Avatar m tn Methods We used individual patient data from all randomised trials of daily aspirin versus no aspirin with mean duration of scheduled trial treatment of 4 years or longer to determine the effect of allocation to aspirin on risk of cancer death in relation to scheduled duration of trial treatment for gastrointestinal and non-gastrointestinal cancers. In three large UK trials, long-term post-trial follow-up of individual patients was obtained from death certificates and cancer registries.

1722607 tn?1335747858 t get onto any study trial without an accurate genotype. The study nurse said they have never had this happen to any trial patients before. I'm so bummed. But praying this last test will work!
Avatar f tn For those of you who expressed interest in an update. While I don't have all the lab values and was only in 2.
1658980 tn?1330711550 My study nurse called me this morning to tell me to quit taking the Tegobuvir (GS-9190)as they were pulling it from the study due to uncommon but serious side effects including bleeding issues and severe anemia. Glad I did not have those issues (if I was taking it and not placebo). This is a disappointment to the drug company and also research doctors as the drug looked very promising. Anyone else in a Gilead study that involves the Tegobuvir? You may want to check with your doctor or nurse.

Avatar n tn But this time I am going to ask the GP to try for Gout immediately (VIOXX and/or Allopurinol for Uric Acid/Gout). I notice it seems to reoccur every 5 years. Advice appreciated?
Avatar f tn I finally got my own update today. Indeed, the Roche R1626 trial drug is being pulled for me too. Apparently my trial centre found out last week and specific people were contacted sooner, only one from my trial centre. The rest of us weren't contacted because we're continuing with the trial drug to Week 12 and then stopping the trial drug BUT continuing the trial. Everything continues as before...
333672 tn?1273792789 Since there was some interest the other day in the Fingolimod (FTY720, an oral pill that they're testing for MS; short overview at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18457527) trial that I'm, I thought I'd start a new post. The trial is a phase III trial which means they're testing for the efficacy of the drug (does it actually do what the drug company wants it to; in this case they're primarily measuring number of relapses).
Avatar m tn s not just temporary effect. I guess hbv/hdv trial started first so people from that trial are not on any treatment now ?
215858 tn?1420171556 I should add that with this tx combo the blood panels are not affected, normal lab values throughout my tx and everyone else in trial has not had any hematologic effects during this trial. Everything is still is normal range values as compared with baseline results just prior to begin of tx. I'm trilled to say that these meds have had no negative effects, I really can't tell that I've been on tx, just 10 days left of meds.

29837 tn?1414534648 As for VX-222, they are in clinical trials 1-2, which means they are near the end of trial 1 and moving into trial 2. This drug is supposed to eliminate Interferon and Ribavirin when combined with Telaprivir. Stay tuned...

They already tried wednesday and it didn't work. So I'm waiting for the docs to hear what the plan is going to b if that doesn't work.

Avatar m tn This may not be news to some of you, but TetraLogic is planning a new clinical trial with birinapant early this year. Does this mean they have sorted out the bad side effects from their last trials? Anyone who knows? "The company has retained a clinical research organization and currently expects to initiate this trial at multiple sites in India in early 2016. Timing of results will depend upon enrollment rates and upon the cohort in which activity, if any, is seen." http://ir.
