This is an excellent question. Vitamins and isotretinoin can be tricky. B12 in general can actually be traced to acne flare ups. Isotretinoin can decrease B12 levels. Low B12 can be problematic. But generally is isn't recommended (B12) to be taken with Isotretinoin very often. I am glad you are followed by a doctor, is he the one who prescribed the isotretinioin? And why are you having the B12 added? I would talk to them about it as well as ask your usual pharmacist.

I started taking several types of vitamins like Vitamin A, primrose, Vitamin B to help, but so far my acne seems to be getting worse. I am so frustrated. I have been on accutane twice. Does anyone have any suggestions to help improve my acne? I just feel so depressed with my skin breaking out.
Birth control pills do wonders for my acne. As long as I'm on them, my acne is reduce by 99%, and I generally have a clear face, except for an occasional very mild flair up around my period. However, a couple of days ago I started getting zits. Today I asked myself what have I done differently in the past couple of days. Then it hit me! I started taking fish oil capsules and B-Complex vitamin tablets 3 days ago!
a) overwashing/exfoliating, or b) consuming too much peanut/almond butter or oil-based vitamins and supplements.
Working out as you know is great for the skin as long as you are sure to wash the sweat from your skin afterwards.
Think about what changed when you turned 20-- changes in your diet, cleansing routine and intake of any medications or vitamins.
I agree- I dont think think a lack of vitamins would cause acne- but it doesnt hurt to take vitamins just for healthy living!
I use and love proactiv. I'm a 24/f and I also suffer from breakouts and proactiv works really well. Try drinking a lot of water too- it really helps clear up your skin!
I know accutane works- but I also know a lot of people who have suffered some adverse reactions from it. i would search www.adverse-drug-reaction.
Acne along the jawline and the neck and back indicate a hormonal imbalance for women. Typically, men get acne in those areas. There is no one answer for everyone.
The first food to get rid of, in my opinion, is cow's milk products. That is the food that gives my daughter acne in those areas. My daughter needed to get several things out of her diet to cure her acne. It's not easy for her and every time she cheats, she gets flare ups.
Zinc acts like an antibiotic as well as a promotor of healing, and it works particularly well against acne and those little white spots some of us get on our fingernails. I had horrible acne and vitamins did the trick for me. And my nails.
Try the vitamins/zinc and also keep your hair and hands away from your face as much as possible.
Thank you! Same happened to me. I mean I had some acne before but it wasn't that bad, like most people have. But after having B12 injections my face became unrecognizable in short period of time.
I have been using both supplements and after that injections, now I am scared to take even oral supplements.
I am not a vegetarian but I don't eat much meat, I also avoid cheese, eggs, milk and yogurt all because my dermatologist told me that these products can cause acne (except meat).
So my dh and I have been ttc for a few months now. We had a mc last November and really hope to be pregnant soon :) My last af was on April 26th so I am due in about a week. Lately I have had symptoms of: sore breasts especially nipples (and I never get sore boobs, not even with my miss last year), been feeling a little nauseous at night and sometimes the morning, gotten dizzy a few times, tires all the time and almost can't get up in thE morning!
I do not like the use of drugs to treat acne. They are very expensive and rarely work well. I use Zero Zitz Emergency Power, Queen Helene`s Mint Julep Mask, and the NG Acne Treatment System. I have been acne-free for two years now. If I ever do get a blemish I use the NG Acne Spot Corrector and the blemish disappears within a few days. Deva Borage Oil is also very good in helping to prevent acne from the inside out.
9 weeks along and I've been breaking out like there's no tomorrow. I use to break out like this before I started my period. I'm only assuming it's from my hormones and/or the vitamins I'm taking. Either way, I disapprove.
Have you sought the assistance of a dermatologist for any prescription medications, either topical or oral? If you're able to visit a dermatologist, that should be your first step. Also a licensed aesthetician will treat your skin and teach you about good skin care. You should look to support your internal health, too. Drinking plenty of water will help to keep your pores clean from the inside out, help eliminate toxins, and keep your skin moisturized.
I have taken my own initiative and have placed myself on vitamin a (10 000iu) and B-Complex liquid. Two days after quitting mino (even though I would still get acne bouts around period time) I got a deep hurtful pimple. I started the vitamin A and B complex. Pimple went away (5) days. omg It has been 3 weeks since I have not had any mino. Right now just taking these vitamins has cleared me up. Not only that, I no longer have dark circles.
Very interesting! I also heard that taking a supplement such as Beta Carotene will help too! I went to the health food store and found Beta Carotene 25,000 IU and I also take a woman's multi-vitamin that contains 5,000 IU of Beta Carotene. My face seems to not produce as much oil but my main concern is I may be consuming too much??
Also vitaminsb-6 and b-12 to help with fatigue. And they also sell a med OTC at Walmart called restless legs u can take before bed that will help with the legs at night also and as always get ya a good multi vitamin.
There an awful lot of them that might help. I'd recommend you find a holistic nutritionist for help with this. They'll help to make you as strong as they can, and with so many things to choose from and not knowing what meds you might be taking, they can help with the trial and error of finding what works. Diet is also very important for this particular problem, more so than supplements.
MAKE SURE TO TAKE VITAMIN B-12, MULTI-VIT, VIT-C, CALCIUM (NOT AT THE SAME TIME AS C OR THE C WILL KILL THE CALCIUM), MAGNESIUM. I AM TAKING FOLIC ACID WITH B-12. I WOULD MAKE SURE THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU BY LOOKING IT UP ON LINE, IT'S PROBABLY OK!
I have tried acne products from a to z, herbal vitamins, regular vitamins, changing my diet, have done hours of research on acne, and have tried hormon regulaters. I have a doctors appointment coming up I will post what they tell me and the options they give me.
Im guessing its my hormones from the pregnancy and maybe my vitamins because biotin has always broke me out. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do or what can help my problem? I use Olay cleanser and I recently stopped using my clean and clean moisturizer cause I felt like it was making it works. Help!!
