uroxatral

Avatar n tn I have been experiencing retrograde ejaculation from taking Flomax and Uroxatral for several years. Will normal ejaculation return if I stop the medication? How long will it take?
Avatar m tn My primary-care doctor and urologist both diagnosed prostatitis via digital-rectal exams. I’ve been on Ciprofloxacin (antibiotic), followed by Sulfamethoxyzole (antibiotic) plus Naproxen (anti-inflammatory). Currently I’m on Uroxatral, to help relax my bladder muscles to ease emptying, and further aid my prostate healing. These medications may be helping, but to be thorough I also had ultrasounds of my bladder and testes and doppler (vascular study) of my penis.
Avatar m tn I have had an ultrasound of the prostate which checked out fine and have been tested for chlamydia and gonorhea, which both came back negative. I am currently taking uroxatral and avodart daily, and am curious as to why I am still having symptoms. Is it possible of being overmedicated? Or is there something that has been missed? If so what other possibilities are there?
Avatar m tn I don't know if what follows will help you, but I have had a similar problem to you. Last year, I got an STD after I picked up a girl at the bar and the condom broke. I went to my doctor after I started feeling a little "peculiar" and he prescribed me 7 days of doxycycline, which seemed to help, but didn't solve the problem. I started getting a clear discharge so I went back and the doctor had me tested for STDs. I was negative. He then told me it was probably stress.
Avatar f tn There is another class of medications, such as Uroxatral, which can help shrink your prostate and improve your symptoms. the results of this class of medications, however, often take many weeks before they make a major differences. Ultimately, flomax and drugs like uroxatral can be combined to give maximal medical therapy for BPH. Sometimes men continue to have problems and may be candidates for surgical intervention to improve symptoms.
Avatar m tn When I finishing urinating, I nearly immediately feel the urge to go again. I have been to the doctor but nothing came up. I was tested for infection and an STD (I've not been sexually active in four months). Any ideas? I have to be really careful how many times I go to a doctor because I cannot afford to change my high deductible insurance right now...
Avatar n tn I am 58 yrs old, have BPH and had not taken medicine for the condition, as symptoms were not that bad. While in S. America in November, I had pain which was thought to be from kidney stones. I was given scopolamine. The doctor didn't ask about BPH and I didn't know that the med had side effects related to prostate. It became hard to urinate any more than small quantities at a time. I began retaining fluids, something that was determined after I returned home to US.

Avatar f tn So my doctor prescribed me some nausea pills which I have been taking for a week now. I was looking at the box and came across the sentence "Not to be taken while pregnant" What the hell!? Should I do something!? I'm so angry!
Avatar m tn He put me on Cipro 500mg 2x day for 4 weeks and uroxatral 10mg 1xday. This regimen did not help so I then went on septra DS for only 9 days (3 week prescription) because I didn't notice an improvement (hindsight probably stopped this one too early). He then put me on 10 weeks at 100mg 2x day.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your response on brown seminal fluid. I left out some info. My husband is 47, and DID NOT have brown fluid before this prostate test was done. Should I call the uroligist that did the test and let him know whats going on. my husband also said that the prostate exam hurt and hurt for a 1/2 hr after. He said the doctor didn't use enough lube and was in a hurry.
Avatar n tn t use Flomax or other alpha blockers due to side effects -- disturbed sleep. Uroxatral even caused me to sleepwalk 15 feet from a nap on the sofa one evening, waking when I fell flat on my face in the next room! Separately, due to a Vitamin D deficiency my doc found, he put me on 50,000 units Vitamin D per week for 8 weeks, followed by biweekly doses. And guess what...the Vitamin D almost instantly "cured" the BPH.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the STD forum. Urinary symptoms like you describe are rarely due to STD; and any STDs that conceivably could be involved (e.g. chlamydia) would be effectively treated with 6 weeks treatment with doxycycline. (One week would have been sufficient.) That your symptoms continued on that treatment is strong evidence that no infection of any kind is involved. Your symptoms almost certainly have a non-infectious explanation.
1325672 tn?1290084214 ) Your Doctor wants to put you on an extended release formulas because the medication your on is a short acting medication that will eventually stop working due to tolerance and you will just have to keep taking more and more. Most CP Pt's do take a long acting medicine with a short acting medication for break thru pain.
Avatar m tn No I am worried that they are testing me for some reason. Is it legal for your doctor to ask you to give back medication she prescribed to her office when the medication was obviously filled at a pharmacy?
Avatar n tn I am currently taking Valporic Acid for the Bipolar although I feel that the dose is not strong enough also I feel like I have lost my mind. Avatar f tn This all started after a severe reaction to a medication which caused my whole body to twitch uncontrollably. In the ER, they told me my problem wa simply that I needed to calm down and sent me home twitching all over, and so dizzy I had to hold the walls to stand. The next day, a family practictioner realized what was really going on, and took me off the offending medication. Anyway, I was diagnosed bipolar II a couple years ago. Since then, I can't receive medical care.
Avatar f tn The doctor who prescribed the medication is know longer in my network.. So as of right now i dont have a doctor to ask if its safe to combine the medication.. I dont think over the counter medication is going to help with these finding..
Avatar f tn http://www.drugwatch.com/ssri/pregnancy/ Pretty much everything you've listed should not be taken during pregnancy. My wife won't even take Advil, as per doctor recommended, but this is a question best asked to your doctor. My advice? Kick the pills. If caffeine and Aspirin can hurt a child, imagine the effects of anti-depressants.
Avatar m tn Ceruvin AF - 1 daily; Rosuvas 10 mg - 1 daily, Valparin CR 5oo mg - Twice daily, voglibo M .02 - 2 daily. Yesterday, by chance I lifted some heavy material and chest pain started immediately. I rushed to a Doctor who suggested me to go for Echo Cardiograph after ECG. The Echo Cardiograph revealed 'thin Septum with hypokinesia, LVEF 35%'. After this, the Doctor, advised to take Cardivas 3.125 tablets along with the ones I am already taking. No other procedure, treatment, etc.
