Avatar f tn Hi everyone! I'm looking for natural remedies like supplements and vitamins that are best for combatting it. I've heard saw palmetto and licorice helps, but I wanted to know what you ladies use personally and what works best. I have hirsutism, terrible acne and I am overweight. I also believe I am prediabetic, as my grandmother on my father's side had diabetes and my mother, so it runs in both sides of the family.
Avatar f tn t eat meat what is the bast way to get enough B12. Also I had problem with acne and my dermatologist told me that B12 supplements can cause acne? Now I don't feel comfortable taking supplements but I also don't want to get low on B12 again.
Avatar f tn What other supplements/vitamins are you ladies taking or suggest to take besides prenatals? !

560272 tn?1311350293 Has anyone tried the supplements for anxiety? From what I've read, it is recommended that people with anxiety take the following: Daily multi/mineral vitamin B-complex (50-100mg) Vitamin C (1,000mg twice daily) Calcium-Magnesium (1,000 mg cal-500 mg mag- ratio) (and then some women who still have periods need extra iron, and also natural progesterone cream) If you have tried this, does it help? Or can you even tell a difference?
Avatar n tn After three years on it, I began to suffer from bad chin/jawline and back acne, and was menstruating for two weeks at a time. I have now stopped the injection and started on the Qlaira contraceptive/birth control pill, which I know is not especially for improving acne as some are (Yaz, Diane 35), but I want to know how likely this change is to help, as i really am at the end of my tether. I'm about a week into my second pack and so far, nothing has changed - for better or worse.
Avatar n tn A change in diet is usually the cause of my breakouts-- and I normally have very balanced skin as well. Usually the culprit is too many oily foods one week or taking too many oily supplements/vitamins that throw my pH off balance. Also overwashing/scrubbing skin can take off the protective layer, exposing your pores to bacteria and causing breakouts. This is another issue I've experienced myself. Do some brainstorming and cut back on whatever you suspect might be the cause.
Avatar m tn is it ok to take vitamins such as vitamin B complex, vitamin C or vitamin E for a hepatitis b patient?just to boost immune sytem. is there any vitamins that are really recomended for HBV patients like me?
Avatar f tn ANyone take any special supplements such as vitamins or mineral or other supplements to relieve the CFS symptoms. I currently take amino acid herbs and vitamin d3.
Avatar f tn Not so!! Some vitamins actually stay in your body. Vitamins are broken up into two categories: fat soluble, such as A, D, E or K, and water soluble, including all of the B vitamins and vitamin C. Fat-soluble vitamins stay in your body, whereas water-soluble vitamins are absorbed immediately, with any excess being excreted in urine.
Avatar n tn I appreciate the antibiotics, but they haven't done much for me either. But have you tried low percentage retin-a cream? This may be a solution for you. Applied at night, the thin layer of cream can do wonders in a matter of weeks, and over several months, there's a big improvement. I've used it as an acne treatment, and my 50+ age mother uses it for acne, wrinkles, and overall skin appearance. She looks fabulous for her age!
Avatar f tn Vitamins and minerals are very important for the human body. They strengthen the immune system, they has positive effects on the heart, nervous system, bones etc. It is very important their daily intake, with fruit,vegetables,cereals,fish,meat...
Avatar f tn s recommendated safe limit for vitamins is so much lower than recommended by the manufacturer of those vitamins. For example, the FDA states a safe dosage for vit C is 120 ml, but I take 1000 ml, or 1 gram daily which is recommended by many vitamin experts. So in the past I really relied on vitamins to stay health, but also took the dosage amounts that they indicated would give the best results. I could have hurt myself, but I guess I will never know since I have not had a bx.
1722607 tn?1335747858 What are good vitamins/supplements to take? I'm not in treatment yet, and wanted to know what I can take while waiting to treat. I've heard people mention milk thistle. What about vitamin c or d?
Avatar f tn What kind of specialist is best to see to find out which supplements would be best for me to take?
102999 tn?1326855784 I have been taking many supplements and vitamins for many years now at the advisement of a nutritionist/pharmacist in town. I feel some of these have really helped. But not really sure what does what at this point. Drs around here really don't believe in vitamins and the more natural routes. My insurance doesn't cover the docs that deal with it. So it is very difficult to get trustworthy info/advice. Question is...could any of these be aggravating my PACs? Thoughts?
935493 tn?1248796864 C occasionally. I did some research on what vitamins and minerals were good for inflammation and started this in 2005. Recently I've had so many inflammatory conditions show up and MS..that I can't say what is working or what is not. My doctors think that what I am taking is just fine. Personally I think that my recent conditions are a result from the stress during the winter trying to take care of a very difficult mother.
Avatar m tn besides drugs that treat ed are there any herbal vitamins or supplements that help?
