mri-scan

Avatar f tn Anyways, you can totally see unfused vertebrae on an MRI but a CT is way easier. Your MRA should be neat.

Avatar n tn Moreover, the contrast allows the doctors to observe functional abnormalities that are not visible on a regular scan like how well blood flowing through your vessels. Gadolinium is used as the contrast, and you must intimate the doctor or technician about any previous allergies to the contrast or previously compromised renal function. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Please explain what demyelin is, whether it can be detected from an MRI scan and how it can be cured.
Avatar n tn i have had a mri scan and the result is that the left disc in my neck has moved and is resting on the nerve causing a lot of pain and the movement on my left side is a lot slower than the right side what is the treatment for this
Avatar m tn However, you have had a CT, and that is also used a great deal for tumors so unless it was tiny - your tumor was likely picked up. There are nerve palsies that effect the face such as Bells Palsy and the like - but I would seek out a neurologist that treats nerve disorders and get EMGs and all to make sure that is not the issue as well. Things that effect the nerves do not show up on any imaging.
Avatar m tn I get a stinging pain on top of my head on right hand side about tree inches from my forhead. It feels like a blister under the skin. I have had an MRI scan and have a small Mengioma but that is on the other side. There was nothing to explain the stinging. I read elsewhere on this site that Clanzpine 2.5 ml should work for it but it didn't say what the complaint was. Any idea?
Avatar n tn An MRI does not give off any radiation as it takes pictures from aligning magnets. It does take about 45 minutes for an abdominal MRI, whereas a CT scan is about 5-10 minutes... It sounds like wherever you went, they did it correctly!
Avatar m tn I hope that someone else can provide you more info. I have spent time trying to research it on-line, but didn't find out much except that there appears to be different kinds and causes of it. BTW, it is spelled "hemorrhagic migraine". You might spend more time to find out more about it on-line, but the very best thing to do is to get more information about it from your doctor who will know about your particular case.
Avatar m tn It feels like a large pressure inside my head, and people have describe that my face changes from bright red to pale white every few seconds when this occurs. When this happens, it lasts for usualy 1 to 2 hours. An MRI scan I had a while back, not sure how long exactly, showed that I had some sort of blood circulation problems, although I have no further understanding on what this was. I have pretty much no medical knowledge so this confuses me greatly. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Well after 4 long weeks of waiting for my MRI scan, i arrive at the MRI unit yesterday evening only to be told as im getting onto the scanner that my MRI has been requested without contrast. i did try to tell the radiographer that it should have been with contrast as it was to diagnose MS. The radiographer told me that contrast didnt matter and that MS would show on the type of scan they were doing (i know this not strictly true).
Avatar n tn What is usually treatment for a thoracic lesion! They are doing a biopsy but I am worried about what it could be. He said it's a strong possiblility it is inflammation is that true?
Avatar f tn Hi, I do not think that you are overreacting as it is normal for a person to be concerned about lesions noticed on the MRI scan. Also, any change in the type of the headache should be investigated to find out the cause. Although it is difficult to comment without looking at the MRI scan, I think that these could be white matter lesions (WMLs) which are seen more often in migraine patients but their association with migraine is not understood.
Avatar m tn I used them for a few years for HCV management, and personally found them very capable and professional. Here’s a link to their website: http://www.sutterpacific.org/services/liver.html http://www.cpmc.
Avatar m tn If you do get an MRI make sure you have it done with and without contrast, if not you just wasted a lot of time and money.... and DO NOT just go with what your doctor says. I have seen countless times when docs ASSUME that contrast will be used because it is the STANDARD practice when searching for an acoustic nueroma. Trouble is, the folks running the MRI machine do not know that.
Avatar n tn MRI is a much better test for headaches, although substantially more expensive. There may be some rare circumstances where a CT scan might add additional information to the MRI.
Avatar n tn My obgyn said if necessary i should get one, what good is a healthy baby without a healthy mom. I am just worried about the effects on the baby. I am 27 weeks, work full time, and have a 2 year old. I am just so conflicted with what to do, not sure i can last another 13 weeks with this kind of pain. Tylenol does not help.
Avatar n tn I am now being referred to a specialist who will order either a PET scan or an MRI. I am 51 and quit smoking 20 years ago.I am trying to keep this in perspective but am struggling with my mind and imagining the worst. I am also wondering whether most/ some lesions are cancerous? Are there pre-existing factors that would cause the lesions to be cancerous? I have already posted this somewhere on this site before I found this specific area. Sorry about that. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn Hi i have been having a headache that hurts so bad its been disabling went to the er twice and the 2nd time they did a ct scan of head which showed sinusitis rest was normal the hospital said that the insurance would not approve a mri because its so expensive and said i would have to go to the dr.
1139187 tn?1355706647 I have had a sonogram of my thyroid but not an MRI. Should I ask for an MRI. WHAT DO I ASK FOR? (my internal medicine doctor will request it). 2. My internal medicine doctor has a blood sheet where he is testing my TSH, t4 free, and t-3 free. Are there any other tests he should ask for? I just had an MRI of my pituary gland, waiting for the results but im sure it will be negative. Thank you.
