Common Questions and Answers about Vomiting cat question

vomiting

Avatar f tn I have one cat that vomits everyday. When this first happened she was on dry food and the vomiting was so bad that she was losing a large amount of weight (starving to death). Took her in to the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her so they gave her some meds to take before she ate. I took the food and soaked in water to soften it up seemed to help for awhile.
Avatar f tn My cat was coughing and breathing heavy. I took her to the Vet and after they took X-Ray I was told she has to be under medication for two weeks. I started her on Clavamox 15 ML but after couple of days I noticed she vomits after each intake. I was told by the Vet to give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait 20 minutes before giving her Clavamox. She is not eating food and I am giving her Garbor baby food (chicken and rice) along with Clavamox. I noticed she still vomits after each intake.
Avatar m tn my male cat was neutered 4 days ago, every time he eats he vomits ,even water.
Avatar f tn How can I stop my cat from vomiting? She is taking Clavamox drops and was vomiting after each use. I spoke to her Vet and was told that I should give her Metochlopramide 5 MG first and wait for 20 minutes and then give her Clavamox. She is not eating and Vet suggested to give her baby food with the Clavomox. I am doing what I was told but my cat is still vomiting.
Avatar f tn Sounds to me like she may need at least an xray to see if there is a blockage in her intestines----This is very serious and urgent that you let the Vet do what he needs to do . Vomiting everything she eats was what caused my cat to have exploratory surgery to see if there was a blockage---thank God there wasn't but she was a very sick little girl..
592969 tn?1248325405 Oh my gosh!! My pickiest cat, Butters, refuses any salmon flavored food. He won't even eat fresh salmon. Best thoughts for your cat. I've had my other cat, Bob, have an episode of vomiting but it cleared right up w/in a few hours and we surmised he ate a bug or something like that.
436973 tn?1217947089 How often is normal for kitties to have upset tummies? My cat seems to vomit a few of times a month. Often twice in a day then she'll be fine for a couple of weeks and then again twice in a day. She doesn't ever act like she doesn't feel well. Just throws up and is done with it. It is not hairbally at all. Shoould I be worried?
Avatar n tn You are taking action and you will get your cat treated. He will be fine you’ll see. I’m not sure why he is vomiting but I’m positive it will stop. Please keep us updated and let us know how the vet visit went as soon as you can. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. I can tell you love your pet very much.
Avatar f tn My question, do I need to take her to the emergency vet or just take her to her vet first thing Monday morning. Both of her human parents are in the medical profession and we don't want to over react but we don't want to wait to long either. Jade is only 11 lbs.
Avatar f tn my cat is an indoor outdoor cat she was fine this morning and was mainly indoors all day today. this afternoon she started to vomit(looked like her dry food) shaking and walking off balance almost as if she was drunk. she did her flea drops but on her yesterday. what should i do?
Avatar m tn They have their Masters in psychology So this is how it works with a cat. You have to wait for the behavior to happen and then encourage it if you want the cat to continue or IGNORE it if you want the cat to stop that behavior. An example--Cat wants in the bedroom at night so he tries some things to get your Reaction.
Avatar n tn Hello My Cat Luna has been vomiting a little bit more than usual the past couple of days. She doesn't usually vomit more than once or twice every 2 or 3 weeks. Last week, I went away and had my mom cat-sit for me. When I came back and brought the cat back to the house, she's been vomiting BEFORE i feed her. Which makes no sense. Her food hasn't been changed. I feed her the Iams hairball care/weight control for indoor cats.
Avatar m tn You might do better on the dog or cat forum. I use the dog form often and it is at: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Dogs/show/4 Someone there may be able to help directly or refer you to the cat forum, or look on the pull down menu above "Forums" and look for "cat". Now reading your post euthanize came immediately to mind. I guess some cats live a long time but 17 years sounds like longer than usual.
4443289 tn?1354656043 My cat vomited up his food on Sunday morning, so I gave him a little tuna (since it was soft food), he later then threw that up, and wouldn't eat anything else. He continued throwing up for the rest of Sunday and Monday morning. Obviously he only began throwing up white or clear liquid since he had nothing left in him. I took him to the vet on Monday and they said they couldn't feel any blockage and his temperature was fine. They gave him a shot to calm his stomach.
Avatar f tn Three weeks ago I adopted a young cat who's owner passed away. When I got the cat, I was told she was depressed and wasn't eating much but wasn't given much of a medical history (or her age). I didn't think much of it and assumed she would be okey with time. I have tried feeding her two brands of dry food - one which she didn't like at all and another that she ate but kept throwing up.
Avatar m tn Can I ask what the results of using vinegar have been? Never spray your cat with vinegar. Water is ok for behavioral problems; but vinegar is not. If water doesn't help, that's when you know something serious is calling for your attention. So good job for taking him to the vet. Another question. Did you adopt him first and then you got your female or did you get the female first?
Avatar f tn I have a 3 year old male cat. He occasionally regurgitates immediately after eating..this occurs 1-2x monthly. I have fed him Nature's Variety line since he was a kitten...for the past 2 years I have fed him Nature's Variety Instinct. He LOVES this food. I brought my cat to the vet today for a physical...and the vet recommended I give him a type of Purina food that is easily digestible. However, Nature's Variety is such a better quality food....
Avatar f tn We adopted a cat from the Humane Society about a month and a half ago. He is approx. one year old. Since we brought him home we have been battling with diarriah and vomiting. The vet put him on antiobiotics and recommended chicken and rice for diet. The cat has an appetite and was eating for about 4 days without any vomiting, and finally had a solid stool. Then all of a sudden he vomited over the weekend again and then on Monday he vomited in 4 different spots of the house.
562511 tn?1285904160 Can you help me to understand what happened to my grown daughter's cat? She delivered a healthy litter on Easter. (7 weeks ago) She was a little thin and had an insatiable appetite. She'd been nursing 5 robust kittens - almost weaned now. Yesterday the queen had some vomiting and diarrhea. She was taken to the vet this morning and was told she had tissue growing around her stomach, approximately 6 times more than normal.
Avatar n tn Out of curiosity why have you allowed this vomiting to go on for 6-9 months. If this were my cat, and my cat was vomiting after each meal, you better believe I would have visited my vet a long time ago. Purina at best is not a good quality food. She probably has lost weight but you just don't see it. I would suggest making an appointment and getting her to your vet as soon as possible. Vomiting after a meal for such a long time is not good.
