Symptons are always have been cold, tired, joint and muscle pain worse in fingers, I took Vioxx before it was removed , high blood pressure , tinnitus, completely deaf over 2,500 cycles in both ears. Hearing aids made no difference. Dentist last month couldn't freeze my gums with 2 needles of Carbocaine.

Methods
We used individual patient data from all randomised trials of daily aspirin versus no aspirin with mean duration of scheduled trial treatment of 4 years or longer to determine the effect of allocation to aspirin on risk of cancer death in relation to scheduled duration of trial treatment for gastrointestinal and non-gastrointestinal cancers. In three large UK trials, long-term post-trial follow-up of individual patients was obtained from death certificates and cancer registries.
But this time I am going to ask the GP to try for Gout immediately (VIOXX and/or Allopurinol for Uric Acid/Gout). I notice it seems to reoccur every 5 years.

I had a DVT that went through my heart and into my lungs(PE).
A valve was damaged, also one chanber of my heart.
My problem is that I wasn't diagnosed as a "heart attack", but rather a "pulmonary embolism", and the lawyers representing me in my vioxx lawsuit say it has to be a heart attack, not a PE.
Isn't a heart attack part of a PE? Rather, did I suffer a heart attack as well as a pulmonary embolism?
There was no money exchanged or special consideration given to get Vioxx on the market. However, Vioxx is a good example of a study not digging deep enough into long term effects of a new drug. Vioxx was introduced in 1999 and was originally thought of as a treatment for polyps in the intestinal track.
Pharmasset recently completed dosing in a 28 day Phase 2a trial to evaluate PSI-7977 in combination with Pegasys (pegylated interferon) plus Copegus (ribavirin) in treatment-naive patients chronically infected with HCV genotype 1. Pharmasset expects to initiate a 12-week Phase 2b study of PSI-7977 in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Years ago I tried Vioxx (the non-sulpha version of Celebrex) and wound up in the ER with dangerously high BP. Trouble is, even after I stopped Vioxx my BP never went back to normal. Now I'm on two different BP meds to control it. (Full disclosure: I also have a family history of hypertension.)
I took meloxicam for a long time because I could take it along with my BP meds, but eventually my stomach couldn't take it anymore.
All of those symptoms can be caused by anxiety and if all your tests have come back negative, that could very well be the source of your problem (sometimes people have anxiety disorders without even knowing it!).
Hopefully you get some relief from the prozac - that will narrow things down and you can then work on the cause of the anxiety/depression.

If you look at the studies, (all studies are suspect,as they are done by drug companies that only have profit in mind...Remember Vioxx) you have to ask yourself. Ok, out of the 50,000 people in the trial, how many continued to smoke, how many were overweight, how many were not exercising,how many were mostly eating crap..If you removed all those out of the group, then the beta blocker had little or no effect on the remaining people, except to maybe damage their kidneys.
My hope for this trial and indeed any trial is that the failures are enough to prove the minimum dosing but not a huge number of people. I do not want to see massive numbers of failures. Pharmasset are smart guys who know the risk and I am sure that they will be standing by to pull whole arms if they demonstrate in early testing too high a failure rate.
ive bin having bad pain and cant function normal .im always in pain and my two arms go numb to the fingers. i take vioxx, a pain patch, and neurotin. but that doesent seem to be helping its going on two years and im going mad, what can i do.
Someone in my support group here is in a trial with Kaiser and taking SOC plus the Plough Shearing SI that has a number instead of a name. She's doing very well and will be done in 3 weeks.
boc trial is working good for me. I went in with a viral load of 13 million, in 2 weeks i had a viral load of 2 million. 1a . there are others here who have just about cleared. they will chime in.i will let you know next tuesday about results for 6 weeks. thats with n2 weeks of boc added.
Its been a couple years since I have been here. I did a trial in 2013 with someone that was dosing based on tsh and I eventually gave up. Now looking back I have discovered that I probably was not absorbing the medication. I also know that supplementing with iodine likely sabotaged any progress I was making since is causes tsh to rise in addition to tanking my iron. These are my observations based on the last two years of monthly labwork.

I was given vioxx years ago, read the warnings about heart attacks and such, and threw them all in the trash! Not much later it was pulled from the market. If I lost a loved one, $$ isn't going to bring the back anyway, it's all stupid. If I do myself in, I guess I will come back and haunt the manufacturers....BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........
In that same period of time, 490,000 people have died from prescription drugs, not counting the Vioxx scandal. That means that prescription drugs in this country are at least 16,400 percent deadlier than terrorism. Again, those are the conservative numbers. A more realistic number, which would include deaths from over-the-counter drugs, makes drug consumption 32,000 percent deadlier than terrorism. But the scope of "Death by Medicine" is even wider.
neurontin and lyrica for nerve pain, aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, celebrex, vioxx, midol, dozens of different types of opiates both synthetic and derived from the poppy, marijuana, kava, willow bark, turmeric, ginger, benzos, nitrous oxide gas, ether, and that's just again not even thinking hard about it.

There are three different COX-2 inhibitors currently available to the public– Vioxx, Celebrex and Bextra. COX-2 inhibitors have been associated with some liver dysfunction, although not as commonly as other NSAIDs. Recently, Vioxx has been removed from the market due to heart-related problems.
