my window period for pap closing tomorrow and i am only taking truvada, and i m reading that usually truvada taken with other hiv prophylaxis meds, so this is what i wanted to know if truvada only is enough for prophylaxis. i m calling a doctor but he is not picking up...
Do you recommend the truvada over the viread or baraclude? If while being switched from Hepsera to truvada is there a risk that the Hep B could become active? Also , the Hepatitis B DNA is currently undetectable and the Hep B Surface AG is currently negative (both prior to transplant as well as post transplant, so far ) what are the chances that the Hep B could become active again once the Hbig infusions are stopped? I had an unprotected oral sex, with a small sore on my penis. Right at the day of the exposure I took one pill of truvada as a post-prophylaxis therapy. 1 pill and not more. After 6 weeks I have negative 4-th generation test. But is there a possibility that I have a much longer seroconversion period because it this one pill of truvada? Does it have impact on results or just one pill does not make a difference?
I rinsed my penis and swabbed with alcohol after. I also commenced Truvada that evening ( approx 4 hrs post exposure) . Is this adequate . I have now been on it for a week . I was considering commencing kaletra as well . Is my risk high ? would you recommend anything else?

I started PEP 2 hrs later (truvada, norvir, raltegravir, and preszita), my initial results are negative. I do not know the viral load of the patient yet, i can only pray that it is low. I know odds are 0.3% but that doesnt settle my fears, i am young and want to live a happy healthy life with KIDS! DR. please tell me if you have honstly heard of any cases like mine that have converted. I am in awe and feel like my life is totally over and ruined.

I then went to my family doctor and she was going to prescribe truvada plus tiviacy but she changed her mind and said the tiviacy is too toxic.
So she put my on truvada alone will this even reduce my risk?

t been able to concentrate at work all day and am thinking of running to a clinic to get some truvada prophylaxis before the 72hr cut off window ends! I know it can cost around $900! But for me it's worth the cost!

Can you please help me decide if I should take Post Exposure Prophylaxis: Truvada 200 mg (emtricitabine-tenofovir) plus Tivicay 50 mg (dolutegravir) for 28 days to reduce likelihood of HIV illnesses. I am a 28 year old new male doctor (not MD) and two nights ago, I had unprotected sex with a male who strongly preferred no condoms. For about 2 minutes of the sex, I penetrated him anally without protection. After about 2 minutes, I withdrew my penis and introduced a condom. We finished the act.

Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. How can I change from taking Truvada in the noon to taking Truvada at midnight? For instance, should I do two doses of Truvada in one 24 hour period or should I do no doses in one 24 hour period to get it right?
3. When the doctors prescribed the medication I ended up taking 4x the recommended dose of Aluvia. This was due to me having received four cans of Aluvia,not realizing that each can was meant to last 1 week.
I am a gay male and have taken Truvada as PrEP daily since last November.
