Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting symptoms infants

vomiting

Avatar n tn Her gastro doctor had her tested for this due to frequent vomiting (she still grew at an impressive rate and was in good spirits most days). Is vomiting a common sympton of c diff in infants? She is on antibiotics right now and I am very hopeful that this will cure her of her frequent vomiting. Also, she has never had diarhea, as a matter of fact, she has been constipated since she was 3 months old and has been given a dose of Myrilax daily. Can c diff also be the cause of constipation?
Avatar f tn however, later studies have not confirmed this finding. Signs of toxicity and symptoms of withdrawal have been reported in infants following high doses or chronic maternal use close to term. Diphenhydramine has been evaluated for the treatment of hyperemesis gravidarum. It is generally not considered the antihistamine of choice for treating allergic rhinitis or nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. Breast-Feeding Considerations Infants may be more sensitive to the effects of antihistamines.
Avatar f tn I have been vomitting with no pain or any other symptoms for the last 5-6 months. This started happening after my spouce and I split up after a long relationship so I figured it was stress induced. It has been quite some time now and the vomitting is still happening (sometimes very violently without any warning). I have seen my doctor twice and I have gone for 2 ultra sounds.
Avatar m tn wrong, Shigella are bacteria that can infect the digestive tract and cause a wide range of symptoms, from diarrhea, cramping, vomiting, and nausea, to more serious complications and illnesses. Infections, called shigellosis, sometimes go away on their own; in others, antibiotics can shorten the course of the illness. Shigellosis, which is most common during the summer months, usually affects kids 2 to 4 years old and rarely infects infants younger than 6 months old.
Avatar f tn In people with coeliac disease this immune reaction is triggered by gluten, a collective name for a type of protein found in the cereals wheat, rye and barley. It can occur at any age. There is some difference in symptoms in infants and adults. In babies, gut symptoms may develop after weaning onto gluten cereals. Other symptoms include muscle wasting in the arms and legs, a bloated tummy and irritability.
Avatar n tn Hi! I am not sure if GERD can be a result of a parent taking Suboxone. I'm sure it's possible. You could check to see what class of drug it is as it relates to pregnancy. However, I do know that GERD is pretty common in infants. I took my son, 9 at the time, to a pediatric gastroenterologist for chronic vomiting. (He's doing very well now!) There were so many strollers with tiny babies in the office!!! I asked the doc why so many babies.
Avatar f tn Lol I got it all.
Avatar f tn My son (2 years old) had a head injury a month ago. He fell on his back and hit his head on a thick glass, that was on the floor (one can still see an arc on the back of his head). The glass didn't brake (thank God), it didn't even move, so i suppose that he landed exactly ON it! there was a lot of blood.
Avatar m tn visit ur nearest audiologist and go through Brain Stem Response testings to see whether its a cranial nerve impairment or not coz such symptoms may be sometimes due to some cranial nerve disfunctioning.
Avatar n tn Adolescents and adults who have CM but no symptoms initially may, later in life, develop signs of the disorder. Infants may have symptoms from any type of CM and may have difficulty swallowing, irritability when being fed, excessive drooling, a weak cry, gagging or vomiting, arm weakness, a stiff neck, breathing problems, developmental delays, and an inability to gain weight. I also agree with Rebecca about Dr Rosner and he is an amazing doctor and knows more about this condition than anyone.
Avatar n tn My son age 21 has had problems with nausea and vomiting, GERD, a large hiatal hernia and IBS since he was a baby all of which exacerbated his Asthma. He also had a congenital heart defect, which was corrected when he was 12. He had stomach surgery when he was 13. The Dr. removed his gallbladder, had a NISSAN and a feeding tube. He was in the hospital for 2 months after his surgery while the Drs were trying to find out why he was vomiting so much.
Avatar m tn old young man) was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, so was put on a dose of 50mcg of Levothyroxine. After a week or so, he began exhibiting symptoms of mania, delusional thinking, and paranoia. He saw the doctor who had prescribed the Levothyroxine, and told him how he was feeling. the doctor sent him to the emergency room. That night, he entered a psych hospital and has been there for 6 days.
Avatar n tn Nutramigen formula is for infants that cannot tolerate other formulas. To help you with the vomiting here is a few pointers. The feeding position is important and should be almost a sitting up position when feeding her. Never lay the baby on her back right after eating because the acid from the stomach goes into the esophagus and causes pain. Raise the head of her crib to a 45-degree angle too so she is not flat on her back. Feeding her 5-6 times day will help. Hoped this helped.
Avatar n tn Take over the counter antacid and antiemetic (this SOS for vomiting). Watch out for a day or two with this treatment. If still the symptoms persist, then you may need an antibiotic for the gut and would need to see a doctor. If after the antibiotic course too the symptoms persist, then there is a chance that you have developed either IBS or some food intolerance. In that case you would need to consult a gastroenterologist. Please go through as advised.
385668 tn?1301793880 ve not heard of it happening in adults, but I know that it does happen in infants. They can have sudden severe instances of bradycardia due to feeding and acid reflux. I think most docs would say it couldn't happen, but?
Avatar f tn During her pregnancy she took a turn for the worse and had many hypo symptoms but blamed it on pregnancy and did not get tested. She delivered with a midwife at home and I guess the heel ***** was not succesful so in this case it is not really realevent. But I am getting to something else with this. She still has many hypo symptoms but feels the blame is from loosing her child and being a busy mother.
