The next morning I woke up and found that I had a sore on each side of my tongue (they rub against my bottom molars). They hurt and look a little bit like canker sores, but I've never gotten a canker sore on my tongue, so I'm trying to find out if it's something I should be worried about... Is it possible that it's herpes? Or is that unlikely? Pleeeeease help. Thank you.

About 5 months ago, I started experiencing small eroded sores on the sides of my tongue where my tongue touches my teeth, near the back of my mouth. These patches have persisted to this day. In the beginning, it was typically just 1 small sore at a time. These sores typically had a very thin white ring around the outside edge and areas grew slowly over a course of several days, until the white ring disappeared and the patches stopped growing.

It is difficult to say whether or not my tongue has improved. Before starting the ketoconazole, I was waking up in the morning with the corners of my lips being sticky and burning with minor white residue. Since starting the ketoconazole, my lips have recovered. I am extremely eager to rid myself of this, any suggestions are welcome.

ve been tested back in January and June for oral herpes, and both times came back negative. I keep getting what seems to be a canker sore on the side of my tongue, and it appears in the same spot. It's happened 3 times in the past 4 months. I'm afraid it's herpes, what do you think? Is it typical to see recurrent herpes IN the mouth/throat as opposed to the lips/face? Please help!

And at Wednesday night I had come down with a fever that lasted till Friday morning but on Friday morning I realised I had more of these spots on my tongue (3) and on my lip. Upon further inspection I noticed a swelling or lump type thing growing just before my tonsils making it hard for me to swallow. Katester- I had sores in my mouth & tongue during tx. My Dr prescribed stalin, it worked. It would clear it up within a couple of days. Avoid eating mushrooms. they're a fungus & it will make it worse. Good luck!

Two very red raw spots in the middle near the tip of my tongue. At night while sleeping my tongue gets so dry it wakes me up. You may want to start flossing every day and scrap your tongue with a tongue scraper and see if the bad breath goes away. You could even rinse with a mouthwash; I like the Natural Dentist mouthwash but you have to get that at a healthfood store. When you eat certain foods does your tongue sting? Like with acidic foods, ie pineapple, tomatoes, etc...if so, classic geographic tongue. But, you really should see your dentist to make sure!!

I come from Singapore and engaged a Singaporean CSW to receive insertive oral sex from her. I received it unprotected, which is obviously a concern. She also had a tongue-ring as she went down on me. I went to my dentist 4 days ago and he did a mouth exam and looked at my mouth neck jaw under my tongue and the roof of my mouth and when he was done said mouth sores, canker sores but why are they so slow healing I have used salt water and anything you can think of. PS help what should I do I have also been to two doctors and they said the same thing.

They start and take about 10-15 days to heal and typically occur in same areas, back of tongue and tip of tongue. My tongue also feels hot and burns. My dr said she was pretty sure it was herpes virus that caused my cold sore, so i guess spread to the tongue. I did a swab and it came back normal but my dr said thats bc the sores had been there for several days and the swab would need to be done in the first 48hrs. Problem is, in the first two days theres nothing really there.
