Avatar f tn Hair grows in cycles and some times we have more hair loss than others. Stress will certainly cause more hair loss. And opiate withdrawals causes stress. When you take opiates for a long time like you have, your body's physiology has been altered. Your central nervous system has created a multitude of opioid receptors that all are screaming for endorphins (opiates) to fill them, but your body has now forgotten how to make them by itself.
304573 tn?1345577338 But the hair loss was minimal. Having said that....I still have 3 weeks left, now my hair will probably all fall out. But that'll be ok too....at least I'm UND (and been wanting to try a red wig) I want to know how to do the hearts, too. Can we get a lesson?
Avatar n tn Finasteride goes by the brand name Propecia (for MPB) and Proscar (for BPH) and is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor used to treat male pattern baldness (MPB) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) [enlargement of the prostate]. The medication works by inhibiting the enzyme that converts testosterone to its bioactive metabolite dihydrotestosterone thus decreasing its levels in the body.
Avatar n tn Hi. Hair loss during chemotherapy or radiation therapy is usually temporary, but with repeated treatment, regrowth of the hair may take longer (sometimes as long as six months). There is a possibility that the hair loss becomes permanent, but I cannot find exact figures on the proportion of patients who experience permanent baldness. I suppose it depends on the type of chemotherapy used and the radiation dose.
Avatar f tn Can someone please help me??????? I am 30 year old female, and have experienced 50% or more hair loss. I'm suspecting thyroid problems (strong family history, and small nodule found almost 2 years ago). I am painfully tired, have no energy, constant cold hands and feet, and suffering from insomnia. I have had the following tests done by 2 different doctors, and they are telling me its normal. TSH- 1.97 T3-1.2 T4-6.1 I have not had the thyroid antibody test done.
Avatar m tn i was hypothyroid for a while now my levels are normal, i stopped synthroid becuase it makes me feel very sick nad im off it i feel at bit better but still having alot of symptoms of hypothyroidism. i recently developed bad anxiety, my hair loss is still persistent (it never stopped), i have trouble sleeping and im depressed all the time with constant headaches. has anyone who taken cytomel gotten any relief? i read somewhere people said that they took it and they felt great.
Avatar f tn there are a lot of pretty good reviews on amazon but this one scared me a bit Starting at around 30 weeks, I used the BabyPlus system as directed. My daughter was in a breached position (head up), with her left ear facing my outer stomach for most of the pregnancy. Due to her positioning, the BabyPlus system was playing primarily into her left ear. She was born on July 16th (2008), with permanent (moderate - possibly moderate to severe) sensorineural hearing loss in her left ear.
Avatar f tn asp 2. People on interferon do not experience hair loss in the way that a cancer patient ... Hair loss may continue for up to three months after treatment is discontinued...Fortunately, any hair loss induced by interferon therapy is temporary, and regrowth typically occurs within three to six months from the drug's discontinuation. Thank you. You are very knowledgeable, dr. Ok. done the V-B12 shot and will do it once a week for 4 weeks. Hope it works and stops the crawling and loss of hair.
Avatar f tn Awhile back I thought I was going to have to go on SOC and went to the postings about hair loss for advice and recommendations. When I thought I would need chemo that induced hair loss, I purchased a wig from WIGS.COM much to my regret. In my opinion this is a terrible company with poor business practices and an inferior product especially for a first time wig customer. Epinions tends to agree with me although there are many overblown reviews from questionable sources. Go elsewhere!
1602919 tn?1297874013 I just obtained a copy of my bloodwork results and they seem normal but I am still having symptoms of Hypothyroidism. I'm completely exhausted all the time, always feel bloated, hair loss, very dry brittle hair, loss of sex drive, memory issues, muscle/joint aches, high cholesterol, moodiness, anxiety, and racing heart.
Avatar n tn Propose that your partner try Avodart. I think it really helps with prostate enlargement. That is what the television commercials say anyhow. Unfortunately it also can cause a large reduction in semen production. AND women wanting to become pregnant should NEVER touch the pill as it can cause birth defects if they are exposed at all to it. You can Google Avodart read all of this yourself from a variety of sites, including Avodart's manufacturer.

Avatar m tn I had quite severe BHP and taking proscar and cardura. Had always difficulty urinating. I tried saw palmetto and it made me unable to urinate at all. I had to go to hospital.
Avatar f tn Qsymia has had some really bad reviews. I wouldn't recommend that you go that route. Changing your eating/exercise habits can do the most good.

Avatar m tn The same is true for DHEA, and relora, both anti-angiogenic which have anecdotal reports of hair loss in iHerb reviews and online forums. I still am profusely shedding, but I plan to apply grapeseed extract powder in a vehicle cream (via BeyondACentury) and maybe rogaine (minoxidil 5% or higher but I'm worried about the palpitation and BP side effects) on my face and legs. Please keep me updated.
Avatar n tn Over the past few weeks have started to notice small unintentional movements in various parts of my body: legs, hands, fingers, feet, arms. This isn't muscle twitching or spasms, rather my extremities move very slightly often after performing some kind of function with them. For example, I move my arm and after the intended movement it will jerk/contract very slightly in some direction very quickly and stop -- almost as if the muscles in my arm are contracting very quickly and releasing.
