Avatar n tn The tongue is the fastest healing muscle in the body, as long as you keep it clean during the weeks healing proccess i think it should be ok, stay away from foods that might inflame it and stuff.. But i dont think you will get a clean hygienic piercer to do it because you are pregnant ..

Avatar m tn I found out that a little infection is a normal part of the healing process in any piercing, but has to be kept clean continuously for healing to be complete. I didn't want to deal with that and decided to remove the piercing about a two or three days later. My concern is that the white milky discharge may be the result of the piercing... could this be the case? Could the root of all this be from an infection in my scrotum? Or is this a totally different thing?
Avatar f tn ve had my tongue pierced for about 2 years now, and it got so swollen and hurt so bad during the healing process I could barley even eat soft foods. I tried jello, mashed potatoes, even baby cereal, and it all hurt so bad that I just really didn't eat until it was healed. I just drank a lot of cold drinks and hot tea, I was able to eat ice cream and stuff like that tho as well. Then when it healed and I went to eat actual food, I kept biting it and stuff.
Avatar n tn The process of piercing would put someone at risk if the piercing instrument was contaminated with HIV infected blood, just as contaminated needles risk HIV transmission occupationally for health care workers or among injection drug users. But simply having a pierced tongue, navel, or nipple doesn't mean the instruments used in piercing were contaminated. If everybody with a body piercing were at increased risk for HIV, then that would apply to amost every woman.
Avatar f tn It appears to me that you have a slight infection and but by cleaning is not going to make it better, your going to have to take out your piercing and let it heal but don't stop cleaning it. Your piercing might seal within the healing process but don't let that get you down as you can always re-pierce it.
Avatar f tn This may be tmi, sorry but, i have my nipples and tongue pierced. Among others, but those are the ones im wprried about. Did/do any of you ladies have either done? And did you have to take them out, if so around how many weeks did you remove them?
Avatar f tn Are the bumps anywhere near the piercing? If so, then the bumps are possibly the result of scar tissue build up as a result of the healing process from the piercing. If they're not anywhere near the piercing; then, maybe they're nodules or benign cysts which sometimes develop in the oddest places in the body... even down there. If they're cysts, and by your description, they could be, they eventually go away over time... sometimes several months.

Avatar f tn Before I had gotten pregnant I had gotten my nipples pierced and they are in the process of healing. From what I know it takes a while for them to completely heal. If they dont heal by the time the baby comes (as in still kind of *****) how am I supposed to beast feed? Or should I even breast feed? Or should I just take them out now and have it close up nd heal during the 9 months. P.s.
Avatar f tn ineedananswer is correct. What you are experiencing now is part of the normal healing process. Just follow the insturctions I'm sure you were given on how to keep the area clean and just keep your eye on it for the next week. Anything that doesn't seem right after 7-10 days should probably be brought to your doctors attention. Continued redness and swelling as well as pain, (doh) would indicate an infection and would need to be seen immediately.

Avatar f tn i highly doubt it's an allergic reaction to the metal because i've had my tongue pierced at the same piercing place and it didn't give me any problems =( also, if it is my body's reaction to a foreign object, do you think my body will eventually get used to having it there? i really like it and would rather not take it out unless i absolutely have to.

Avatar n tn I got my tongue pierced about a year and half ago, but I have suddenly got a lot of ulcers in around my mouth and my tongue and gums are swollen and i just wanted to know if that had anything to do with my tongue piercing. my tongue piercing looks pretty normal apart from the fact that my tongue is swollen and the end of it is numb and funny feeling as if i've burnt the to of it.
