Avatar n tn Beard area is under androgenic stimulation not as much the level of the hormone, but the genetic expression at the hair root level. You have to accept this limitation, and even increasing testosterone will have no beneficial effect.
Avatar n tn I was wondering, is it possible to have my doctor prescribe something - similar to HRT - that will help my beard come in thicker and fuller? Or is there something natural I can take? I know that beard growth is essentially regulated by the body's hormones, so I thought this may be possible. My beard is lacking in several places, especially my very thin mustache, and I terribly want to have a full thick and masculine beard.
Avatar m tn 22, after waiting for years for a beard and being disappointed (and bitterly angry at clean-shaven men who throw away their nice gift), I finally saved up enough money for a blood test. After consulting with doctor about results: Testosterone levels are normal, but low: (me - 406.00 ng/dl :: normal range is 280 - 1100.00 me - 14.09 nmol/dl :: normal range is 9.72 - 38.17) My SHBG levels are also low - actually they are borderline TOO low (me - 14.40 :: normal range is 14.50 - 48.
Avatar n tn many people ask me this type question but i have no answer for this.sir please help for growing beard on my face. This discussion is related to No Beard and Moustache.
Avatar m tn My boyfriend is the same way, and only now at 45 years old did he try growing a beard and find it was thick enough to be called a beard. He has little body hair except for leg hair, and he has always turned heads everywhere he goes, so don't fret not having body hair. When you're young you focus on one particular look you admire and think that's the only right way to be, but it's wrong thinking.
Avatar f tn This is my second pregnancy and I know this may sound odd but does anyone else seem to have an increase in hair growth? I find week to week my hair seems to be getting long and like daily I have to shave my legs! Annoying! What I read online say its because I'm having a boy ( my first pregnancy i had boy, but I'm only 3 months atm) and its an increase of testosterone, but I'm not growing a beard or a penis haha just seems so silly to me!
Avatar m tn Make an appointment with an endocrinologist (hormone Dr). Do not get your hopes up in certain areas such as growth, the normal time for this is in your growing years. But, he can help in many other areas. Then believe your family in that many other people are trying desperately to stay young. A good attitude goes a long way.
Avatar m tn I was later told that I did not qualify for the trial because my Testosterone level was too high for the trial. For comparison, my Testosterone measures 590 ng/dL(nanograms per deciliters). Trial members will have a Testosterone cream to rub into their skin once a day for 30 days. I do not think any good things in life comes to us instantly. You should notice over time that your beard and hair will grow faster(about three-quarters of an inch a month).
Avatar n tn Women can have an imbalance of certian hormones, like testosterone, that can cause growth of hair similar to men. Another cause could be a really bad photograph. Good luck to your brother and fiance!
Avatar m tn It most likely is a beard hair but is growing on your wrest.
Avatar f tn Low sexual desire may be really a side effect of Adderall, I would advise you to consult with your doctor about the probability of it. However, it can be not the only reason for your symptoms. Why do you worry about your testosterone level? You can pass a test on it, of course, but I don't think this is necessary if you don't have such symptoms as reduced growth of the beard, lack of hair on the legs, gynecomastia.
Avatar n tn Unless you suffer from a hormonal imbalance, generally there is no medical treatment available to increase beard growth. If you have any doubts or concerns, you should consult a physician and possibly even an endocrinologist and dermatologist. Adolescent and young adult males can reasonably expect that the development of their facial hair will increase over time. Genetics and hormones, however, remain the controlling factors. The timetable varies widely among individuals.
Avatar m tn I’ve spoken to many women, but have never met anyone else experience such an insane hair growth rate – like men’s 5 o’clock beard. I am not exaggerating. Even after removing hair from the root, my skin is smooth for 1, up to 2 days. I have spoken to a dermatologist, but couldn’t get an answer on what exactly causes the rate at which body hair grows back. Is it really just genes? Is there anything I can do to normalise it?
Avatar f tn Genetics and hormones, however, remain the controlling factors. The timetable varies widely among individuals. Some may develop fully-mature beard growth in the teen years, while others may not do so until their late twenties. Still others may never develop appreciable beard growth. Let us know if you need any other information . Regards.

Avatar n tn Growth of facial hair depends on a lot of factors. For example, certain ethnic groups naturally have less facial hair than others such as Asian, Native American, etc. It could just be something in your ethnic background. A better gauge of sexual maturity is pubic hair. If you have reached Tanner Stage P-5 you're a normal adult male.
Avatar m tn Okay I am almost 20 years old and still can't grow a beard. Well, I can grow "some" stubble but it's only under my chin and it grows EXTREMELY slow. So I tried doing a bit of research about facial hair and what i found was that usually, the level of testosterone in your body is not the issue, it's how sensitive your hair follicles are to responding to the hormone. So why is it that my facial hair grows extremely slow while hair on other parts of my body grow much faster?
Avatar m tn My testosterone level is at 5.67 ng/ml.Is it is less...I am not able to grow moustache and beard..I took all thyroid test T3,T4,TSH. T3-1.5 ng/mL. T4-11 ug/dl TSH-1.

Avatar m tn Hello everyone, I am sixteen years old and I hit puberty at 14 years and for months. My problem is that I don't have mustache, beard, and hair on my arms, and I also think that my penis is not fully grown. I have hairs on my legs, pubic hair and some armpit hair. i can normally ejaculate and I have many erections, but I think that the amount of semen in each ejaculation is no a lot.
Avatar m tn I'm 37 and married for 11 years with a great sex life (no complain at all). I used to have morning erection almost every day, and some spontaneous erections along the day. Since one month ago (Jan/2013) I started having a severe ED problem. Spontaneous erection became very rare and don't last more than a few seconds. When I try to have sex relation with my wife, I almost always lose erection or even can't get erection at all.
