Avatar n tn I could feel like a little lump under my throat when I touch it. I also failed to mention that I also had a sore throat(lasting 15 minutes), which comes and goes during this ill period. I also had a recurring soar throat during the year... maybe twice which seemed to only last about twenty minutes. Recently, I had a lot of clear white mucos in my throat that may have lasted a good month or month and a half. I appreciate your help in answering other people's questions as well as mine.

Avatar n tn Hi, I had a bacterial throat infection: including sore throat, fever, headache and body aches.....This was before x-mas, I was given Augmentin, which pretty much cleared it up, except my cough and congestion.... After x-mas The cough got worse and fevers, tongue ulcers and head and body aches came again, my Dr. said this time it's viral, so it would have run its coarse, it's been almost a month and still hasn't cleared up at all.
Avatar m tn I experienced a mild case of the Jarisch - Herxheimer reaction over 36 hours after treatment. The sore throat has not yet improved, the tonsils still have white mucous patches, and the rash does not appear to be improving. I'm also still getting headaches everyday, especially at night. My question is what should I expect in terms of resolution of these other symptoms? Weeks? Months?
Avatar n tn At the beggining I Thought it s him because every time I would see him and had intercourse with him I would get throat infection. He says he did his blood tests and that he doesn t have no std s. Now Tomorrow I m going for blood tests myself because the doctor told me I might have soemthing viral. I never seen the papers proving that my boyfriend is clean but he said he ll show them to me. I don t like accusing left and right but honestly I am very concerned about this.

Viral infection usually resolves on its own but may recur whenever you are exposed to a virus especially if your immune system is weakened. On the other hand, bacterial cause may warrant an antibiotic treatment. Warm saline gargle and antibacterial lozenges may help provide relief. Instead, I am using a nasal spray and just trying to do old fashioned remedies: humidifier, running hot showers to losen phlem. I have been sick for 6+ weeks now. Still feel terrible.

Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain.

I saw the doc and she gave me Amoxycillin for 7 days. It then eased but worked its way down to my chest and had l some build up of fluid in the lungs and as a result i was constantly coughing and trying to get it out.
