Lantus -- one of the newer insulins that doesn't *have* a real peak and lasts about 24 hours.
