Common Questions and Answers about What does flonase treat

Avatar m tn Were you trying to treat your cough with the Flonase? Was your doctor clear on that? Flonase can cause coughing as a side effect - https://www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything?
Avatar f tn In the mean time, another antibiotic and she renewed the Flonase (I decided to not take what she gave me or very little). Now, I have symptoms of Acid Reflux and I believe this is all due to the fact that I started something I never should have. I haven't been sleeping and don't know when I will. Very frustrated and not sure what to do. Seeing my primary on Monday to discuss what to do and if I should maybe take Prilosec to see if the Acid Reflux symptoms subside.
Avatar n tn Hello, My son has been suffering from the environmental (pollen, dust) allergies for a long time. He's been on Zertec and Flonase for years. We are thinking of trying the allergy drops therapy and would love to know if any of you have tried that? This type of treatment is newer than the shots and we are stuck on deciding what company/brand to use. Looking for the one with a great track record. Thank you in advance for your feedback and advice!
Avatar f tn The folliculitis is limited to the scalp only. I am real curious about the Flonase use ,but also read of a connection toi high tryglycerides, which I do have a problem with. No test have been done, saw family physician, she only suggested a dandruff shampoo. I have been using T- Gel and Demerex.
Avatar m tn Dr. Prescribed Flonase for vertigo. The way to apply, he said, was to have head down and use the opposite hand for each nostril.
464237 tn?1315670793 What a coincidence First week I used over the counter Flonase I caught a nasty cold. a few weeks later I used it again and caught another flu type illness. I just read these posts and have figured out that Flonase lowers the immune systems. Throwing this stuff out!
Avatar f tn Several years ago my doctor told me I had post nasal drip and prescribed Flonase. I use it every morning. But at night I snore really bad. My poor husband has really bad sinus issues, worse than mine but he doesn't snore half as bad as me. But when I wake up in the morning I have so much mucus in my throat and I can't cough it all up, just some. My nose isn't too bad in the mornings but it gets worse throughout the day.
Avatar f tn I was using it for my allergies my sinuses were so congested it was making my teeth and face hurt so bad and giving me a clogged ear with an ear ache. It did seem to help some but now she wants me to not use it for a couple of weeks to see if that was causing my nose irriation she said some people have that problem from using this product. So if it was the problem not sure what they will use for my allergies. It's always something lol.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
Avatar m tn You mentioned: "In newly infected persons, HBsAg (Hepatitis B surface Antigen) can be detected during the first 3--5 weeks after infection. " This means that the ANTIGEN itself can be detected, not the ANTIBODY, correct?? I'm at 7 weeks post-exposure; so you are saying that the viral load test, RNA PCR, will still detect the virus directly at this point, correct??
Avatar f tn ENT said eustachian tube dysfunction due to allergies (tested positive for various inhalent allergies) and said to use Xyzal and Flonase. Xyzal made me too sleepy so stopped, and Flonase has done nothing. ENT said it would take Flonase a month to clear up the ETD. The constant ear popping wouldn't bother me if it weren't accompanied by the lightheadedness and brain fog, which sometimes by the end of the day turns into a very bad headache and then disappears.
Avatar f tn t been on the Flonase long enough to provide control. But I am not wheezing...just stuck in the yellow zone anywhere from 360-390...after my rescue inhaler I can push it up to over 400 but it doesn't last for long. I am only slightly more winded with an occasional cough. My question is this....What do I do...When I go to my PCP they are unimpressed because I am not wheezing but I am in the Yellow Zone.....
Avatar f tn ve tried 3 different antibiotics for sinus infection. Also tried flonase, allegra, and Sudafed. Nothing seems to help. I feel pressure mostly in my forehead. I don't have any congestion with mucus or anything. I've had a sinus x-ray, CT scan, and MRI, which were all fine and showed nothing wrong with sinuses. I usually clean my ears out with a q tip after showering. I used to get some wax out, however, after this started, I can't get any wax out.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar n tn A good initial treatment is a nasal steroid spray, like Flonase. Zyrtec or Claritin might also be effective. If medical management does not work, immunotherapy (allergy shots) might be required to desensitize you to the things to which you are allergic.
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar f tn I think I finally realized what has been the cause of my burning mouth: Flonase. I avoided it for other reasons but just started it up a few days ago to clear my sinuses. And sure enough burning mouth and tongue returned! Ugh!
Avatar n tn This is by far my worst allergy year ever..but really only in my eyes. I wake up to red, runny eyes that are super itchy. I was itching so hard that I wrinkled my eye membrane..freaky! I went through virtuwell and they said it was allergic conjunctivitis prescribing Olopatadine drops. Its been about 6 days now and no real relief. I've tried Zyrtec, Flonase, Benedryl and now Claratin with very limited relief. Anyone have a magic combination that works?
Avatar m tn Does anyone know of a medication that can shrink nasal polyps without the use of corticosteroids?? I currently take flonase, but need to discontinue usage due to the fact that I'm trying to fight off an infection. Thanks for any info that can be provided !!
Avatar f tn Have you been tested for any bacterial infections, like Strep throat? Bad smells are sometimes associated with bacterial infections. If it's not getting better, you should definitely go back to the doctor instead of self-medicating with Flonase. If it's not allergies, Flonase won't help and might make the situation worse.
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
3240655 tn?1346723677 A recent CT scan revealed two normal sized cysts in my upper left sinuses. But I only was recommended Flonase. The ENT persuaded me from surgery to remove the cyst, because he didn't think it would help, in his experience. He also believed, my problems may be because of allergies. He would go for the surgery if I wanted though. I'm trying the Flonase for the last 3 months with no change in sweet rotten smell from sinus.
1939607 tn?1324289300 I have also had this same experience. (symptoms below). I think I have an allergy to Flonase! The details of severe and less severe side effects of the drug are found here: http://www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm I think it's the Flonase, in my case adverse reactions are: mild swelling (throat), sore throat, white sores/dry spots in the throat, nausea and vomiting, sinus irritation and congestion, pain in the lymph node area.
867954 tn?1356900863 I've had chronic sinus infections pretty much for years. I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc.
