I encourage you and your bf to read the herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com. You might want to rethink your bf not being on suppressive therapy to help lower your risk of contracting herpes - especially if you are planning on starting a family someday. If you can avoid contracting genital herpes until after that - it's just less worrying during pregnancy.
Have you ever had a herpes blood test to know your own status?
is genital herpes by definition HSV2..and to have genital herpes it is usally if not always manifested by some kind of lesions in the genital area or in the lower body? Since I have never had such an experience how would I have genital herpes? It is my understanding that by definition in order to have genital herpes you mostly like would have lesions (visible infection) in that part of the body? I will surely speak to my Dr. about the Western blot test.
Oral sex exposes you to gonorrhea, syphilis and herpes. Whether you feel symptoms or not, it's always good to test. At this point, if you test for gonorrhea and syphilis, the result will be accurate. For herpes, it will be necessary to wait until the 90th day after the exposure.

I started getting worried and looked at my tongue and I have some bumps around the center of it. It has started burning again and so has the roof of my mouth. I can't believe I was that stupid again. So I'm worried I have hpv and can't find any good pictures of oral hpv to see if that is what I have. I wish I could post picture here so you could seewhat I was talking about there are about 15 bumps in the center of my tongue.
Today i have woken up with a cut on my tongue (really similar to if i have bit my tongue in the night) and im worried that ive got oral herpes. (I was ill with a cough 1 week before meeting her and do still feel abit illish) my main concern is the cut on my tongue. Have i just bit my tongue in the night or have i now got herpes? I dont have any other sores on my lips or anything only a cut on my tongue. Also i asked her if she has any std or herpes and she strongly told me no.

I didnt think anything of it until i got a small rash on my chest. I had a duo test between 5 and 8 weeks post exposure, it was probably 6 to 7 weeks but im confused with the dates, the test came back negative.

If u can keep me posted on your condition please. As I will do the same. But I tested for HIV and herpes and both came back negative. Except for herpes one. Which the clinic told me its not cause of oral. It was passed on. I forgot the word she use. Starts with an H. So I'm pretty sure 9 days after exposure was way to soon. So will test soon after a few weeks!!!
Then, in the last couple days, she has developed two sores on her genitals. She went to the doctor and they did a test for herpes, but is there anything else this could be? We have been manogamous for nine years and prior to that we both used a condom with our sexual partners (for her this only involved on encounter). I have never had any symptoms. We are both confused and worried, as we are still waiting on test results. Are the mouth and genital sores related?
I rimmed someone a week ago and now have tiny red bumps on the tip of my tongue that hurt. If I contracted herpes from this person, could I also have contracted HIV? I have read that herpes can increase the risk of transmission of HIV. This person has stated he's clean but obviously not now that I have numerous tiny red bumps across the tip of my tongue, so I can't really believe he's telling the truth about his HIV status.
I've recently noticed on the front of my tongue (tip) two dark red spots. Can herpes effect the tongue or can any other STD effect the tongue?
One of the spots looks a tad depressed as well. As if it's a mini little hole. Any ideas to what this is? Is it herpes?
Yes I was that drunk. I've never regretted anything more in my life. I know for a fact that I had sex with this woman. Like I said, there was a used condom on the floor. And, I remember regaining consciousness during part of the act, through I don't know if I had a condom on or not.
Couple that with my onset of ARS and the Positive IgM for Herpes. And I'm completely freaking out. I just looked at my geographic tongue, and I feel doomed.
Then i got a tingling sensation on my hard palate about 4 weeks later,the i have had all sorts of Ibs symptoms,have had treatment for oral thrush,my tongue is a pale white coating and also has a tingling sensation ,i have had all tests done from worry and all were negative ,i have an endoscopy in March ,but basically i am asking if anyone has experienced a constant burning tingling sensation in the mouth on the tongue

Could you comment on incidence that you have seen in which an individual does not have such severe herpes symptoms; meaning they have herpes, but never had legions or bumps everywhere?
If I have herpes simplex would it be herpes 1 or herpes 2. I tested postive for herpes 1 in 1996 and herpes 2 negative Sept. 20, 2010 and the incident happened in July 14, 2010. Should I retest for herpes 2 again?
If I have herpes 1 in the groin area is it worst than herpes 2?
Or is it HHV6 herpes simplex which is in the area which I believe that is the new herpes I have? No proof just a feeling.
Another concern is the 13 weeks HIV test. It was a rapid home test.
Also when I push my lips out i see little white bumps that you can not see unless you push out your lips. I am really worried. The sores on my tongue and the bump near my genitals do not hurt and i never had trouble swollowing. I have had some flu like symptoms but was not sure if those were caused by my constant worrying and looking at websites about symptoms. fever but not very high or very long, no real body aches, but a slightly sore back, and have just been very tired all the time.
Also, just now, when I tried to feel them, there were some slightly larger bumps further back and one of the small ones opened up er split in half.
You had a low risk exposure for gonorrhea, NGU, herpes and syphilis. Gonorrhea and NGU most of the time will cause discharge. Herpes and syphilis are very low risk.
I would not worry about it too much. You can test for the 1st 2 after 1 week and the next to at 6-8 weeks.
Symptoms do not happen the next day so your symptoms are not related to a STD.
It is a white-yellowish coating on my tongue, my tongue also has like red bumps at the back of my tongue, scalloped edges and like canker sores in the edges back deeper inside. I find this really scary!
Has anyone seen anything like that before? Is that an ARS symptom?
My other question is. Have you ever seen or have known about a 28 day combo test (4th generation) negative result changing when restesting in the following weeks/months?

They start and take about 10-15 days to heal and typically occur in same areas, back of tongue and tip of tongue. My tongue also feels hot and burns. My dr said she was pretty sure it was herpes virus that caused my cold sore, so i guess spread to the tongue. I did a swab and it came back normal but my dr said thats bc the sores had been there for several days and the swab would need to be done in the first 48hrs. Problem is, in the first two days theres nothing really there.
I'm only asking for your help because I got sick...I went to the doctor..I had lesions on my tongue. She called me a week later and said I had herpes, but they couldn't tell what kind...that I would have to take a blood test. But you have stated that it is most likely not herpes....so I don't know, I just needed some more input... I just took a blood test, but have not gotten my results yet.
