proscar

Avatar m tn s due to using findriside for hair loss. My hair is fine but not worth it now. I only just noticed it four days ago and have immediately stoped taking the medication. Would you say I have done permanent damage or when the findristride is totaly out if my system will it all go back to normal. I have an okay sex life and I am 32.
Avatar m tn Use it twice a week it will clean out all the **** from your scalp and provide a healthy environment for hair loss. Minoxidil is **** because it can irritate your scalp(especially at 5%) and even caus other problems. If you suffer future hairloss I would reccommend proscar( it is propecia but get a pill cutter and cut pills into 4) you have to take it every day but it works for almost everyone to prevent hairloss and maybe grow back more. It has worked for me.
Avatar f tn Stress will certainly cause more hair loss. And opiate withdrawals causes stress. When you take opiates for a long time like you have, your body's physiology has been altered. Your central nervous system has created a multitude of opioid receptors that all are screaming for endorphins (opiates) to fill them, but your body has now forgotten how to make them by itself.
Avatar n tn Finasteride goes by the brand name Propecia (for MPB) and Proscar (for BPH) and is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor used to treat male pattern baldness (MPB) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) [enlargement of the prostate]. The medication works by inhibiting the enzyme that converts testosterone to its bioactive metabolite dihydrotestosterone thus decreasing its levels in the body.
Avatar n tn Over the past few weeks have started to notice small unintentional movements in various parts of my body: legs, hands, fingers, feet, arms. This isn't muscle twitching or spasms, rather my extremities move very slightly often after performing some kind of function with them. For example, I move my arm and after the intended movement it will jerk/contract very slightly in some direction very quickly and stop -- almost as if the muscles in my arm are contracting very quickly and releasing.
Avatar f tn I had all the symptoms including the dreaded hair loss! With my doctors approval, I started using Iodine Plus along with Levoxyl. My hair thickened back up and shedding completely stopped. I felt great until about 6 weeks ago I started having increased heart rate, headaches and also broke 2 blood vessels in my eye. I stopped the iodine supplement and started feeling better, but my hair loss resumed. My doctor urged me to stop using the iodine. What should I do?
Avatar f tn 1/8 off my hair in the last 3 months. Is there any way I can stop the hair loss. I am using Levothyroxin 25 and one possible side effect is hair loss, my interist is sending me to a skin doctor in over a month. Do you know what might be the reason for the loss and would a skin doctor be able to help? I had blood tests done this week and my internist found nothing wrong.
Avatar f tn I did gain some weight but I also was not doing too much before and after my ablation. (For VT) No hair loss. It took awhile for my body to get used to this med. but now I feel fine and the weight is coming off with me walking for 30 minuets a day. Good luck and if you need it what is a couple of pounds. I gained about 5. Hope you feel better!

Avatar f tn Before I started Tx, I looked online for hats, scarves, caps that were specifically made for chemotherapy hair loss. As it turns out, there was a store near me and I went there to see what they had. I picked one out and got the data on it. I did not buy it because I did not want a hair covering if I did not need one. But I felt very relieved that I could call them and get the head covering in less than a week if I needed it. http://www.headcovers.com/ http://www.hatsscarvesandmore.
Avatar f tn 05% w/w to my scapl twice daily for a week then give it a break for 3 days and apply minoxidil 3% for those 3 days twice daily, along with which he asked me to take 2 pills bioton 600 and spironolactone 100. do you think its a safe combination? its just been 2 days that i started using the drugs.
Avatar f tn I wonder if this can be the reason for the hair loss? My other assumption is some autoimmune disorder. Doctors checked for it, autoimmune tests came back clear, except one of the "general autoimmunes»that came back positive, but my doctor said also many people without a autoimmune disorder got a positive result on that one. I take no medicine, otherwise healthy (except the fatigue and heartbeat/ adrenalin rushes), low on B12 and D-vitamin, but take supplements.
Avatar n tn If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss. Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones.
Avatar n tn Hi I am 48 and experiencing all the aforementioned - hair loss (for which I've been using Rogaine), crepy skin, wrinkles, dry skin, sagging everything, varicose and bulging veins, and basically the loss of my looks. And I am so tired. I take a host of supplements, and use a red laser about 3 times a week. I have had no exercise in the last few months though and alot of stress. I weigh 115 at 5'3. Any advice other than cry and add exercise back in as well as quit my profession lol?

Avatar f tn My question is have you experienced one or both of the side effects? Is hair loss always accompanied by weight loss or vice versa? Are there any tricks you've developed that really work to prevent hair loss? The other option, the name I've spaced on, has hair loss and weight gain. Lose all around. Also, how well has topamax worked for anyone using is as a mood stabilizer?
