I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) is the same one used in flonase..
It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth.
The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
Were you trying to treat your cough with the Flonase? Was your doctor clear on that?

If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip.

We are thinking of trying the allergy drops therapy and would love to know if any of you have tried that? This type of treatment is newer than the shots and we are stuck on deciding what company/brand to use. Looking for the one with a great track record.

Explain about your insurance and see what he can come up with. One thing with Flovent is that after you use it you have to rinse or you could get thrush or bad sore throats.

Hello, ever since at least early this year (Jan/Feb maybe earlier) I have had something on my right nostrils septum growing. it grew for a while and I had something that felt similar in the other nostrils septum grow and was unable to see it well. I now need to wait two months to see what is going on with that. In the mean time, another antibiotic and she renewed the Flonase (I decided to not take what she gave me or very little). t understand asthma at all. It is hard to get most of them to listen to you. Yellow zone peak flow = agressive treatment.
You may want to request seeing an allergist. Most allergists treat asthma more effectively than any other type of doctor because most asthmatics also have allergies. That might by a better option for you.

This is by far my worst allergy year ever..but really only in my eyes. I wake up to red, runny eyes that are super itchy. I was itching so hard that I wrinkled my eye membrane..freaky! I went through virtuwell and they said it was allergic conjunctivitis prescribing Olopatadine drops. Its been about 6 days now and no real relief. I've tried Zyrtec, Flonase, Benedryl and now Claratin with very limited relief. Anyone have a magic combination that works?

I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.

The best thing is to blow your nose prior to using it and then wait as long as you possibly can before blowing your nose again. s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
I've had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
Thursday my female 10 lb. 2 year old Japanes chin was lethargic and not eating. She was givin Reglan and Pepcid at the clinic. Friday still lethargic not eating and had a fever. Friday she had blood work and xrays. Everything was normal except slightly anemic. Also a questionable gas pattern and a dark area in the stomach on xray. was given fluids, baytril injection, and ampicillan injection. Went home with bayrtil prescribed once a day and probiotic, still on pepcid.
