1 Truvada and 2 Kaletra at 7am while 2 Kaletra at 7pm. Yesterday, I took 1 Truvada at 7am but since I was in a hurry after dinner, I accidentally took one more Truvada last night. I tried to vomit it up but I was able to vomit only a part (dissolved part) of it. Because of panic, I forgot to take Kaletra last night. I rushed to the A&E and asked the doctor's advice on what to do.
Since the chances a quite low Can I stop taking pep or can I stop kaletra and remain with truvada take it upto 28days.coz kaletra gives me diarrhea.
m currently taking Kaletra and Combivir.
I rinsed my penis and swabbed with alcohol after. I also commenced Truvada that evening ( approx 4 hrs post exposure) . Is this adequate . I have now been on it for a week . I was considering commencing kaletra as well . Is my risk high ? would you recommend anything else?

Is combivir an appropriate HIV nPEP regimen for one time unprotected encounter with CSW of unknown status in Kenya? I'm a 24 yr male from UK. Insertive vaginal and oral. Asked about Kaletra and doc said it's low risk doesn't recommend, but I am still very worried. Started within 12 hours, but still within 72 if kaletra should be added. I feel terrible of course but appreciate any advice.
A day after it happened I went to my doctor who gave me a prescription for Truvada/Kaletra. My baseline test was negative for all common STDs and HIV.
A week after it happened I went to another STD clinic and had another test done (I wasn't sure if gonorrhea and chlamydia would show up on a test a day after) and those tests were all negative. However, the clinic gave me an antibiotic shot and azithromycin.
Started PEP at roughly 56 hours, was prescribed Truvada and Kaletra (those orange ones). However in such panic I took the one Truvada and stupidly only one Kaletra (I was meant to take two), the second tablet I took at roughly 68 hours. I then realised my stupidity and the next day (about 80 hours) I began to take the correct dosage (one truvada and two Kaletra twice daily).
Tested negative for all other STD's inc. HIV on roughly 12th Jan.
ve been on Kaletra/Truvada since 36-8 hours after. Also been taking a histamine based sleeping tablet every night.
I've had numb hands and arms occurring at night since day 10, along with night sweats. No fever during the day, no other symptoms.
I know that peripheral neuropathy is rare in both meds and ARS. Since I am never, ever ill normally (and I'm not imagining these palpable symptoms) I'm 95% sure the symptoms are either meds or ARS.
I'm on the combo Kaletra and Truvada for the past 4 years and now have bad Peripheral Neuropathy and a severe symmetrical rash on my arms and legs to go with it. The rash has been treated with steroids, antibiotics, and antihistamines for the last three months and does not go away. It is painful and driving me nuts to boot. Any suggestions? Thank you.
This question is for an expert or someone who has information from reliable sources on net. Can I change from Kaletra to Istentress after few days during the course of 28 day PEP period? This is in addition to Truvada.
I am in area where I do not have any good access to knowledgeable doctor. Is there any paid online service available for such consultation in any country? It is a pity that in most places HIV is still a big taboo and no good doctors are available.
I finished PEP 13 days ago (28 days of Truvada and Kaletra). 10 days after finishing pep i felt a lump under my right armpit and a small one on the left. I have no fever, or any other symptoms. I do have inflammed lymph node under my jaw but they have always been like that.
1. Can lymph nodes under my armpit be a sign of acute hiv, even though i have no other lymph nodes
2. If i am pocking them hard 6 times a day can i cause enlargement?

So 33hours after possible HIV exposure, I ingested my first dose of PEP pills (Truvada and Kaletra). I took the pills consistently for 28 days (one blue truvada pill every 24 hours and two yellow Kaletra pills every 12 hours). The regimen ended August 22nd 2012.
Today is one week later. im going insane. i do not want HIV. I will take a duo test on September 19th 2012 (28 days after PEP and 57 days after possible HIV exposure with woman of unknown status.

Over the past two days, I engaged in the best sex...several times over, all unprotected...it was amazing and was the most wonderful time, with the most wonderful person who I have known and respected for years. At the end of day two, I found out that he's hiv positive. This was yesterday.

Last weekend (Saturday night - Sunday morning) I stupidly allowed myself to have unprotected aggressive-anal and passive/aggressive-oral sex. About an hour after I found out that the person has sex with people that have HIV. The person tried to assure me that they were clean, had an HIV test last March that came back negative, and that I was the first person they had sex with since November (as if March 2011 to November conveniently doesn't matter).
68 hours late I have started a PEP treatment including Truvada and Kaletra for 28 day. I have complete the treatment sticking rigorously to the time frame for medication intake. During this time I have experienced many side effects. After stopping the medication I have experienced increased and uneven heart rate, joints pain, diarrhea, stomach pain , light head. Each o the has lasted for number of days replaced by another just to be back in a two weeks frame.
I went to health care center today, and explained the situation to doctor
I did a rapid test there as control, and which is negative. and then doctor prescribed me Truvada as PEP for a month, and asked me to do a RNA after finish the Truvada.
I keep searching "Effectiveness of Truvada alone as PEP" in internet, I am not sure if this is a normal practice for issuing Truvada alone.
Two days later, my genitals started itching and burning and I got acne on my back, so I went to the doctor, who prescribed PEP (Truvada and Kaletra). This was 62 hours after the encounter. I was on PEP for 30 days. Eight weeks after completing the PEP regimen, I tested negative for all STD's (HIV/Herpes/Hep/Syph/Gon,etc) on November 18. But a week later, I started getting knee pain and muscle aches all over my body (arms, legs, back).
20 hours from the encounter i started up PEP( kaletra+ truvada), with the usual side effects + blood in the spitting ( a consequence of the deep throat or of the kaletra ? i noticed the blood only 1/2 days after the 1th assumption)
tomorrow morning the male of the couple promised me he's gonna test and show the result.
in case of negativity should i interrupt the treatment ? or i need both of them to be tested ?
I am a homo with a minimum sex encounters (less than once a year). I called a male escort were we had protected session. During the session the escort took-off the condom for 3 minutes and we had unprotected sex until i realized that & requested him to put it back. he didn't ejaculated inside me & afterwards i give him oral for few minutes then he mastributed for a few minutes until he finished (very few drops).
I am worried about the side effects of the medicaments I am taking Kaletra (4 each day) + Truvada (1 each day). Im having nauseas and diarrhea and had pale stool despite i was completely healthy before this.
Do you think I should take just the Truvada? Could the cut or the total stop of treatment lead to resistance if I finally have HIV?
