All you can do is distract yourself-- but the funny thing, is that the longer you do this, the better it works. And one day, you will wake up and find that your heart aches less. And each day will get better. But you have to work at it otherwise you will just keep hurting. I know it doesn't help- but just about everyone has gone through this in their life--and sooner or later it gets better- and you feel you learned something from it.
As she gets stronger, she may come back to you when she is emotionally strong enough---- and if you really like her and are still available----- continue the relationship and climb the steps.
So I broke up with my boyfriend after a somewhat rocky seven year relationship. The guy didnt treat me great. I often heard (mostly in rocky times) "your a ****** joke" and well he could yell for hours. Just couldnt calm down. There were lost of trust issues, compatibility issues but we were crazy about each other. We had so much history. So I persevered through the years with a positive outlook that has caused me palpitations and constant anxiety about the future.
it was perfect from both sides however due to deadlines I havent been round to much for a month but there over next week. then she just said pretty much sick of the texting, its just become forced, even when were out in public its not great cuz we dont have enough alone time whereas i didnt think any of the above.. then by text was given the "break" messge..
The extent of the relationship can cause a break up to be short and sweet. And some people have a hard time dealing with other people's emotions and just break it off abruptly and quickly to deal with as little of that as possible.
Going through a difficult time is a test to a relationship. Very many will NOT survive a tough time. Not all relationships are meant to last and we date to learn these things about people. Maybe if someone is very emotional, depressed, etc.
The reason i struggled with the break up is because we had a strong connection. If i give you examples of the pos and negatives of the relationship.
Positives.... best connection ive ever had and he felt the same. Amazing love making and closeness.
Enjoyed one anothers company.
Had fun together
Enjoyed the same things
Both werent fussed about having kids
Both very affectionate
He was loving and romantic
Negatives
Think he could be a mummys boy
Puts his mum and dad before his gf.
Being attracted to other people is not something to break up over. Have you never looked at another guy while in a relationship? The point is that he's not acting on these things. I know one thing that helps my husband I is talking about our fantisies or attractions. The hubs has a weird thing for redheads so once in a while I'll buy a box of washout hair dye to surprise him. The point is give him some slack he's normal, it doesn't mean he's cheating or will cheat.
Well I am entering my first year in college and my girlfriend is doing the same thing. We are going to schools 6 hours apart and she is playing a sport there. We've been dating for 5 months but we've been best friends forever. I know everything about her as she does of me, we have actual life conversations and stuff. It's not like a normal highschool relationship. When we agreed to start dating, I was adamant on no long distance relationship.
My ex-boyfriend and I were together for about 1.5 years. It was an amazing relationship full of love, communication, and mutual respect and support. We ended up splitting because of some issues related to his kids (whom I never met, because they were not open to meeting someone new, as their parents were newly divorced).
He told me how miserable he was during the break up and how he realized that I was the one he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. During our breakup & right when we got together I kept asking him if he was talking or had sex or sent pictures to any other girls doing our break up, & he told me that he didn't and that he wasn't even thinking about any other girls at the time.
If it was a relationship of any length, there are sitcom plots about the email/text break up. I do think that a proper break off is appropriate if he still thinks they are a couple and they had any type of committed relationship. Especially since she's already seeing someone new.
I do, however, totally agree about making it short and sweet.
